Karate Tournament

U.S. Open is July 5 & 6, my son wants to attend. Discounts @ the Contemporary, but I'm not sure if I would like that hotel. Didn't like Chef Mickeys, or the atmosphere of the lobby. How are the rooms? Has anyone attended the tournament before? Could I just stay at a different hotel and take the monorail over to the contemporary? Or is it one of those things were you have to stay on sight all day? Any help would be appreciated.

I wouldn't base my decision on a hotel on one of the restaurants. I also do'nt care for Chef Mickey's, but truly enjoy the California Grill. You can go to numerous places on the Ineternet to see photo's of the rooms. My bet is that if you didn't like the lobby, you wo'nt like the rooms either though. The hotels that are on the monorail are the Contemporary, Grand Floridian and Polynesian. The GF and Poly will most likely be far more expensive than the Contemporary.

I can't help with the tournament itself. You'd probably be best speaking directly witht he organizers.
