I have a question regarding snorkeling equipment and excursions at Castaway Cay. We have our own snorkel and mask and were planning on buying fins. If you have your own equipment do you still have to pay the excursion fees to snorkel at Castaway Cay? I noticed on the DCL web site that the excursion to snorkel was $25. Thanks.

Nope, no charge if you have your own stuff. I carried mine last May and there is no charge.

Ruvidu,
The only thing we will need is the vest that they make you wear or so I have heard. Will there be a charge for this?

you could probably get by without them, but you would get pretty tired in a hurry.

We brought our own snorkeling equipment with us to CC. My husband snorkeled with fins, I snorkeled without fins. The only thing you have to have on in the snorkeling area is a life vest. They won't let you in that area without one. They are provided for free.

We were on the adult beach. Several of us snorkled and nothing was ever said about a vest. None of us used the fins. We had rented the foam floats and we just floated out to the wreck or whatever it is and looked at the fish. Mostly we were just old folk out acting like kids.

ruvidu.
The only place you have to wear the vest is inside the designated snorkeling area.( The place that is roped off ) We tried to swim over without our vest and the life guard yelled at us.
