Now I know most of you don't watch this show and some have never heard of it, I still have to make this thread :p
In the UK, the 4th series started 2 weeks ago, now it's starting in the USA tonight (I don't know when it's on in Canada though...) with the christmas episode (???) Voyage of the Dammed. The doctor finds himself on a spaceship modelled on the Titanic that is heading for Earth. Has Kyle Minogue as the assistant. Starts 8:00 EST on the Sci Fi channel, so record it if you can't watch it!
After that, it starts at 9:00 (the spin-off of Doctor Who called the Sarah Jane Smith Adventures starts next week at 8:00 instead. That was a rather interesting show, though it's more for children.)
For those who don't know what it is, Doctor Who is a sci-fi show about a Time Lord called the Doctor who travels through time and space in his spaceship called the Tardis (Time And Relative Dimensions In Space) which is shaped like a Police Box. If you've never watched it, just record this episode to watch to see if you like it. If so, there are bits that may confuse you if you haven't seen every episode, but it's still easy to follow. It's mainly references to past events happening or to past characters.
Hoping this thread gets more then a page of replies :)

Doctor Who's on tonight with the Planet of the Oods :)
The Oods are rather freaky... Comes from one of the scariest eps of Doctor Who... Been rated a 5/5 for scariness (by the Fear Forecasters, who are 4 children who watch the episode in advance and rate how scary it is)
Looking foreward to it :)
How was the Voyage of the Dammed you guys?

So that's what it's about. I've always wondered about that show lol.
So it comes on at 8? Like, 8 for all time zones, or 8 for someone else and 9 for me?
marypops!
04-19-2008, 01:06 PM
it was 8:00EST for this episode because it's longer then the others, but it starts at 9:00EST from next week. So if you're Central, then it's 8:00.

I'm guessing it might be on again later?
If not, I missed it. :(

I LOVE Doctor Who! I know, I'm so sad you guys get to see it before us! haha I'm moving to England! I heard about the episode in an article from BBC.com and I was wondering when it would finally show up, so when the series came back I was so excited. I'm wondering who his new partner will be, if he decides to have one. I think he does right? I mean, I know you'll know but don't tell me exactly who, I want to be surprised. I hate going months without my favorite show, for some reason they usually only show it in the spring and summer. I didn't see it on in the fall and winter, not even older episodes.
It's such a good show though :goodvibes

Kayla, the episode I was talking about aired in the UK :p We're about 3 episodes ahead, might change to 2 soon if they don't show Doctor Who when the Eurovision's on.
The next episode in the USA is Partner's in Crime where someone called Miss Foster has released a new dieting pill where the fat just "walks away"
I believe it starts at 9:00EST now because the Sarah Jane Smith Adventures starts at 8:00EST. That's one of the spin-offs of Doctor Who but it was made for CBBC originally so it's more childish.
The next episode in the UK has Martha returning :) Something about the Sontaran's but i'm not really sure...

I watch the show occasionally. It's alright, but I'd rather watch Stargate.

woo we can talk about that last episode :)
I think you guys will like Donna if you haven't seen her comedy sketch show (most people didn't like her being the assistant because you can imagine her randomly quoting one of her catchphrases to the Doctor...)
Travelling to Pompeii next week.
Tonight for us, back to "present day" Earth (the show is about a year ahead do to an episode in the first series...) where Martha joins again and we meet the Sontarians :)

That last Doctor Who was great. All about something added into cars that will emmit zero CO2 into the atmosphere, but that something is also killing people in mysterious ways :-O
I'd give it 8/10, plus it's a 2 parter!

Got to talk about it now.....
Wow.
Which is pretty much all I've got to say.
Really interesting and the ending I thought he was just going to leave them all there.
The stone or whatever women was really weird though...
I laughed at the Epcot line. :p
That was awesome!
marypops!
05-03-2008, 09:23 AM
I was the only person to laugh at the Epcot line at home :p
I had no idea they cut the episodes though :-O they show them with no commericals in the UK.
I thought the effects of Vesuvius was awesome. Only BBC can bring great effects like that (i'm serious. I watch alot of documentaries about volcanoes, earthquakes, etc. and they're almost always rubbish. The ones that have been good, were made by BBC)

Doctor Who was awesome today. Great ending. Unsuspected twist (to me)
:-O SPOILER! Rose appeared in it again, though it wasn't even a second!

In the USA, I believe Sat Nav installed in some cars are the cause of people's deaths in this episode...

I didn't really like her at the beginning, but she's grown on me :)
I hate how in every episode, my mum says "look at her, all the others run like this *mimics running* and she just can't run!" or something similar to that...
It annoys me.

Can't wait for the next episode in the UK. Rose is back!
In the USA, it's Silence in the Library written by Steven Moffat. He's the guy who wrote Blink. It's a 2 parter and was very good, but confusing.
