Minnie WISH guide--anyone interested?

I had mentioned creating a "cheat book" of WISHers for the marathon next year.

Is anyone interested in having one for the Minnie weekend? I'm willing to try to put one together. I was thinking something like Screen names/real names/photos and possibly avatars. I'm also thinking about leaving some room next to each person for notes ("met at the meet--had a GREAT custom t-shirt") and "autographs" to help people remember who they met afterward.

Putting this together would require, of course, that things go more smoothly here than they have been....

ADDED:
Send the photos at 2" by 2" along with your real and screen names to jen8mail - wish at yahoo dot com (close the spaces and replace the "at" and "dot" with the symbols!). I'm asking for photos by Monday, April 21 so I have enough time to do this. Feel free to send them sooner!

Wow! What an awesome keepsake that would be!

Personally, I know I won't able to be at the meet because of my daughters' birthday dinner, but I think it would be awesome to be able to match names with faces (if I were there). That is so thoughtful of you to volunteer to do that!!!

how would you do pixs and it would be expensive to print. maybe you could make a pdf file and link it and we could each print off our own-just an idea.

Joan, I was thinking I'll set up an email for people to send photos. I can make a .pdf using InDesign, so having it for people to download is perfect!

Sounds great, just give the size needed for the photo (like pixels or something) and I'll get it to you right off.

Perhaps you would want a "due by" date so you have time to put it together without feeling rushed or getting it together and then some one send something to include after it is together.

Make sure you send the name you wanted listed with the photos-both real and screen names!

I love this idea, but have no clue how to make a 2x2 photo- can I do it in photobucket (is that one of their smaller sizes?) That's why I never update my pictures- it takes me forever to figure out and then I can't remember how I did it!:rolleyes1

My dear DH used Photostudio 5.5 to capture my face and we saved it and inserted it onto a microsoft word page and adjusted to make it 2X2. If you just insert it onto a microsoft page and ajdust then your face could become long and thin or short and fat.

I'm pretty computer illiterate - if Scott gets some free time, I might get this done by monday, but no promises. If I can't get a picture, both me Lynn and my husband Scott H will be doing this race. Maybe we can have a listing with "photo missing" or something.

LynnG do you have a digital camera? If so do you upload the pixs to your computer? If so then you can right click on the photo then open a word doc. and paste it on. Are you with me? If you can get that far then we can work on sizing it and sending it.

Wow! Lots of photos in my mailbox!

I think the headshots are going to work best. If you and a dear someone are together, you can send two photos if you'd prefer.

I already started working on the layout. I am trying to make it 8.5"x 5.5" (letter size folded in half to make a booklet).

I'll keep you posted on my progress!

Hi, WISH friends. Here's the latest on the WISH guide:

After many attempts to lay it out, I finally hit upon the idea of just listing all of us with photos alphabetically in the first section and then printing the team list at the end (I'm stealing your data entry, Mel!). I'm also going to add a couple pages for notes so people can exchange information, too.

I tried to arrange it alphabetically by screen name according to which race each person was doing, but it was all jumbled looking. Then I realized that most people won't have the guide in the corrals and it won't matter which race at the meet. :confused3 Sometimes I'm tricked easily.

Anyway, I should have it finished tomorrow afternoon. I've added all photos I've received so far. Anything I get by tomorrow morning I should be able to squeeze in if anyone else is worried about being left out, although it may have to get stuck at the end!

Any other suggestions, I'll try to work them in.

I'll email the guide to everyone who has sent me a photo. :)

Hi, everyone!

I finished the WISH team guidebook except for one photo that needed to be resent. That should be here tonight. It's not as pretty as I would have liked, but I didn't have time to work on it a month ago. It'll do what we want it to do.

I'll email a copy to those who sent me a photo as soon as the last picture is dropped in.

There are two pages for notes, photos and space for notes next to each photo, and a team listing from the beginning of the team list that chimera so sweetly typed for everyone.

I couldn't think of anything for the back cover. :confused3 Sorry I'm not creative this week. :(

But we have WISH guides, and I can always modify the design next time to make it "pretty" in the future.

I emailed a .pdf copy to all who sent me their photo. :)

I didn't put any extra color in it so that it wouldn't drain all the ink out of the printers. I wish I had more time to put it together, but this is a good start, I think.

I forgot to mention that you should be able to print it out so that it is front to back on standard size (8.5 x 11) paper and then folds in half to be a booklet. One staple and it should hold together for you.

Thanks - I printed mine this AM - I printed it so that it is double sided with 2 pages on each side (we are trying to cut down on paper use at work - going green and all!!)

If anyone sees a girl with blond hair with hot hot pink hair underneath that is me!! I will be wearing my WISH singlet on Sunday. I will be heading to the Expo on Saturday 1st thing - not sure what I will be wearing that day - maybe a lime green t-shirt (not WISH gear though)
