Do any BWV Std view rooms have view of canal/ToT?

I always thought the views of ToT and canal were preferred.

On one of the recent BWV view threads someone had a overhead shot of BWV and had outlined the different views and where they were in the the resort.

Looks like you might have a canal view if you happen to be at the very end of the standard view room hallway.

Unless DVC reclassified them, there are also some SV rooms to the far left in the image above. My understanding is they were classified as SV due to the old tent-like building that was part of the sales facilities. Those rooms had virtually no view when the tent was still up.

We had a sv 2 bedroom at the end of the hallway, and it was a gorgeous view!

Not sure why I took a photo of moving trucks, but the straight-on view was the waterway and the Swolphin.

From what I've heard, a couple years prior to this photo the view would have been almost entirely obscured by the sales building. We were on the 3rd floor--room 3001. Perhaps only a handful of rooms on the lower floors over there are SV. I know at least one other person who was in a SV Studio in the same area.

They've been reclassed. I believe they points were then used at the end of the building to stretch Maria's "parking lot preferred view" over to Standard View and maybe extend some of the bad "back of the Keister Coaster" views.

Yeah, probably 3002. I know we were the last room along that hallway. Not my favorite part of the resort.

Don't these once standard view rooms now overlook a croquet lawn, therefore making DVC able to classify them as "garden-view?"

I doubt DVC could simply re-classify rooms at will and start charging more points. Ownership in any given resort is based upon the premise that the point chart is set at a certain level with little flexibility to change.

All "views" will see subtle changes over their useful life. I don't see that as valid justification for re-classifying sections of a resort that have already been added to the condo association inventory.

Crisi's post suggests that DVC may have done a swap--moving an equal number of rooms from SV to PV and vice-versa. That seems like a more sensible (and legal!) approach to take.

They may have been "eating" the points to make those standard for a few years as well and keep the compliants low - keeping the points in developer inventory - and not done a swap. Hard to tell cause all we have to go on is the reports of "I was put into this room booking standard" or "I had this room as preferred."
