Does anyone know the height restriction? Our DGS is only 4, but we are afraid that he's too tall now. He was just too hesitant to try in November and he's going again in June and asked if he could try the pony!

Thanks.

I think its 48in. If he's four he should still be able to ride. We had a five year old in our group and he was well within the range when they measured him. That was last week.

My DS thought the restriction was 45"...DGS is now 44". I agree about his being 4 and SHOULD be able to do it. I sure hope the height is 48 inches...he won't shoot up that fast between now and June. His dad and uncle are 6 ft. 5 inches, so the potential is there.

We did ask last year if allowance are made for youngsters who are tall and were told no.

Can anyone tell me why they have a height restriction and not a weight? I would think that weight would be more of an issue. My DD was so disappointed last year because she was too tall to ride the ponies, but not old enough to ride the horses. Now I am worried about my youngest DD. She is really tall for her age, I hope she doesn't grow much before we go, she will be so sad.

There was a weight restriction, I don't remember what it was though.:confused3

The weight limit used to be 80 pounds:) My son was 82 pounds and they were nice enough to let him ride. He was only 7y.o. so too young for the horses. He is also very tall but they didn't have a height limit then.

Our DS age 5 rode Scout in December. He was over 48" because on the same trip he also finally got to ride Primeval Whirl.

Maybe it is who the CM is at the time. The woman that was there when I went with my girls was not budging. DD was within the weight, but over a bit on the height. Not even a lot. I felt so bad for her. It was the ONE thing she wanted to do at the fort and couldn't.She had talked about it for months. She held back her tears though and said she would wait for my youngest to ride, but I said no. It wouldnt be fair. She was so devestated. It was one of those things that was so stupid and really nothing, but my heart just went out to her. I hate it when they are truely sad, not having a fit, but truely sad. Then my youngest was mad "she said she would wait!" Not a very magical moment. lol. I hope my youngest doesn't end up growing too much over the summer, she is a little bitty thing but so tall. DD9 is old enough to ride the reg. horses, but if DD6 can't get on the ponies it will be last year all over again, especially since I didn't let her ride last year!

Wow, I know that the CMs who were there said that the weight/height restrictions were firm. I'm sorry your DD wasn't able to go.
