Great for people with low self esteem:rotfl:

Anyway BMI is really a great indicator of body weight as it doesn't take into consideration of body fat percentage. Muscle weighs more then fat, so you could be muscular but have a high BMI.

It does sound like a fun game, I will have to wait & see if my cousin or sister can afford it as they are the ones with the Wii's:thumbsup2

I got to use mine the first time this morning. :woohoo:

It was great fun (apart from telling me I'm old and fat - nothing the mirror doesn't tell me everyday anyway! )

I tried the aerobics, yoga and balance sections. It is really good at the end of each exercise it doesn't just well done and give you a score, it tells you were you can improve, ie you need to work on your balance in your right leg etc.

The more exercises you do the more you unlock and it looks like there are loads more to unlock.

I got one today and it is brilliant. My age was only 7 years more than it should be and my BMI is ideal. I was brilliant at the hula hoop and the step. Jogging was hilarious, spent most of going backwards in the room. I was hopeless at the yoga, fell off the board twice. I was good at the breathing exercise which I thought was good and a relief.

There is a really good article on MSN about the Wii Fit. I've just been reading it, it's like a 7-day diary including Wii Fit ages and more importantly this guy's heart rates for different activities. Who would have thought that playing a computer game could be so energetic?! Anyway, the link (hope this is okay to post!) is here:

Well, I've just had a play with my little Wii Fit and I love it. Not so good at the yoga/muscles sections, but loving the balance games and stuff. Step Board is my favourite game. And with a BMI of 21.56 and a Wii Fit age of 28, I don't have too much to worry about. However, if the age calculation is anything like Wii Play/Wii Sports, it's guaranteed that I'll have an Fit age of 75 by the time the weekend is over! :rotfl: Happy Wii-ing everyone! :goodvibes

I love it. I could have kissed it when it said I was my ideal bmi. The hubbie wasn't as fortunate, promptly added more fat to his little mii character.

Anyway, anything that makes exercise a fun thing to do is an excellent way to encourage people to partake in it. I am just going through it chronologically, the only one I struggle with is the press ups (at the moment).:)

Been doing a bit every day, when i can get dd off it. My favourites at the moment are the step and the rhythm boxing. This afternoon i did the Island run and it nearly killed me. 13mins in total to jog around the island. Can definitely feel pain in my calfs.

I know someone said on this thread they had reached their ideal weight but the wii was telling them they were still overweight. Remember it is only approximating your weight because you should have clothes on so can only be roughly compared unless you stand naked like you do on the bathroom scales. Anyway I hope you know what I mean.

My weight has been going up on the wii fit but on the normal scales it is static, just down to the clothes I am wearing. I hope.:rotfl:

That was me. I am not taking any notice of the weight as i know with keep going to WW i am still at goal. Thought it was quite funny really. The morning after i was 6lb lighter and then when i went on early evening it was asking me if i knew why i had gained 4lb.:rotfl:

Not tried that one but will do. Not too keen on the yoga so haven't done much on that. Yesterday i unlocked the Island run, so thought i would try it last night before i came off and it was 13 mins long. Had to sit down with a cup of tea to recuperate.Do you think the timings are accurate?

wicket2005
04-28-2008, 08:56 AM
Don't know about the timings. I would imagine the run just takes as long as you do to run it.:)

I made the mistake of holding the remote for a couple of runs, slowly goes it. If you do the recommended thing and pop it in your pocket you appear to run a lot faster (I wasn't moving my arms around that much so the movement wasn't being picked up as much).

I told my hubbie about it this morning and he found the run tons easier.
