Cell Phone on Cruise?

Sailing On the Magic On March 30.........

We desperately need to have contact to shore. (Its a business thing.)

Will our cell phones work? I can't see paying $7.95 a min for the amount of time we will be on the phone.

Is it worth getting a satellite phone rental?

Help..any advise will be greatly appreciated!

Ours didn't after 20 minutes out. I suggest you get the internet package and email everyone. My husband had to call work from CC and it cost us $112. for a very few minutes. I sent emails to work and it cost $40/

Our cell phone did work on St. Thomas and St. Marteen, but not on the ship. Hope this helps you out a bit.

I would suggest calling your cell phone company and asking their advice and if you will even be able to use it. I called and they told me not to use it for fraud reasons so I shut mine off when we left port and used the internet. My mon had just had bypass surgery so I just checked several times a day and we able to keep up on her recovery.
