With the 2008 changes to the DDP (no appetizer), does anyone know if you can still order the Abbondanza for dinner? This is the family style, for the whole table, offering. The Abbondanza includes the Assagini, Choice of One Appetizer, Two Entrees and One Dessert. I read on here that you now have to pay extra for the French Menu at Chefs De France because it includes an Appetizer. :confused3

TIA! :thumbsup2

I don't believe you can even order the French menu on the dining plan. You can order the same entree and dessert items off the regular menu and then pay for the appetizer.

I have not been to Tutto Italia but I have seen threads that say 1) you can't order the family style menu on the dining plan and 2) the family style menu doesnt exist anymore. I couldn't say if both or either of these are correct.

I didn't realize that the family style menu wasn't available anymore. The menus at wdwinfo and allearsnet are still showing it. Hmm, quite a mystery. :goodvibes

I don't know either as I've only seen posts. I have never been to the place. However it wouldn't make any sense for them to offer the family style menu on the dining plan, so I wouldn't be surprised if you can't order it. Or, if you can, that they'd charge more than one credit per person for it.

I agree with you. It sounded interesting, but certainly not a dealbreaker for eating there. Actually, with as expensive as it is, I would only eat there with the DDP. Thanks for your info.

Hello.

I had exactly the same question. On two separate calls to make ADRs I posed the following question to the cast member who helped me: "Can I order the $59 per person family-style dinner using the Dining Plan. One CM told me that it listed the dining plan covers $24-59 so it sounds like it's included. The 2nd CM put me on hold for several minutes to check and came back and said that since there is no specific mention of not being able to order it anywhere, I should be able to order it. She found it fascinating that they wouldn't have excluded it from being covered by the Plan. I'm interested to see if anyone has actually tried it!?!

I'll be going August 23rd so I won't be able to verify anything until after then...

We have eaten at Tutto's twice this year on the DDP. (And going back this summer for a third round. :goodvibes )
The first time I did not notice the grand plan (or whatver it is called). But I was not looking for it.
The second time I did not notice it on the menu at all, and I was looking for it just to see if it was an option. (Although I knew I did not want it.)
So I would not swear it is even offered. But since I was not interested in it, I wouldn't swear it's not there either. ;) However I do not recall seeing it on the menu either time.

Has anyone had the lasagne? How is it??

Two (out of 4) of us ordered the lasagna in January.
It was very good.
The sauce reminded me of the lasagna at Chefs, if that helps any.
Everything is smooth and creamy. Not hearty chunks.
Very good. I really liked it. But rather try something else.

The french menu at Les chefs is not allowed ,and when they had the Abbondanza at tutto italia it was not allowed either.

Last year the Abbondonza was allowed on the DDP last year. I think it's been off the menu all of this year though. We didn't order it nor did she recommend we do so but it was allowed. Ordering a la carte made much more sense.

I'm almost positive that we did order the French menu on the DDP in past years as it's a favorite of a couple of us. But I agree that it probably wouldn't be allowed anymore on the basic DDP since it includes an appetizer. Same for the Abbondonza.

Not allowed this year on the basic dining plan.At tutto last year I was told it wasn't allowed either( maybe it depended on the server)

My point was that it hasn't existed this year.

Not an important point, mind you. Just having fun chatting.

That's interesting that your server told you it wasn't allowed last year. What month? It was in October that we were told we could order it (experienced server). We were back at the end of Nov. and I don't even recall seeing it on the menu although it could have been.

It was Sept ( during free dining so maybe that is why)and I didn't mean to sound snarky.

Was that the first month it was open? Maybe they had second thoughts or maybe it was just a server issue.

Did you enjoy Tutto? We loved it and are returning next month. It's currently on my DH's list of mustdos.
