Okay we are heading to WDW in March and my inlaws want to go to dinner with us!!!:sad2: So if we go and I book my ADR's how will the tip be added. They are not staying at WDW and we are and will be on the DDP (regular). Just base it on what the 2008 plan is for now until the official word comes out about any changes.

Your tip will be added automatically as at 18% of the pretax total. I'd expect two bills, one for those off DP and one for those on DP. You are a party of 6 or more so no getting around the auto tip, no matter how the bill is split.

Well if something changes and they end up joining you for one dinner, make it a buffet that way you nor they will be stuck at the table the entire time. If you make it a character buffet even better as there will be visitors to break up the motony as well. :thumbsup2

They won't go if they have to pay a tip?

I guess they never go out to real restaurants then? How sad that some people refuse to tip...I wouldn't get along with them either...

Let's just say there very different and the less time I spend with them the better. I asked them (being very polite), last October if they wanted to join us for dinner in March 08,(I had made our ADR's in September) They said they couldn't make plans that far in advance. 2 weeks before our trip, they called and said we expect to go to dinner with you at least one night since we haven't seen you in 6 months,(they live in Florida during the winter). We explained that in October we asked you and you couldn't make plans that far inadvance!!! That started a big fight and they said "well just call dining and add us to the reservation:scared1: :scared1: They expect you to bend over backwards to convience them only and not the other way around. I refuse to end up with the tip and seconded of all why should I have to pay a automatic tip when we can go with a family of 5 and I can pay what I feel the server deserves. We always pay them the proper amount based on the service. But lately I have heard with the bigger groups the service is awful due to the automatic tip. When we were there in March we payed cash for all tips and the service was excellent. No missing refills and no missing servers anywhere for us. Compared to last year where the tip was automatic and we lost servers and never got the proper service. I pay the server well when I get service.
