I know this was posted a while back, but I can't get the search thingie to work. Does any one know what Mickey says for the wake-up call in the mornings? I wanted to include this in my trip report. Thanks so much!!! :D :D :D

I love that wake-up call. He says "Up and at 'em pal! Ooh, boy, are we glad you're here. Big doins goin on so lets get started. See ya real soon! [giggle]" I hope I'm right. Maybe I'd better listen to it another 10 times or so next time I'm there to be sure.
What a cute idea. Does every resort have this. We are staying at the CR in July and I would love for Mickey to wake us up. Is there a charge for this service.

I have no idea what Mickey says, as I hung up on him when he called me at 5:14 AM :D

Here is a link to all sorts of wonderful Disney sounds -- including the Mickey wake-up call: Disney World - The Unofficial Online Guide (http://www.wdisneyw.co.uk/sounds.html)
On that webpage, look for the words "Resort wake-up call," and then click on the link to hear what Mickey has to say when he calls your Disney resort room.

Yes, I believe this is available at all on-site Disney resorts. It's Disney's version of the hotel automated phone wake-up service.

dg39, it's free! Some people say that it doesn't always work if you pick a common time , say on the hour or half hour. So pick an odd time like 7:07. I like it so much I set my alarm so I'm fully awake to hear it. And I hear there might be a special Happy birthday message-going to check on that this trip. By the way, I thank these boards for knowing about it. Nine trips before I knew of it.
Two more things, on phones that have a speaker button at the bottom, push that when you answer so everyone can hear it, and sometimes it takes several seconds before he starts talking so jusst wait.

I have this on my pc and burned it onto a cd. My clock radio has a cd option to it, so each morning I get woken up to Mickey telling me "Up and At Em." If you are interested in this, I can e-mail you the .wav. Just let me know! :earsgirl:  :earsboy:

We always use the wake up call -- it's a great way to start the morning.... Mickey always sounds like he's had a few too many cups of coffee :D !!
I just wanted to mention that if you pick up your phone and hear music, it seems that you have to say "hello" loudly enough to trigger the message.... the first time I used the service, I could hear the music when I lifted the receiver and didn't say anything -- I was really disappointed that it wasn't Mickey :(... then I learned the secret!
Someone mentioned the birthday call -- we've used this in the past also, but it works differently than the wake up call. You have to call the resort operator (use any house phone anywhere on property) and have the person nearby -- ask for the goofy birthday message and bring the birthday person to the phone; the message will start when they say "hello". We did this for my hubby and he loved it!

If you want to download it, please go to the webpage that I mentioned above (actually, here it is again -- Disney World -- The Unofficial Online Guide (http://www.wdisneyw.co.uk/sounds.html)), right click on the "Resort wake-up call" link, select "Save Target As..." and save the WAV file to your hard-drive. Pretty easy, eh?!
