So to my fellow Minnie runners and race attendees I offer the following:

1) I have 2 of the special AK/Epcot tickets that I bought that can be yours for the asking for family and friends. Turns out I am buying an AP (got a great AP rate at AKL and now have 3 trips planned between now and next January!), so I don't need the tickets.

2) For Test Track fans.... Since I am a GM employee, I can get into the lounge and also cut to the front of the line at Test Track. So if anyone wants to meet on Friday, I'm game! The lounge is open from 9-5. Say 4 pm? Just let me know. The view from the lounge is great and the soft drinks are free!

Maura-

How thoughtful of you! We also have APs (for the same reason--those great rates!), but we would LOVE to meet you at Test Track on Friday!

Maura - that's so sweet of you! I've got AP's but would love to see the lounge at Test Track. Will be just me.

Maura, I may be able to meet at Test Track at 4pm, we are hoping to be at EPCOT Friday evening for the fireworks and the eat dinner outside at Mexico. (Gotta get a wet burrito!!) Do you mind if my Mom comes along - she won't ride test track, but would love to see the lounge.

Ah the dangers of an AP. (AKA "lets do another trip since the tickets are paid for" If you buy DVC on top of that all bets are off:rotfl2: )

I would love to come to Test Track, but I am not sure what my father's plans are. Now that I have decided not to rent a car he has to drive up to visit and he can't drive at night. So can I plan to come and let you know closer to the event if it's a yes or no?

As for the tickets. I think I might can get rid of them for you. PM me what you paid and let me see if one of my co-workers would want them. (We are going to be at the Caribe Royal all the following week for a meeting) I have not seen the training schedule so I don't know if we have any free afternoons yet, but if we do...

Guilty! Managed 4 trips last year (two were long weekends) because we have DVC and APs.

What great offers Maura! Bumemr that I can't take you up on either.

Dh got into the lounge when he was in HS when it was WOrld of Motion, as his dad was GM before teh Delphi split. To this day, he tells me about the lounge eveyr time we pass by or ride TT. SO sweet of you to offer that experince to others!

Wow I didn't even know there was a lounge at TT. Now I wish I was coming up on Friday. I would LOVE to see it. What a great offer Maura. As far as cutting to the front of the line that is cool too even though me and DH always use single rider for that ride - even got my sister who never thought my neice would be up for the single rider thing (riding with strangers) to use the single rider to save time.

Where exactly is the lounge? Is it that hidden?

The lounge is on an upper floor at the front of the building--not really hidden. There's a great view of Spaceship Earth and you can see inside the ride, and outside as the car whizzes by.

I'm not doing the Minnie :sad1: so I can't take you up on the great offers.

. . . But I did want to say that anyone who can do it should definitely visit at the GM Lounge. About 2 years ago my daughter and I got to be the "Family of the Day" and "open" Epcot in the little Test Track car. We visited the Lounge and it was awesome! I was so stunned by the whole experience that I forgot to get a picture of us there (my only regret about the experience), but it is definitely worth a visit. What a great view of the park!

Hi Maura,
DH & I will be doing our very first race - the 5K on Saturday in honor of his 80th (yep :thumbsup2 80) birthday. He and his 2 bro-in-laws would drool over the opportunity to go to the lounge if there's room for 3. (If not, he'd certainly understand.)

If you think there's room, look us up. He'll be wearing this tee in the 5K race and we'll be in back with the walkers:

LMK if you're full up on invites or not!

Heartbeeps: Don't forget that the 5K is Saturday and the 15k is Sunday.
I love the graphic for the t-shirt. I take it he has red hair? (Go Red).

oops, I meant Saturday! :rotfl2:

Hair? At 80? What HAIR! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

No, the "Go Red" is short for the "Go Red for Women" slogan.

I'm sure we can all fit in the elevator up. I'll just tell them that I brought my "running family"!

GREAT! We all have a 4:30 ressie at LeCellier so they won't be able to stay long but it will be so special just for them to be able to say they were in the GM lounge. And, DBIL IS A RACE CAR DRIVER. Actually champion at a local speedway for PRO stocks about 4 years ago so he will be jumping out of his skin when we tell him. Look for 3 guys with gray hair ranging from 50 to 80 y/o. And, I'll PM you my cell # in case you decide to go in early.

thank you so much! I am so excited for them. (As a former AT&T employee we got into Spaceship earth's lounge many years ago - it was BORING - just free drinks no seeing the ride or anything special like that!)
