We arrived at WDW on 4/9 and headed to our first park MK on 4/10. I had done all my research on a GAC but decided I wouldn't get one mainly because I didn't feel that I needed it at that time. Well we left the park around 4 pm after the 3 o'clock parade for me to learn that my DD had hives and I had no clue where she had gotten them from but ended up having to give her benadryl and then had a child jumping off the walls and I received so many dirty looks at the Pop Food Court. I went back to MK that evening for Spectro and Wishes and headed to Guest Relations for two things - one to pick up my MP&PP tickets and to inquire about a GAC. I explained to the CM what had happened and she was so helpful and even suggested an option for us as I wasn't really sure what I wanted. I did receive the stroller as a wheelchair which was a huge life saver at Epcot for going in the Land except that some guy wasn't paying attention to where he was going and fell on top of my 2 y/o DD!! We had a very enjoyable vacation; did a lot of FP's and Child Swap. No more hives after the one incident so I was very thankful for that. A lot of yummy meals as well!!

I'm not getting the relation between needing a stroller as a wheelchair and getting hives? :confused3 Glad it helped though...

While the OP is online, I found this post (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1719353&referrerid=93883) that might help explain the connection! :)

Because she came in contact with something that gave her hives so being in her stroller solved her from touching anything.

I've had hives twice in my life and both times I was almost positive what caused them - in one case an antibiotic and in the other case, fresh pineapple. I can't imagine how scary it would be to have hives and have no idea what caused them. Especially for a small child.
I can also see how a child jumping off the walls from Benadryl would be better 'contained' a bit in a stroller.
Glad to hear things worked well after that.

Taht was one string of bad luck. Thanks for the link though I assumed the kid needed the stroller for some reason that was not for me to ask. I never tried benedryl but dont take most meds any how not even aspirin.
