We're planning to surprise our DS's 17 yr. old girlfriend with a trip to WDW. The only park she's visited is the MK, & that was only once a long time ago. I want to make it a special trip for her, & schedule some meals she'd like. That's where you guys come in. :teeth: I figured if I wanted to know what restaurants a 17 yr. old girl would like this would be the place to ask. So, what's your favorite WDW restaurant, why, & what meal do you like there (breakfast, lunch, or dinner)? Thanks in advance for helping me out.

Alright well I'm 18...so hopefully my input will help a little
My favourite restaurants are Coral Reef, Le Cellier and mostly any of the restaurants in Downtown Disney.
I don't mind the buffets, but I'd much rather sit down for a nice dinner after a day of touring the parks.
But I like character meals too!! They are really fun! Even for older teens.
For breakfast I like the stuff they have in the resorts, because I usually just want a danish type thing and fruit. Hope that helps :thumbsup2
My favorite restaurants are:
The Sci-fi drive in
Beaches and Cream
Pizza Planet
Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop
I'm 16, but I'll be 17 in a few months so I hope that's close enough to "older teen". :goodvibes
My favourite restaurants are: Le Cellier (all time favorite, nobody beats it), I loved Marrakesh but that's one that some people don't like because it's Moroccan cuisine, and Spoodles at The Boardwalk resort. That's my top 3.

My top 3 faves are Raglan Road, Le Cellier, and Kona Cafe. They are not to be missed!

Okay, you might want to discount my opinion since the first restaurant that came to my mind was Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe. :rotfl:
I don't really know what my favorites are, and I'm drawing a TOTAL blank right trying to remember the nicer places we've eated, but both restaurants in The Animal Kingdom Lodge sound like wonderufl places to eat from everything I've heard. If your daughter doesn't have a problem with trying new foods or anything like that, it might be something to consider. :)

Wow, 3 votes for Le Cellier. I hadn't even considered going there. We've eaten there several times, so I guess it's not a big deal to us. I was thinking of Tutto Italia in Epcot, but if you all think she'll like Le Cellier better I'll try for that instead. ::yes::

Which character meals do you like?
My favorite restaurants are:
The Sci-fi drive in
Beaches and Cream
Pizza Planet
Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop
Sci-fi for lunch sounds fun. We've never eaten there. Do you know, if the 4 of us would get our own car?

It's actually my DS's girlfriend. Sadly, she's a pretty picky eater. That's one reason I'm having a hard time picking restaurants. My DS will eat anywhere.

I believe you would. I've been with 4 people and I think we got are own car.

I'm 13... So I'm not exactly an older teen.
But I really love Yachtsman Steakhouse for dinner, I love their new york strip (even though that's a little pricy) and Beaches and Cream for lunch/dinner, they have good burgers and ice creams.

And if you go to Magic Kingdom, you can't miss the pineapple dole whips at Aloha Isle in Adventure Land. It's pineapple soft serve ice cream!!! It sounds weird, but it's delicious.

That sounds great! I'm 16, so I hope this helps. They usually have a great selection for picky eaters[like me] so she should be able to find something.
I'll put them in the category of parks or Downtown Disney and what kind of food they have because I'm not sure which ones you've been to before or have heard about.
Magic Kingdom
Pinocchio Village Haus- This has fast food, salads, sandwiches, and really good fries with a great view of fantasyland.
Columbia Harbor House- In liberty square, the upstairs is usually really quiet and air conditioned and they could have a table to themselves and get a nice view. Fast food, soups, chowder, salads and sandwiches.
Tony's on main street would be cute, they could duplicate the spaghetti scene in lady and the tramp!
Epcot
The garden grill is interesting because it revolves and you can see living with the land, and it has character meals so if you want to schedule one of those you could.
San Angel Inn- This is in the Mexico pavilion in the world showcase, it's romantic and looks like night, great mexican food and a view of the water ride.
Downtown Disney-
Rainforest Cafe
Fulton's Crab House
Ghirardelli for a quick dessert
Animal Kingdom-
There's also a rainforest cafe, this one is a bit bigger I think, but about the same as the downtown disney one.
Yak and Yeti
Tusker House
Hollywood Studios[mgm]
Sci Fi Drive In
Here's a website with the menus, but I'm not sure how current they are. Most of them look like they're updated frequently.

Well personally, my favourite character meal is Chef Mickeys!
I really love to get into the whole napkin waving thing.:cool2:
But if its her first time @ WDW she may not be as into it, or she may find it a little weird or childish. Depends on the girl I guess.
But I think it's really funny and cute.
I don't like Crystal Palace too much though...because there are SOOOO many kids and it's just really chaotic.
Chef Mickeys for some reason always seems to have a bit of a calmer tone than Crystal Palace, which I like much better.

Yes, you definitely will. A car sits 4 people. :)
If you don't mind checking it out, my dining review is in the voice of myself (16 years old.) and we didn't really go to anything particularly weird or unusual. The links in my signature. It also has the opinions of my parents.

I love Le Cellier in Epcot.
And Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club. It's not a fancy dinner more like a beachy diner. It's nice though.
And 50's Prime Time Cafe in MGM. It's fun I went there for my 16th Birthday dinner.

I don't really like the character meals. I've never been into characters, even when I was younger. I'd prefer to eat my meals in peace.
My favorite restaurants are Biergarten, Rose & Crown, 50's Prime Time Cafe, Sci-Fi Dine in Theater, Mama Melrose, Yak & Yeti, and Tony's Town Square.

I'm a very picky eater, so I think that my options would be pretty safe for you to try.
I LOVE Le Cellier, Whispering Canyon Cafe (in the Wilderness Lodge) and the Crystal Palace.
I'd do Le Cellier for lunch, Whispering Canyon Cafe (which is TONS of fun, no matter what you're age!) for dinner, and Crystal Palace for lunch.
Crystal Palace is a character buffet, and, speaking as a 16-year-old, I think they're still fun at this age. Plus, they have tons of offerings, sure to please a picky eater.

Thanks again for all your help. :) I'm making my final list, & can start booking ADRs tomorrow. I'll try to make it back for feedback, when I get them all made.

I am a picky eater as well but I had no trouble finding something at Le Celier. They had things that were "cultural" but not covered in junk that I would never eat in a million years. Character meals are also fun and always have food for everyone.
