Hi and :welcome: to disABILITIES!

If you click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. The second item is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information, including (on page 2) where people rent ECVs.

Or, if you want an easier route, click on the link in my signature.

I have contacted Randy's and Care Medical for my scooter rental. Have you guys dealt with these companies? Any advice?

We used Randy's 2 years ago and were very pleased.
The companies that are listed in the disABILITIES FAQs thread are ones that DIS posters have recommended over the years. All the rental companies have had occassional negative reports, but in general, the ones listed have been good.

How far in advance would you typically "book" your ECV?

I have booked as far out as 6 months and as short as 1 day. I usually book it about 3 months out. Also according to when you are going. If it is during major holiday time (CHRISTmas, New Year) or even during the busy summer time I would book it as soon as possible.

I just booked mine yesterday with Care Medical for our trip in November. They were actually the cheapest for 5 days @ $150 total

I just rented a scooter from Buena Vista Scooter rentals, this is the company suggested when I called Disney, has anyone had experience with this company?

A few people have. It's located on the Boardwalk (which is why Disney recommends it). I have not heard anything bad about it.

I have called all of the scooter rental places this week and Walker was by far the least expensive. They didn't even charge me for a full day on our first or last day. I am renting 1 std and 1 HD from Dec 13-21 and it is only costing me $485.

We always use Walker's when my mom goes with us and have always been pleased. The scooter is always waiting for us at luggage services with our name on it and fully charged. He always gives us a discount for the first and last day. We already have an ECV reserved from him for Sept 6th-14th. For the 9 days it is $242.00 plus we added insurance of $20.00 for a total of $262.00. We told him we would be arriving around 11:00am on the 6th and would drop the scooter off by 3:00pm on the 14th.

Thanks,

It is www.walkermobility.com

I wanted to add that I have since changed my ressie to Randy's and am now paying $380 for 1 standard and 1 heavy duty ECV for Dec 13-21.

If you look in the disABILITIES FAQs thread, post #2 has a list of companies with their phone number and a link to their website.

I just put in my ressie for Randy's and it was $280 for September 7-22nd (picking up before noon on the 22nd, otherwise they charge you for the full day). Not bad considering I guess. It'll be like 15 days... I'm looking forward to using them because they actually deliver it to your room and I guess will teach you how to break it down and stuff.

:moped: Yeah, I was impressed with the price too!!! :woohoo: The quote is higher on their website so I don't know if this is their off time so they drop the price or what. I didn't get the canopy, I can deal with the sun fairly well and figure that it would just get in the way when trying to park on the bus, so maybe that's why?
