Hi! I'm a WISH team member, and I had decided to walk the two events for the Minnie Marathon weekend (which is part of the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women campaign) in honor of my grandmother who died two years ago. Two weeks ago, my other grandmother died, also of heart disease.
I thought maybe I could make a shirt that celebrates the event and these two women.
I would love a design for the front that incorporates the Go Red for Women, either the wording or logo, and a Minnie head (the kind with the red and white bow on the side?).
And on the back I would love something that says, "Grandmas, give me wings!" with a design that incorporates the Disney theme.
The race is next week! Does anyone have any ideas or can anyone help me? It would be greatly appreciated!
I'm planning on wearing my WISH shirt for the 15K, but I would love to be able to turn my 5K shirt into a memento of this race, my very first!
Thanks in advance for considering this.

here's what lil sis & I'm are wearing:

I need to tell you that this pix was taken BEFORE I finished ironing the transfer completely; that's why it looks grayish in spots. It turned out just fine after I completed the ironing (see DH's pix below).
and what DH's wearing:

we don't have anything ironed on the back of our shirts at this point. (I was thinking about adding: "Sisters from the start" but I'm probably the only one that appreciates my humor!
After I ironed these designs to the front of our tank tops, I learned that we're supposed to put our "bib" on the front so that's gonna pretty much cover up our designs! And so it goes! :rolleyes1
hope this gives ya some ideas! In the meantime, look for me in the "walkers" staging area and don't forget to wish my DH a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
The GARDEN STATE ROCKS despite what Jay Leno says about it!

Heartbeeps, those look AMAZING! I think some variety of the first one would work for me, and then I'd just have to find a way to put the stuff on the back.
Let me think about it, and I'll get back to you tomorrow, if that's okay.
If you check out my pre-trippie (which I'm updating soon, I swear!), you'll see me. I'll have my WISH hat on for both events, and I'll be with the walkers, too.
See you there!
And I love living at the shore! :)

oh I am NOT a dis-igner! :surfweb: NOt even CLOSE! :rotfl2: I just added the text to the designs I found on line! :laundy: They're just food for thought for your request (or for some dis-igner to pick up on). Of course, you're welcome to use any part of my idea that you see fit. (I got the blank from WDW... photobucket - sorry I don't recall their full handle.)
sorry if I misled you. BTW, I was too late to get a visor (I just found the WISH boards a few days ago!)
see ya at the Race!

Since the shirts will be covered during the race, have you considered making buttons or stickers to place on the bibs with the same DISigns?

Oh! I thought they were your original dis-igns. Sorry for the confusion!
And I thought about buttons, but then I worried about them opening, and would the extra weight pull on the bib in a way that would bother me, etc. Are you allowed to put stickers on the bib, I wonder? I don't want to get disqualified!
But this is why I wanted the message to my Grandmas to be on the back! :) Maybe if they are behind me, they can give me a push or a wind to my back!

maybe i'll wear my shirt BACKWARDS! :rotfl2:
I can't afford any additional "drag" on my pace so no extra weight in the form of buttons for me! :lmao: :lmao: (But I'd love to know how to do that!)
Duckie - how about A full pix of Minnie with an angel on each shoulder - one representing each grandma? well maybe not but maybe it'll give you another idea. I did read your pre-trip report! Wow. You go girl!

Duckie -
I just measured my shirts. The Women's "Medium" has 9.5" under the design and the Men's "Medium" has a full 12" under the design so I think there's PLENTY of room to pin our bibs below our designs on the front. (Assuming the bibs are the same size as last year and are pinned on and not going over our heads.)
Since I expect to be right in front of the sweepers, I really want my design to be on the front of my shirt so more people can read it as I am coming - don't think folks will see it after I pass and don't care to have the sweepers read it AT ALL! :rotfl2:
Here's a pix of the shirts with a ruler so you can judge for yourself if you think you'd have enough room to iron onto the front of your shirt. (Of course, with a smaller sized shirt, you'd have less room. And, if you go with a smaller design, you'd have even more room for the bib.)

hope this helps!
