I've got a question about eyebrow waxing.
My eyebrows are almost completely grown back in, and they are bushhhhhyyy!
They're also much darker than before.
I've been thinking of getting them waxed to get their shape back, and the doing the at home stuff when I get a rogue hair or something.

Is there anything I should know before getting them done?
I've never had anything waxed before, so if anyone had an recommendations/tips/anything I should know first, I'd appreciate it if someone would say something.

ETA: I meant done in a salon. NOOO, never an at-home waxing kit.

Nope, just no matter what, don't wax them at home! My mom tried that on herself and it's really messy, doesn't do a good job, and she got hot wax in her eye!

Just know that it really doesn't hurt that bad...it hurts MUCH less than tweezing.

See, I love the at-home waxing. I refuse to pay to get it done in a salon. Regardless, I wouldn't worry about it. If you have even a half-way decent pain threshold, you'll be fine. Mind you, I'm also one who finds tweezing relaxing so...

I prefer tweezers.
If you use them right, they don't hurt that bad.
The first time I got my eyebrows done was at a salon for threading.
I do not reccomend threading.
It's basically putting a coating of wax on a thread and gliding it across the areas needing waxing, removing the hair.
It takes about five minutes, and it hurts pretty bad.
I've never actually tried waxing, but it doesn't seem that bad.

I say you go for it. :)

I have no tips except for relax your face when they wax them.
Waxing hurts much less than tweezing in my opinion but it does itch afterwards. Well at least for me it did. :p

Make sure that it's not just a waxing thing, make sure they actually shape them too.
A lot of places, according to my mother, will wax the area you want waxed, but will not shape them.

I personally tweeze, which is a pain in the bum, because the hairs grow back in like two days, and it's hard for me to keep up. It's not so bad right now, because I have bangs that hang over them...
I'm considering growing them back to see what they look like normal, and then shaping them again.

I usually get mine threaded.
It doesn't take long, and it doesn't hurt as much as waxing.
This is what it is if you dont know:

You just need to get it done by someone who knows what they're doing...

When I get my eyebrows waxed, I close my eyes and try to focus on something else.

Waxing isn't that bad.

When it does hurt i just think of something else.

I have fair skin, and when I get my eyebrows waxed with regular strength wax, it leaves burns and red marks on my face for a couple of days.

So if this might be a problem with you, ask them for sensitive-skin wax. Most places have it.
And afterwards, if it hurts really bad, take a washcloth, pour some cold milk on it, and put it over your eyebrows for a couple of minutes. It reduces the redness and the pain.

Don't worry about it, you'll be fine :]

It doesn't hurt much.
It feels like the pain you experience after someone slaps you.

Umm... it hurts WAY less than a slap.
If you've gotten a true bitrchslap that is...
I got a true *****slap, and my face had a huge red hand print on it for a day, waxing might turn skin red for a few hours...
Compared to that, it's like being stepped on by an elephant to a dog.

I've gotten a nice slap to the face before. It didn't leave a mark and it barely hurt. I guess it would depend on your tolerance to pain.

I guess that's true...
I did gymnastics, hockey and other sports before.
So I guess I can just handle a lot of pain... and I've been getting my eyebrows waxed for a long time too.

Tweezing hurts alot more than waxing.
I'd rather have the salon either arch them with a thread or with a razor.

dont wax

threading is the way to go.

they give you such a nicer shape

and in between your treading, tweeze the stray hairs yourself

It really isn't that bad, just make sure you dont have any important plans for a few hours after. Your face stays red for a while.

Im 13 and I get my eyebrows done.
I know its sounds really skanky and weird, but im not like that, my eyebrows really need it.

Its not bad, it swells and gets red for a wile but then its so beautiful afterwards.

Im the really squeemish type with pain, and eyebrow waxing doesnt bother me. Ive only got mine done twice so its not like im used to them.

I just tweeze mine..I don't need to pay anyone to shape my eyebrows for me. I'm very capable of doing that myself.

I started getting mine done the summer before 5th grade. :confused3 It was a personal choice to get it done that early.

You get used to the waxing. At first your eyes might tear (not because of pain, just because its a natural reaction) but after a few times that stops. It hurts less and less as you go. All I have to say is, once you start getting them done, it takes a long time for them to stop growing in as much. Mine still getting pretty bad.

Also, try not to tweeze to much in between waxings because then the hairs are too short when you go to get them waxed and the wax cant grab the hairs.

Me too, lol. I started waxing my eyebrows when I started shaving my legs, when I was 11.

I really needed it. My brows are bushy. xD

But actually I almost never tweeze between waxing. Mostly because 1) Tweezing hurts really really bad 2) I'm lazy.
