View Full Version : What do you REALLY Want to Do at WDW, but Haven't Yet?

Since most of here seem to be experienced Disney trippers, I was just wondering what do you really want to do at WDW, but just haven't made it to yet? I have a couple.......

1. I have tried my last 3 trips to make it over to AK Lodge just to check it out
not even to eat, I just want to see it and look around but I have yet to make it over there.

2. I really, really want to go to Scoop's Pin Talk at MK Exposition Hall, but haven't been able to work it time wise on my last 4 trips.

3. Not a small thing, but I REALLY want to do the big Backstage Magic Tour, but since it's an all day thing I haven't been able to. I WILL do it on my first solo trip though and it is looking like that will be in May of 2009.

4. Lastly, I've always wanted to meet Mickey in his Sorcerer's costume, but didn't make it when he was at the Studios, they closed it, but I hear he might be back? And I hope to see him on our trip this October.

I'm sure there is more, but these are the ones that I have on a list. The list was longer, but I managed to tick some things off my last 2 trips.

I have really wanted to sign up for the surfing experience at Typhoon Lagoon.

Taking the keys to the kingdom tour would be need too!

Staying in a cabin at Ft Wildeness has been on my top 7 as well.

There are so many things I still want to do at the parks. Every time I go I try to do something I haven't done before. I have only done one of the tours so there are plenty left to do.

Got a group of folks who I'm running with in the half-marathon that have vowed to make me ride it! Once I get this experience in, I'll move on to wanting for the cool backstage tours and such!

Every trip I take, I make it a point of working in new experiences, new restaurants, new resorts, etc.

I've done many of the tours, eaten at most of the restaurants, visited/explored ALL of the resorts, That being said, I have several "firsts" planned for my annual Sept/Oct trip.

I'm running in a Disney 5K, taking the DiveQuest Tour (if I can get Open Water certified in time), doing the Segway Around the World Tour, and experiencing Party For The Senses (with some new DIS friends!)

Along with many repeat restaurants, I'm eating for the first time at Yak & Yeti, Chef de France and Yachtsman Steakhouse (those last two, thanks to Kevin's insightful reviews).

For me, the ability to find new things to experience each and every trip is one of the things that makes WDW so special!!

Love this question!

One thing I would want to do is stay for longer than 3 nights! I've been several (about 8?) times in the last 12 years, but always only for short trips. They've been a lot of fun, and I know I'm lucky to have gone on these trips, but someday I would love to be there for a week or more. This would give me the time to do some of the things I've wanted to do!

Then I would definitely want to go on at least one behind-the-scenes tour, dine at Victoria and Albert, spend some time just relaxing by a beautiful resort pool, and perhaps indulge in a spa service!

1.I would like to see Wishes. With an infant, we are usually back at the
resort by the time it starts.

2. Stay at the Poly

3. Sometime when my DD is older, I would like to do Tea at the GF

I was trying to get DH into the spirit and asked him this question. The only answer he could say was Universal. Universal over Disney?! I don't think so. :)

1. I'm not "dying" to do this - but we have never taken the time to ride the steam boat at Liberty Square. I would like to.
2. I would like to stay at the Contemporary.
3. I really want to try some of the tours. We have been putting these off until DS gets older. Well he turns 10 next month, so we are thinking that next year will be the year. (no time this year as we are only going to be at the world for 3 days before taking the cruise).

Fun thread!

We've been so many times and always try to do something new each trip, hard to believe there are lots of things yet to be explored, but there are!

Some on my list:

Stay at Wilderness Lodge Villas (one of our home DVC resorts, but we've never stayed there yet - too hooked on BCV).
Eat at Victoria and Alberts (had ressies once for an anniversary, but I got sick and we had to cancel).
rent a water sprite boat at one of the marinas.
Eat at Cinderella's Royal Table (maybe in December it will happen).
Keys to the Kingdom Tour
Segway tour at FW

I hope everyone gets to check a few more things off their lists on their next trip!!:thumbsup2

What a cool thread idea!

I have a ton of things I want to do and haven't had the chance. I am trying to get a couple in every trips to ex them off my list. I always know I will be back the next year to try new things. :) Here are just a few...

1. Stay at every Disney hotel.
2. Eat at every Disney CS & TS.
3. Chef's Table at Victoria & Albert's
4. Long Spa Day at Grand Floridian Spa
5. Keys to the Kingdom Tour
6. MNSSHP & MVMCP...at least I get to cross the MNSSHP off my list this year
7. Party for the Sense @ F&W...hopefully will cross this one off this year, too!

And one day, one day I'll get my magical Disney wedding at the Wedding Pavilion. :)

Are you wanting to do dinner or lunch with an Imagineer? We did Lunch with an Imagineer last September - we booked last minuted and there were still only seven people total at our lunch. Originally, we were going to do dinner but that is only every other Thursday and our trip fell on the wrong week. So we ended up having a fabulous dinner at Artist Point without an Imagineer :)

Eat dinner at Ohana

We also have some places we go or things we do every time :cool1:

Yachts Man Steakhouse
The British Invasion / Rose and Crown at Epcot
Beaches and Cream

I finally was able to take "Adventurers Club" off my to-do list last fall. Now I'll not miss it again on any WDW trip. Kungaloosh, bay-bee!

Did the Segway tour, now have to do the Ft Wilderness version.

Agree with the "never been to AKL." I want to eat at Jiko this December trip.

In just 380ish days, about to take "Disney Cruise" off the list with the Podcast team and a bunch of freaks (read: people who are like me)... :thumbsup2

Good thread... making me think. ouch.

Ooh I love this thread. I try to make sure I do at least one new thing every trip.

My list includes:
water parks - one or both - haven't done either
stay in the Contemporary
backstage tours
Splash Mountain
Expedition Everest
Lights Motor Action

So far for my next trip, the only thing really new for me will be Breakfast at Norway. (have done lunch and dinner there.) We are travelling with first timers so we are doing a lot of our favourites but the stretch limo taking us from the airport to the Poly to kick off our trip is a first too!

The big one for my list would be to have the honour of taking my nephew for his first trip. He is 12, and he is my "Anthony". He is an artist & dreams of becoming a Disney animator. He can't go for a bunch of reasons until he is 16. I would love to be there with him. He knows that I am the one in the family who really gets it. His Mom likes Disney, but he has the gene.

And Stroller Boy - I can sympathize. I was afraid of SM as a child, but once I was determined to ride it, it wasn't until last fall that I finally made it!!!
Love it!

It won't be offered the Thursday we are visiting so our only choice is lunch - which give me an excuse for Cobb Salad.
Mom loves Artist Point (I have never been) but it is really close to my regional cusine and she knows this is my opportunity to sample other cuisines I can't get at home. I offered it to her but she said she liked the other options.

You're going to love it - they give you a custom menu with your name on it. Not all the normal menu items on on it but, if I remember correctly, Cobb Salad was one of the choices. You also get a commorative plate signed by the Imagineer. Our imagineer was working on the renaming of MGM and his wife had just wrapped up the HM refurb. Great fun!!

They started to get too close to my daughter last year and she tried to club one with a turkey leg! I can't believe I didn't get a picture of that! Instead we were trying to teach her to be nice to animals.....somehow I think we missed out on that one..LOL

I have never seen the Spectro parade- but I will definitely experience it on our next trip!

I want to stay at the Boardwalk Inn (or pretty much any Deluxe). I just can't bring myself to spend the $$ at this point in my life. Maybe in a few years when we have more income...

I really want to eat at Jiko and explore the AKL- it looks like such a lovely resort.

I'd love to take a 2 week long vacation at WDW so I could really take my time and see everything without commando-ing the whole time.

I'd like to experience the Christmas activities around the WS in Epcot- we've never been to WDW in December.

Next time you are going to WDW, check out the rent/trade board for DVC and rent points - The Boardwalk (our favorite) is one of the properties you can stay at the depending on the season, the points can be as low as 10 a night (so if you rented points at $10/pt, the hotel could be as low as $100 a night!)

I REALLY want to to Jellyrolls and the adventuours club, but how old do you have to be? I will be 20 when i next go, which means i wont be a 'legal adult' in the US even though i already am in the UK, which sucks.

I really want to stay anywhere on the monorail link

I also want to do a character breakfast, but since we are all 'adults' now, we get worried how they will react.

I want to stay at Yacht club and try out Storm-along-bay

Watch a parade (haven't done since i was 7)

Eat at the brown derby, since it gets such rave reviews from you guys!

Have a carriage ride (planned for 2010)

Where to begin?!

1) The Keys to the Kingdom Tour
2) I have a goal to stay at all the Deluxe and Moderate resorts. No offense to the Value resorts - we just feel they are marketed towards couples with kids. We are just starting out.
3) Eat at Victoria & Alberts
4) DCL land and sea trip
5) Actually spend a whole day at the resort getting the royal treatment with room service and treat my Princess to a spa package
6) Spend a whole day at DTD
7) Shark Reef at TL
8) A different character breakfast every morning during our stay
10) The scooba tour at the living seas once my Fiance is a certified open water diver
11) A Disney trip just with my Pop and I
12) A Disney trip with my Mother and Stepfather

There's much more...lets see if we can accomplish some of this first!!

Wow! There are so many things, but to start:

1) Mannequins . . . The last time I went to Pleasure Island was on my Disneymoon in '98. I was 20 y.o. and not allowed in.:furious: I just can't help but wonder what is going on in there as opposed to the other clubs that I was allowed in.:confused3 Sometimes the curiousity is enough to drive me insane, and now that I have kids, I don't get a chance to go. Any answers to my quandry are welcome since it may be a long time before I can finally find out what is going on in there!

2) Atlantic Dance Hall:dance3:

3) Jellyrolls:rotfl:

4) Stay at the Grand Floridian (or actually any monorail resort):cloud9:

5) Expedition Everest:scared:

I'd love to attend Star Wars Weekend but we tend to avoid WDW from June - end of Sept.

I'd also love to do some of the tours but suppose I'll have to wait until the kids are older.

And I'd love to be able to be the Flag Family at WL just once. Ok... I'd also like to get a free upgrade at a resort just once.

And I'd like to definately take a cruise!!

Wow, what a wonderful thread! There is so much to do at Disney, it will take me years and years to get to all my To Do Items, but thats the beauty of it isn't it?:thumbsup2 We try and do a few things each trip that are new and September's trip is no exception.
This trip's new things are:
1. Divequest for DH
2. Renting water mice for the DS's
3. Using the Neverland Club
4. Sig. Dining at Artist's Point
5. Playing min. golf
6. Making Rope Drop a few times
7. Watching Wishes from the Poly beach
What are still left to do:
Dine at every Signature Dining they have including V&A
Stay at every Deluxe Resort eventually, if you can pull me away from the Poly!
Parasailing
Spa Day all day for me!
And so many more that I can't think of yet!
One for the girl's trip in January is the Adventurer's Club for sure!:thumbsup2

1. Vow Renewal at Disney World Probably for our 10th or 20th wedding anniversary. We're on our 5th this year. ;)

2. Fireworks cruise to see Wishes

3. See Cirque Du Soleil at DTD

4. have dinner at California Grill

The list is long, but this gives you an idea....

1. Actually take my time at the parks and be able to soak in all the details rather than rush through it all
2.Take a hotel picture tour and visit them all
3.Propose

Here here for the couples only trip. My only fear is when our kids are old enough to stay home DH will see this as an out to not go anymore.:sad2:

I would love to explore the parks with just my husband b/c there are quite a few little hidden things that a 5 and 4 year old have no patience for.

Something else I wanted to do but have never had the chance: Take an Illuminations Cruise or a Wishes Cruise. These just sound awesome to me!
