From the water view wing rooms at the contemporary to the main building or walkway to MK??

I called and requested one of these rooms and I was wondering how much walking this would entail since we will be walking into MK also. I have a major fear of the monorails but I also have fibromyalgia which can cause my leg to hurt and my foot to drag if I do a lot of walking at one time. I just started a med for this so I am hoping it will help.

I am trying to make this trip as magical for everyone as possible. Its a surprise trip for my two boys, our first trip to a deluxe, a place my eldest son has ALWAYS wanted to stay, a holiday, and our first time ever seeing the water parade.

I just want to be prepared for how much walking I will need to do.

We're big walkers, and we usally take a pedometer with us. I'm pretty darn sure that from the lobby of the Contemporary to the turnstiles at MK is almost an even 1/2 mile. I couldn't guess (in terms of mileage) from the wing rooms to the tower, but it cant be must more than say a football field - a field and 1/2.

Hope t his helps, and don't sweat the monorails- there's No Way one could "fall off".

Enjoy your trip!

Im not afraid of it falling off as I am of heights. The fear of the monorail is new...only since our last trip where it stopped many times in the middle of nowhere. I am hoping this trip to get rid of this fear. We will walk into MK but try taking the monorail back as it only stops once and thats at the Contemporary. Hopefully I can reaclimate myself to riding the monorails again.

I have a catch 22 problem here. Im afraid of the monorails yet too much walking does me in with the fibromyalgia. UGH.

another possibility might be to take the boat from MK to WL and then from WL to Contemp?...just a thought. :)

Another possibility is getting a room closer to the Tower. You can always see the Electric Water Parade from the beach (a one time walk rather than several), or from the Tower, or any of the either resorts on the lake (also from MK). Enjoy your trip (my son's favorite resort is the Contemporary as well).
