My DH is going to be at CSR for a conference and we are tagging along. We were not planning on doing the parks this trip because we will be back in November for our family vacation. I wanted to get the dining plan but couldn't since we aren't buying any park tickets. Then I found out DH can get convention tickets which are a little cheaper. I would be willing to buy an after 4 pm conference ticket if it means I could get the dining plan. Since we are at CSR and the pepper market is more expensive to eat at, I really feel the dining plan will be worth it. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Unless you are an annual passholder or a DVC member, you may book the dining plan ONLY with a room/tickets package booked through Disney (or by a travel agent through Disney). Convention packages may or may not (but likely not) include the dining plan. You would have to ask through convention booking as to whether they can book a package for you or not, and if that package qualifies as a Disney room/tickets package. If the tickets and room are purchased separately, you cannot book the dining plan unless you are a DVC member staying on points.

I don't think so.Maybe someone else knows more. But I think you need a pkg to get the dining plan unless you are an Ap holder or a DVC owner

We stayed at CSR for my dh's convention in Jan. 07 and Jan. 08. We got the discounted room b/c of the convention and the convention tickets and b/c we had these already discounted deals, the DDP was not an option. I talked to a couple of different CMs on the phone and all said the same thing. You have to book the "Magic Your Way" package and add the DDP to get it. Sorry...I know how you feel...but hey... you are coming in November and CAN get the DDP, right?? ;)
