I am thinking ahead to a vacation for Nov 2009. We would like to do 3 or 4 days at AK and then 3 or 4 days at VB. We have never been to VB before. Is it mainly a place to hang out at the beach or pool ? Are there activities or things for the kids to do there too? Our kids will be 9, 14, & 15 at that time. Also, to make our points stretch could we book two rooms and have them connecting instead of having to get a 2BD? Thanks for any input you have for us.

There is a lot of activities for kids at Vero Beach. It's a great place to just relax as an adult. Lots of golf too.
For only three or four days I'd go the Inn route over the 2Brm. Get connecting rooms. We love the Inn rooms, and we have two small kids. Green Cabin room is right there, the store, free laundry.

Thanks wasn't sure how it worked, since I was told you can't have connecting studios at the other DVS resorts - it is nice to know you can have connecting Inn rooms. What is green cabin room?

I do not think that the interior connecting rooms are a category, just a request, and so you are not guaranteed that you will get them. We got connecting rooms once, and hadn't asked for our rooms to connect.

The Green Cabin Room is a small little bar/lounge area on the second floor of the Main building. They have a outdoor deck area that over looks the ocean. It's great for a lite dinner and drinks.

We are doing the exact same thing at the end of June. We are doing our first three nights at Vero and back to AKV for four nights. Our two DS's ages 11 & 12 think their next trip is in December. They are going to be so surprised and DH and I can't wait to see Vero. We love the Ocean (I wonder Why). :rotfl2: We have a garden view inn room booked. Wanted the ocean view but couldn't get it.
