Mickey's Barnyard BBQ. How do we get there?

Hi.

I would take the bus from AKL to the Magic Kingdom, then either hop on the WL bus or the WL Ferry.

Do you mean Wilderness Lodge or Fort Wilderness? If you meant FW, take the bus to MK then the FW bus. Have Fun.

There is no bus from the MK to Fort Wilderness.

The Barbecue is held at Fort Wilderness, not the Wilderness Lodge (very confusing, I know!). To get there from the AKL you will need to take a bus to the MK and then a boat to Fort Wilderness. Once off the boat follow the path to the group of buildings straight ahead and I'm sure you'll see signs for the barbecue.

I would allow a good 60-90 minutes for the transportation. It will probably take much less than that but if your connections are off at all you'll need the time.

Some of the info provided is misleading... take the bus from AKL to the MK... which will FIRST bring you to the Transportation and Ticket Center...there you have two choices.. Take a bus to Fort Wilderness(not Wilderness Lodge) or go on to the Magic Kingdom and take a Motor Launch to Fort Wilderness... either way, allow lots of time for the trip...

The bus from the AKL to the MK takes you to the MK directly, not to the TTC.

Well, since thise seems to take a lot of time, should we just take a taxi? Are they expensive......well, I mean outragiously expensive.

I think the most we ever paid for a taxi getting to and from things at WDW was about $10. Well worth the money for the time saved.

Just make sure you ask the driver to take you to Ft Wilderness & not the Wilderness lodge :D

We took a taxi a year or so ago from the GF to the Hoop-Dee-Doo. The taxi had to let us out at the check-in area for Fort Wilderness, and then we had to take the resort bus over to Pioneer Hall (where the Hoop-Dee-Doo is held). According to WDW's Mickey's Backyard BBQ webpage (http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/waltdisneyworld/resorts/restaurants/featuredrestaurantindex?id=FWRMickeysBackyardBBQRe st) , Mickey's Backyard BBQ is held "a stone's throw away from Pioneer Hall," therefore my guess is that you would have to take a taxi and then a bus just like we did.
