Has anyone heard of any news about the new Contemporary section?

We were at WDW a couple of weeks ago and progress on the new section is really moving along! I saw where a skybridge is being built between the main building.

Here are a couple of photos .....

Hasn't anyone seen the movie "Contact"? "Why not build three at three times the price?"

Thank you for the pictures! Very exciting to see how the project is progressing.

The walk over connecting the new "parking garage" ;) to the Contemporary, does anyone know where it will actually connect inside the resort? Is the walkway over the monorail or below it?

I can't seem to imagine how it is tying into the exisiting building. :confused3

You know at first it was funny, but now it just looks petty.

They removed, the asbestos, and then proceeded from there, must we really bring this up "every" time.

I had a legitimate question, I thought I could get a legitimate answer.

Its going to lead right into the door outside of BVG that currently leads to the balcony on the 4th floor. The first section of walkway was raised into place last week closest to the main tower.

Im assuming they will be making some modifications to the balcony to frame in some or all of it like the south balcony has always been.

It does tie into the 5th floor of the new building though, and may be on a bit of a slant, although I did not get out my surbeying tools :)

Construction progress update is that half the 13th(or will it be 14th) floor is completed.

Thank you, very much. I have not been over to the property in some time and just could not visualize the connection to the main building from looking at the photos. :thumbsup2

Neither... Scan the DVC boards and you'll see the original sketches for this. But the walkway is perpendicular to the monorail. It doesn't go over or under to my understanding.

Hi, It is going to be a new DVC. On our last trip we asked the security guard posted at the parking lot of the Contemporary and he told us. That is why all the changes to the inside. There is now a store/cafe like the other DVC spots. There is a walkway to the main building. Do'nt know when it is opening!:rotfl: :rotfl:

Legit questions when encased in a howling attitude of 'certainly' do not lend themselves to a label of "petty" when time proves them incorrect, despite suggestions by those whom an op may not feel has an understanding of a process which they themselves do not possess.
To some, it may look petty for an individual who rabidly promoted a position to attempt to defend themselves against a truth that they themselves didn' t acknowlege at the time they rabidly defended a given position! ;)

The asbestos was removed, anything else, I was not at liberty to discuss.

But then with your Disney connections, you know that too.

imo, disney is prone to planting red herrings of sorts...harkening back to original land purchase for WDW

i appreciate any and all rumours/inside info...don't expect it to be 100%:thumbsup2
