Ok...I'm still unsure about this, but I'm goin for it :woohoo:

I don't know if I'll have NEARLY enough info to fill a pre-trip report until Sept. but here are the basics:

People:
Me: 41 yrs old and told the hubby that last year's Sept. trip was a "once in a lifetime" and we wouldn't be going back..enjoy it!

Within 3 days of returning....I was hooked~planning another Sept. trip including.... MY MOM! (Hubby started a new job and won't get vacation time until Dec. 2008:)

Mom: 62 now~63 at time of travel~in excellent health and READY:yay:

Nov. 2007...told Mom of my "plan" and starting hoping for "free dining" :rolleyes1

Feb. 2008 made "official" reservations for me and Mom (62yrs old will be 63 at time of travel) I will STILL be 41 :rotfl: CBR 7 days of Park hoppers no Waterparks (we DO NOT look good in swimsuits)

March 2008....made ADR's....still hoping for free dining :)

April 2008....got.....FREE DINING!!!!

Now..the REAL planning begins...can a NEWBIE and her Mom do it???
Stay tuned:scared:

(Pics will follow as I figure 'em out ;))

Great picture! Since I will soon be moving to FL, I can't wait for my Mom to come see us so we can go to the world. We would always got to Six Flags at least once a year.

I have the same issue with photos.:confused3

Looking forward to more.

Just in case you're interested:)

Traveler #1: Me...I'm Shannon~I work fulltime as an HR Asst. (aka Mother) to about 70 boys *ahem* I mean men:lmao: who repair coal mine equipment. There are 5 of us "womenfolk" who keep the rest of the bozos in line;) I live in WV, but work in PA. AND I do wear shoes....well to work anyway:laughing: All kidding aside, I love my job and especially the people I work with~they are THE BEST! They miss me when I'm on vacation because they're worried some one will mess up payroll....it's so nice to be missed:rolleyes1 I am an ACTUAL Mother to my wonderful 18 yr old (how did he get that old?!?!) son, who lives with his Dad in the DC area.

I've been happily married to Sam for 13 yrs, who, sadly, will not be making this trip to WDW...much to his dismay:sad2: He started a new job in Dec. and won't have vacation time until this Dec.! Instead he will be staying home with our 4-legged children (who never ask to drive our car or for money:)) Daisy and Jake. They are mutts....who do ask for dog biscuits and "people food" daily....Sam is more than happy to oblige...so they are pretty happy he's staying home with them!

Sam and I took our first trip together to WDW in Sept. 2007 with his sister and her husband and 5 other couples. It was Sam's first time to the World, although I had been twice before...once when I was 6 yrs old and again when I was 19. I warned him that this "would be a once in a lifetime trip" so he should enjoy it....and that WDW was mostly geared towards families and kids:sad2: WELL....that lasted until we walked through the MK gates....and I was a goner:love: Luckily....so was Sam!:woohoo: We IMMEDIATLY decided we would have to come back:rolleyes1

Here we are:

http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll150/wvwoman67_photos/Disney/DisneyTrip2007137.jpg

Sam is actually from PA....although you wouldn't know it from this pic...he's doing his best "redneck" impression:rolleyes: I am WV born and bred;)

AND here are our puppies...(ok, ok, they are 10 and 7 yrs old:lmao: )
Daisy is a Boxer/Lab and Jake is a wire-haired terrier mix

http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll150/wvwoman67_photos/Disney/valleyfallscreek012.jpg

As soon as I figured out Sam wouldn't be taking any vacations for awhile....my brain started working....who would I like to spend time with at Disney:confused3 ....who has vacation time.....MOM!!!!:lovestruc

Traveler #2: My much-loved MOMMY!!! She lives in NC with my Dad, who is retired. Shortly after Dad retired.....Mom went to work fulltime....coincidence? (I think not:lmao: ) They have been happily married for almost 42 yrs. She works in a factory and is in excellent health (and could probably kick my butt if need be:scared:) AND we were LONG overdue for a Mother/Daughter Vacation:woohoo:

Here is June...aka Much-Loved Mommy with Dad (also Much-Loved) on their last cruise (or the one before....I'm not sure~they take a cruise every year:) ): Ohhhhh to be retired and/or have lots of vacation time!

http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll150/wvwoman67_photos/Disney/momdad.jpg

(I've resized this one 14 gazillion times?!?!:confused3 )

Ok....up next.....the Planning Stage....which started MONTHS before I even clued DM in.....:scared1:

Thanks for the background. We lived in the DC area for awhile and we drove into WV a couple of times. Went to a craft fair, but I can't remember the name of the town. I always wanted to just drive through the mountains in WV but never did. What I saw was just gorgeous.

Love your 4 legged children. They are so cute.

It MAY come to that!!! My small WV town does not have HD!?! HOWEVER....there are two...one 15 miles south of here and one about 10 miles from work in PA. Plus I'm trekking to the DC area for my son's prom and graduation next month where there are a multitude of HD's:) Those Mickey Heads are definitely on "the list"

Ok....the confession....I...hate....to shop:scared1: I know, I know, it's not right...it's WRONG! BUT, I blame working in retail for 12+ years:headache:
The mall is my nemesis~I do as much shopping online as I can;) but I HATE the shipping charges....although with gas prices as they are....it almost evens out considering the closest mall is 20 miles away!
I have yet to buy...ANYTHING?!?! for the upcoming trip:sad2:
BUT, I am planning some cool matching Mother/Daughter matching Disney shirts for Mother's Day gifts~ Pics will follow....eventually (did I mention I was the Queen of Procrastination?:rotfl2: )

OT: Today was "yardwork day"....well it was for DH:rolleyes1 I kinda hung out and took pictures, cuz I'm lazy like that on my days off:laughing:

Here is why I LOVE yardwork days:
(we live on the banks of the Monongahela River in someone's former fishing cabin...uhhhh shack LOL )

http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll150/wvwoman67_photos/4-24-08020.jpg

"Hoover Duck"!!!! He shows up every April and today was his first day here...on the roof...looking for a handout:)

Hoover Duck's history...he is "Hoover Duck" because he lands on our roof and "hoover's up" all the excess birdseed that falls out of the birdfeeders

He is the former boyfriend of "MamaDuck" who hasn't shown up for a couple years now:sad1: I don't want to think why......she was REALLY special....here are a couple pics of her:

with her boyfriend:
http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll150/wvwoman67_photos/5-13-06007.jpg

with me:) :

with DS:
http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll150/wvwoman67_photos/ducks066.jpg

Ok...ok...enough of the ducks...but I must warn you....the Canadian Geese are sitting on eggs...even as we speak! There will be pics (they are SO cute):) Remember...my trip is not until Sept....:rolleyes1

Here is why I hate yardwork:

http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll150/wvwoman67_photos/4-24-08029.jpg

EEEEEEKKKKK! Snakes! :scared1: (who knew?! living on the river and all:confused3 )

Alright....I promise more Disney stuff this weekend....ADR's....as they stand now:rolleyes1 I'm thinking about making some changes and need suggestions....I'm counting on you all!:flower3:

Here is what I've made....my question is....The Brown Derby is 2 TS credits....which leaves us one table service credit short (Free Dining:cool1: )
Should we keep The Brown Derby (which I've heard RAVE reviews about...Maryann?:thumbsup2 )and pay OOP for one of the other TS? Should we cancel one of the TS and eat CS for one of the evening meals? (Not a big deal to us) Although... even though Le Cellier IS at 8:50pm...we're keeping that one;)

The Plan (as it stands)

Sat. 9/13 Coral Reef
Sun. 9/14 1900 Park Fare
Mon. 9/15 The Brown Derby
Tues. 9/16 San Angel Inn
Wed. 9/17 Le Cellier
Thurs. 9/18 50's Prime Time Cafe
Fri. 9/19 The Garden Grill

Ok...give me your opinions:rolleyes1

Here are some more pics from our Sept. 2007 trip.....

All of the couples at Kennedy Space Center (Sam & Myself on the far right)
I still don't know why I let him buy those shorts:sad2:

Wish I could help on the ADR's, but I have only eaten at The Coral Reef, which was ok, but we aren't big fish people, and also 50's Prime Time which was one of my favorites on our last trip.

The pictures from your home are so cool. Love Hoover Duck. I have a little bird that pecks at his reflection in our windows, including 7:00am. It is his third year to come visit us.

Looking forward to more!

Yikes! I have such a bird phobia...just looking at the pics of you and your DS with the ducks scares me!

And the snake...don't even get me started!

Those are the two animals that scare me in this world...snakes and birds.

Your Disney pics are great! The annoyed look on your face in the one pic brings to mind the looks on everyone's faces as I incessantly snap away with my camera on all trips! But they sure do love the pics at the end of the trip!

Hi Melissa!

Mom and I aren't HUGE fish people either...ok I'm not:confused3 I love Mrs. Paul's and Long John Silvers though:rotfl2: We are looking forward to the fish tanks though~Sounds like 50's Prime Time was hit with you guys though!

Don't ya love the birds that just keep coming back? We have a flock of about 20 sparrows that hang outside the window where the bird feeders are....they stare in the window if the feeders are empty...like they're threatening us:lmao:

Well, this week was just plain NUTS!

I am JUST now getting my DIS fix for the week:surfweb:

Here are some updates and some more pics from the last trip though;)

UPDATES:

Well....the "Queen of Procastination" (that's me) did NOT come through with the Mother/Daughter shirts for Mother's Day:sad2: HOWEVER, Mom's birthday is coming up so there is still hope:rotfl:

I STILL haven't made any changes to the ADR's yet.....I think I'm going to wait until Maryann gets back and hear some more food reviews....SHE gets to go NEXT WEEK the lucky dog!!!! Here is her PTR:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1803422

I am still open to ALL suggestions though~so have at it!

I still need to do the following:rolleyes1 :

Call and add our flight info for Magic Express

Possibly make changes to ADRS

Probably buy some new summer clothes...unless I can starve *ahem* diet and exercise back down to the size I was last summer:rolleyes:

Get the matching Mother/Daughter shirts for our trip

and probably a whole plethora (my 50 cent word for the day:laughing: ) of things I haven't even thought of!!!!

Dear wvdisluv2:

Love your pictures. DH and I will be in WDW Aug 29th- Sept 13th. Usually my parents are with us but they have too much going on this year. They did let us know that they would be happy to go with us next year if we asked them. (lol).

My two sisters just came back two weeks ago from WDW. They stayed at the POFQ. Thats one of our favorite places to stay in Disney. My sisters ate at the Coral Reef, Le Cellier, and the 50's PrimeTime Cafe. They really enjoyed them all especially Le Cellier. They liked their food at the 50's Prime Time but were disappointed in the lack of participation their server had as far as the theme of the restaurant goes. DH and I both enjoy 50's PrimeTime Cafe and we are going to try Le Cellier for the first time since it changed from being a buffateria, many, many years ago. We ate at Coral Reef 22 yrs ago on our honeymoon, enjoyed it but haven't been back soon. My sisters did however eat there on their trip and had a great meal.

By the way I too hate shopping and I shop on line all the time. It can be a bit dangerous sometimes because I don't have all those clothes I might be buying weighing down my arm, or right in front of me like at a regular store.

I'm really excited for you and your mother, it will really be a trip of a life time and the memories will last forever!! Doesn't it feel good to do special things for them if you can? My DH and I always joke around that my parents are our children, (we do not have our own, not our plan) because we ask them to go to alot of different things with us. My husbands parents are very nice too. My father-in-law is just not a big WDW fan. So we do other things with them. At any rate its always special to be with them. Plus my three cats aren't real thrilled with us giving a MOUSE all the attention in front of them.

Keep up your pre-trip report. I have 7 more days to read it before I go to
WDW. I'll pack that last night before I go away, and ,decide where my husband is going to pick me up at the airport and then I'll read more of your report after I'm done with all that.popcorn::

Leave it to you to see Mickey in a toilet. :rotfl:

I've been wondering where you have been all week! There's a lady on Ebay that sells these really cute stick person Disney shirts, I think I'm going to order them for our August trip.

You look a lot happier than I usually do at Indiana Jones, I'm usually hot and grumpy or if it's not hot I'm sitting by some hell child whose parents don't care. It never fails.:headache:

Hi Timmy!!!! Yes! Let's hope that's the "only hidden" in this pic;)

Glad eveyone is enjoying the pics!! (They're all I've got at this point:rotfl2: )

Maryann is back!!!

http://disboards.com/showthread.php?p=24698514#post24698514

I am cutting her some slack since she's not feeling well~I STILL think it is "Disney Withdrawel" but I can hardly wait to hear/see her/flat brats updates:cool1: (I've already checked into "Flat Daisy/Jake's";) )

Here are some pics of the cool stuff sent by Maryann and the Brats to Daisy and Jake (and ME!) The "Queen of Procratination" still has a bag of stuff sitting in the "Dryer Room" (Don't ask~yes, our dryer has it's OWN room:rotfl2: Ok...ok...it shares a room with Sam's electronic drums) waiting to go to the Brats!

http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll150/wvwoman67_photos/3-26-08026.jpg

Disney News....I've added our Flight info for Magic Express (take THAT "Queen of Procrastination"!!!!:lmao: )

I STILL haven't made any changes to ADR's .....Mom has questions about San Angel Inn (we are Tex-Mex kinda gals:goodvibes ) So we MAY do counter service that night and cancel San Angel Inn.....
Mom is leaning towards the buffets~any suggestions?????

Ok, Non-Disney stuff (Remember, we're not going until Sept:confused3 )

My DS got a tattoo :scared1: !!!! Tattoos kinda scare me....possibly because it's my "baby" and my fear of pain:rolleyes1 But he IS 18 and the tattoo is very meaningful to us both:

http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll150/wvwoman67_photos/P4250047.jpg

Sammy is my step-son/DS's stepbrother, who died in a car accident in 2002 at age 22. He and DS were very close, and the tattoo is his way of keeping Sammy with him always.

Ok...More Sept. 2007 Disney pics:)

I'm not a tattoo person myself, but how can you argue that one. That's a nice way of remembering his stepbrother.

Keep the pics coming. Really enjoying your PTR.

I'm just now catching up, I love those pics of you and the babies. :)

I can't do tattoos, I almost die when I have to have blood taken. I like it though and I like the sentiment behind it. It looks nicely done too. I would have liked to have seen your face when you first saw it. :upsidedow

I haven't eaten at San Angel in a few years...I used to really like it several years ago but the last couple times weren't great IMO. Plus I have issues of being shoved together that tightly in tables, but I have issues period. ;) If you're looking for true Tex-Mex this isn't it. It's a very cool atmosphere in there though, I just think it would be better without the party next to us close enough to kiss. :rotfl:

I hear ya~I'm tattooless myself....I'm sure that I'm allergic to needles:rolleyes1 I'm figuring he thought "what can Mom say?" too:confused3

Don't worry, I'll need your trip to re-live mine when I get back! Sometimes working with 70 men is like being "the Mom" to 70 men:lmao:

Ohhhh the look on my face WAS priceless:eek: , despite being told in advance~He actually designed/drew it himself! (he's quite the artist...unlike his Mom:rolleyes: )

Hmmmmm.....methinks we may rethink San Angel~but now that free dining is out, I'm wondering how hard it would be to make changes to ADRS....

what a nice tribute in that tattoo.
scary gator!!!!!!!

great update and pics.

Hey Lady! Good to "see" ya! I stayed inside the condo while Sam snapped those gator pics....I watched from the window~Thank God for zoom lenses!:sad2:

Well, I'm off to catch up on some PTR and TR reading! (when I should be cleaning;))
