Hello everyone, we so enjoyed ADPís trip report a few weeks ago that we decided to create one for our trip which is starting today. Iím not much of a writer so please bear with me as I do my best to try and capture our trip with words and pictures. Iíll certainly be glad to answer any questions you may have as we go along.

Hereís an over view of whatís coming up in the next 11 days.
Fly out of Buffalo New York this evening 2 nights at SSR then to Vero for 3 nights, and then back to SSR. Were playing golf this trip so I invited Bob to play golf with us and he accepted so that should be a blast, were also doing a Pirates and Princess Party pirate: and ending the trip by attending the taping of the Podcast on the 4th Iím hoping they wonít mind camerasÖexcluding John of course.
Well I better get my butt in gear Iíve got the pre vacation running around to do not to mention packing. Bye for now:thumbsup2

Wow what a hectic morning, all packed and ready to roll. Just waiting for dear wife to get home from work and were off to the airport. Hopefully the border won't be to busy, got a text message from Owners Locker telling us our locker had been delivered to SSR and is waiting for us at bell services.

04-24-2008, 10:43 PM
Thursday from 39,000 feet

Were about half way to Orlando cruising along in relative comfort and Iím listening to the Podcast as Iím writing this. The flight left on time and we should be landing at 9:05. The trip to the airport was uneventful the border crossing was quick as was security at the airport. We were surprised at the number of kids on the flight since its not a school holiday, I guess people have no choice and have to do go when they can. Two more hurdles to over come picking up our luggage and the rental car and then we can relax. Thatís it for now as Iím finding it difficult to type with my elbows in my armpits. See you all later.

Well its later, midnight to be exact we stopped at Wal Mart and got some supplies and then checked in were in the Springs. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

Night all

We were surprised at the number of kids on the flight since its not a school holiday, I guess people have no choice and have to do go when they can.

and then checked in were in the Springs.

Great...The Springs is a nice location, right next to the Carriage House and High Rock Spring Pool.

I believe some schools have the last week of April off for school break. We used to go to the World the last week of April often when our Daughter was not in school. We learned pretty quickly that there are school systems with that week off.

Enjoy the day!

04-25-2008, 07:45 AM
So what was for breakfast? :goodvibes

Looking forward to the live updates. ENJOY!

What I want to know is does Bawb use kaht kam on the golf couse or just any old golf cart? :)

04-25-2008, 09:41 AM
Welcome Home!

I also love the Springs for its location advantage. I do want to try the Grandstand next week. One more week...one more week.....

We like to ease into the day when were on vacation our days of commando park touring are over. Its great to be here the sun is shining and all is right with the world. Breakfast consisted of Fresh fruit, yogurt and granola bagels and cream cheese fresh OJ and lots of coffee. We pack that up and move to the patio, read the paper and start the day. We decided to spend the afternoon by the pool with a ,few mjeeetoos We have dinner reservations at Portobello Yacht Club at 8pm and since its Grad Night at the Magic Kingdom I think weíll just hang out in Downtown Disney, West Side and Pleasure Island for the evening. I spoke with Bob to firm up our golf outing, he was in line at the new Simpson Ride at Universal doing ďresearchĒ these guys have tough Jobs Iíve attached a few pics of our travels so far.

The dog hates it when the luggage comes out

04-25-2008, 02:34 PM
Sounds like a great start - alot of schools had off this week, ours included, so that may be why so many kids.... These live TR's are great!

04-25-2008, 02:38 PM
I'm not a 100% sure, but there is a grad night pre party over @ PI i believe. I know when i went to grad night a few years ago there was a preparty over there. I'm not sure if they still do this, but you may want to check.

04-25-2008, 09:42 PM
Had a great afternoon by the pool it stayed hot and sunny all day.

Headed over to DTD for Dinner, we got there about an hour early and decided to check and see if we could get in early and to our surprise they seated us right away. The server was very pleasant and the meal was excellent.

I had the Rustica salad

04-26-2008, 08:40 PM
Hello from Vero Beach, the first thing I have to say is they don't have Internet access in the rooms so I am posting this from the veranda where they have wifi access. Its tough its 10pm at night the breeze is blowing in from the ocean I have an adult beverage and I can hear hear the waves breaking on the beach. This place is sooooo laid back it crazy what a great place to decompress. Were looking forward to a couple of days sand and surf. Its about a two hour drive from disney, our room wasn't ready so we tried a local place that was suggested from the boards for lunch Capt. Hirams right on the water and the food was great, we spent the afternoon on the beach and had dinner a Shutters again an excellant meal I had grilled snapper and Jan had a seafood salad. The following are some pics of lunch and the resort. see you tomorrow.

04-26-2008, 08:43 PM
wow looks like heaven!!! can't wait to be there

hope the rest of your trip is as lovely

04-26-2008, 09:10 PM
Love Vero! The beach looks better now then it did last October. They weren't even putting the chairs out on the beach...there wasn't enough beach!

Have you tried the Ocean Grill? Yum.

Enjoy the sun!

04-26-2008, 11:46 PM
OMG! That place looks so amazing and relaxing. I really wish I could afford to do something like that. Thanks so much for sharing that!

04-27-2008, 12:00 PM
Thank you! I loved the Pics of the beach. You made my day!

04-27-2008, 12:35 PM

04-27-2008, 06:40 PM
Sunday April 27th

Another day of sun sand and surf, the weather was beautiful today and the forecast is for more of the same tomorrow. Were going to try and get up early and watch the sunrise over the ocean, its supposed to be spectacular its also at 6:45am, something I'm sure John amd Kevin have never seen. They have a very nice Sunday brunch here which we enjoyed, it includes a glass of champagne, a bloody mary or a mogeeto I cracked up when I ordered it I'm sure the server thought I was nuts, after that it was a relaxing day in the sun tonight were going to go to the Green Cabin Room for some live jazz and a few cocktails. Hope you enjoy the pics.

04-27-2008, 06:48 PM

04-27-2008, 07:03 PM

Completely understandable...try to hang in there! I know this has really hit home for you as you were so looking forward to your golf date with Bob. Try to go anyway, as it's just seems like that's what he would have wanted you to do.

04-29-2008, 11:21 AM
I understand if you don't continue with the TR but please enjoy your Trip Bob would have wanted you to have fun just remember to buy a dole whip for him!!

04-29-2008, 09:16 PM
Tomorrow Jan and I are going to play a round of golf, Bob was supposed to be there, but he won't be. We will hopefully be playing by ourselves as there will be many tears. We plan on being at the Gaylord Palms on Sunday. This is going to be the last enrty in our trip report its just to difficult. I know you guys will understand
God bless Bob, his family and friends.

04-29-2008, 09:20 PM
Hey guys....We completely understand. Raise your glasses to Bawb and drain a long putt in his honor.

04-29-2008, 09:20 PM
I perfectly well understand. I also understand that Bob in no way would want to have your trip become a sad event. Remember him with joy, and give our love to his friends and family on the 4th.

04-29-2008, 09:21 PM
I think everyone completely understands why you wont post anymore trip report. Just remember Bawb will be looking down on you golfing, and just play a round of BAWB golf in memory of him.

Bob might not be there physically but he will be there in your hearts. I got the impression that Bob loved playing golf and I feel sure that he would want you both to have a fun and enjoy yourselves. Just make sure you play "Bawb Golf" rules!!! (And have a mogeetoe at the clubhouse.)

04-30-2008, 07:44 PM
:sad1: :sad1: Knowing you had a golf date with Bawb and him not making it ,I can fell your sadness. I understand you cant post trip reports anymore.
