what is it with these restaurants, when looking on allears at the menus, they seem to serve everything with mash potatoes :confused3, granted either with cheese or garlic or something else, it seems you can only get chips with burgers, what has happened to the good old steak and chips or salad.

I choose dishes just to get the mash, but I know what you mean it can get to much after a while.

If you are eating at a Disney Rest. you will be able to subsitute any of the other potatoes / rice etc that they have on the menu.

my husband loves mash, i can either take them or leave them, but if it is a hot hot day and i have steak i like just a salad, easier to digest when the weather is to hot. i think even my husband would get fed up of having mash every day.

Even any off site restaurant you can always ask to substitute the mash.My hubby does'nt really like mash, especially there's, so he always asks for rice, salad or fries.Where as me i can't get enough of there mash-i always ask to change from fries etc.. to get there mash especially the garlic mash+there jus(gravy to me+you). They are both so different to what we have here.Ohh to be eating that now.x.

my dh is a mashaholic -especially Logans, Dennys, KFC & Chillis. TGI's is pants because they have cheesy mash & you cant get it without cheese. The wee souls mouth is watering just thinking of it - just as well we only have 20 sleeps left before we go!!!!

I love Denny's mash, but the best mash+gravy for me has to be Golden Coral(i know it's a bit downmarket),served up with there prime rib.x.

I don't like chips (other than proper home-made ones), so I'll often ask for mashed potatoes instead (depending on what it is, of course - I wouldn't go for mash with a burger  ). Dh is the opposite. He doesn't understand a meal without chips (on holiday, at least - he gets what he's given at home!)

I don't particulary like chips so I don't mind mash having said that it has to be steak and chips for sure.

I could have sworn we had proper chips (stouffers) at Liberty Tree and I think in the past we had them at Columbia Harbour House. Has anyone asked to substitute the mash for chips?

I absolutely love the mashed potato's they serve in the States, like many I prefer them to chips. Yum. My DH has substituted them many times for chips though without a problem:)

I used to like the mash at Tuskers in AK, but have not been there for a while, it came with the half rotisserie chicken and it was full of bacon bits a few chives and potato skins mmmm.....went down lovely with the chicken gravy which actually tasted of chicken not grey mushy stuff.

I am the same, it's impossible to imagine any feast without some potato involved, preferably chips!
I am a plain eater and the thought of garlic in anything is enough to make me feel ill - having worked with a couple of people who reek of the stuff the next day being one of the prime reasons I can't stand it.

Nearly fainted when Joshua's teacher confirmed he "likes garlic bread and often eats the other children's".
