We haven't decided on our length of stay as of yet. We could stay at the Fort for 10 days and take the long way home (New Orleans, Nashville....6 days to get home), or we could stay at The Fort for 14 days and drive straight home (giving us 2 overnight stops on the way home). If we decide to stay for the 14 days, can we get a 14 day MYW ticket? It's not that we plan to spend everyday, all day in the parks, but it would be nice to have the option to go everyday, but make it a shorter day and have the rest of the day at The Fort.

Really, 10 days is all you can get on a MYW.

I was thinking the same thing, 14 days, you may as well get the AP, and then you have an excuse to go back again before the AP expires. Sounds like a win win to me!

LOL. I looked into the prices. It would be WAY more money than the 10 day MYW ticket.

Add a 10 day, and a 4 day, I bet they are close, plus then you get a discount at a lot of WDW for having an AP, I am not sure I think the Fort even discounts with AP. Might be worth it.

You can get an AP discount at the Fort. I got my forst AP this year and I'm looking forward to putting it to good use this year!
We're planning to go to the Fort for 12 days and the kids will only have 10 day passes...we're looking forward to relaxing at the Fort for a couple of days! :goodvibes

If you will PM me I will tell you about my experience with the 10 day no expiry/hopper this past Oct. :thumbsup2 Lets just say we bought it to use 5 and save 5 for a trip this year. Well, we used it for 10 days in 10/07, 10 days in 1/08 and will use it again in June(hopefully) and August of this year...exchanged them for AP's.:cool1: I have some price comparisons for you if you are interested. Never thought I would have an AP or be able to use one. LOVE IT!
Amy
Forgot to mention that we got money back at the gate when we exchanged them! WOW!

A trick with the AP's is to go back next year a couple of weeks earlier. That way both trips come out of the same year long pass.
You could also get 10-day MYW tickets with the "Fun and More" options, which would give you 10 additional water park, DisneyQuest days.
mousesavers.com has a great comparision of the various ticket options.
Good luck,
David

Yup, my AP will last for three trips of 24 days in total.
I think you can get longer passes in the UK, but only there.

Thanks so much for mentioning this. I didn't even know this option existed. I think this is they way we'll go. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll make it back again within a year.

Just to complicate things for you, if you buy an annual pass you would then have the option of buying into the Disney Dining Plan, it's a discount plan for disney food where you pay for the discount card and use it for % off your bill. We use this and you may want to do some math on this and see if it would work for your situation.

We've done that like 4 times where we go for 30 days in Dec/Jan and then get back before it expires for another 30 days. We've done this skipping a year or two between our Disney Fix. This AP we're on we will get 90 days from a single AP spread over two 45 day stays at FW.

I have to vote for the AP, too. We have 4 kids, and the prices of tickets were killing us every time we wanted to take an impromptu trip to DW.:scared1: We bought 1 AP a month, and now put money aside all year for renewals. We will use our Aps 30 times by the end of December with the 3 trips we have planned. (It would have been more but our Easter trip was canceled because of snow days!) Good luck with your decision.

The non-expiring tickets lasted us two trips and we still have a couple of water park days left.
Adding the water parks really extends your trip because you don't need to go to a major park every day but it's fun to have something else to do outside FW.
I believe that adding the non-expiring option costs more now than it did originally, so it might not be worth it.
