I have not actually done this before but I have been hearing that if you stay in conceirge all you have to do is tell the cms and they will throw you a party free of charge!

I have been on my birthday the last 2 years. My wife told them both years and they delivered a cake, card and party favors to the room. See the link below for pictures. The web page link shows the stuff towards the bottom.

Spent DD 4th birthday there this year.
1) Get a birthday pin at City Hall in MK & wear it.
2) Make up a small sign for the b-day person that says "my name is Xxxx and today is my birthday" with an arrow. Hold it next to/over them whenever characters are nearby, when boarding rides, etc....
3) tell reservationist about birthday. Then tell CM when checking in.
4) note birthday on any PS's.

Last year we celebrated my sister's birthday at YC concierge. We asked a CM what could be done for this event, she told us that we could purchase a cake for about $100 (it would obviously be much more [I think $750 an hour for Mickey] if we were to have the characters come up also). I was quite surprised that they did not offer any other options.

You can see in my above post what the Polynesian did for my birthday and every day we had surprises in our room for our honeymoon. The YC knew about my birthday and our honeymoon (we even mentioned it at the desk a few times) and nothing was done. Only one of them even said happy honeymoon.

If you are at the Swan/Dolphin on your bithday the rate is only $100 for that night. We thought that was a great gift for my DH b-day March 16th! :D
