Gee...I sure hope our excursion in St Lucia doesn't run late....we aren't supposed to be back at the ship until 6:30 pm......guess we won't be doing any shopping there outside of our excursion.
That was my concern, we were looking at the Herod's tour that is 7.5 hrs.....not sure that is going to work if we are only there from 12-7pm.
Anyone else doing the Herod's tour?

I was soooo happy to see this well timed "poaching" effort! <Sob*> it makes me feel the Dark side has hope yet....
Yeah... 3:20AM ... just got awakened by the 2 Y.O. and got her AND Mom resettled... but NOW I'm up... so I got restive and decided to kick up the wifi connection here at the Holiday Inn. I wuz busy and slightly tired all day. I kno... compared to some (EG PIT) my driving just under 300 miles was nothing... but about 60% was on 1 lan country roads and freeway speeds. I get nervous with onrushing traffic at a 110-130 MPH closing speed and barely 5-6' seperating us.... I tend to hug the right line... then we get a couple of unexpected bicyclists out here (!!!!) that I had to be alert for - plus a few CHP already working other motorists over who keep me on my toes for being "proper".
SO... aside from all that .... I was on-line very little yesterday. I only managed 3 or 4 postings I think. We ended up stopping at 3 Walmarts between Sunday evening and last nite 11PM. ONE had the Bubba Mugs! I paid the "average" of four bucks... which is OK... but of potential interest to us DIS bretheren... another customer in line noted my purchases and volunteered a thought: They had purchased one of the smaller Bubba Mugs and they RETURNED IT. The guy warned that his gasket in the lid came off and once that was off and lost - his leaked all over him when he tried to drink from it. I was not sure if HE lost the gasket or he bought it without the gasket to begin with. I took a hard look at mine and feel it should stay put in the lid. BUT I'm keeping my Walmart receipt on the fridge for a couple weeks while I "test" one of my Bubba mugs for servicability. I do expect it to perform as expected though.

Hi everyone! It's been a LOOONG time! .....
So what's up with all the posts? Is this some contest to see who can post the most? Ewww - that even rhymed.
.....
Sweet Sue
http://62.41.27.210/media/images/600/600_44.jpg
Wecome back Sue... the September 17, 2006 - 11 Night Southern Caribbean Repubic is in cosmic flex, a Sith Lord has emerged on the thread and the "....Dark side of the Force is POWERFUL... beware it... CONSUME you it will...." especially in the prescence of these secret Sith Lords who keep proddin' the thread count towards 10,000 ... then 100,000 thus keeping the top spots beyond MY GRASP!!
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Now... I am hosting the Mickey Ice Cream Race Challenge ... and have NEVER mentioned ANYTHING about any "contest" or RACE to see WHO can POST the most. Shucks, I'm still trying to read backwards to catch up on the "fun" I've missed this last day or so! Not to mention the 350+ pages preceeding my recent inclusion here barely a month ago! :confused3
But consider....
http://www.geocities.com/randyinc_nz/wallpaper/files/darth_vader.jpg
Join forces with "us" in defeating the "Emporer" and his lackies... and together (in some sort of loosly run dictatorship) we can rule the Galaxy! You don't know the POWER or the Dark side. Try it with a frappachino or hot chocolate next to your keyboard... it is nice... really it is. :surfweb: So... WHAT on Earth am I talking about? I don't know - as I'm just barely awake after having been roused by my loudly complaining (now asleep again) 2.75 yeasr old.

:lmao: Of course this would only work if you explained she is an up-and-coming contemporary artist that focuses on abstract art and it's symbolism. For example, to many people the lump of clay on my coffee table is just a lump of clay. But to the art patrons of the world - the blue grey sculpture symbolishes the life force of an elephant blending with the cool blue water of the local watering hole. The grey protuberances symbolize the ritual cleansing and erotic feel as the elephant splahes water over it's ears and upon it's back.
So how's that for starters? :lmao:
Sweet Sue
All I can say is "SOLD" that is what you would hear! :lmao: :rotfl: :goodvibes

My husband and 9 y.o. son are just poopers. Yea, I said it, "poopers". Can I say that on the disboards? They don't wanna do the Jammie Breakfast. That's alright! I'm the one in the family who does the packing and the laundry. They'll see just what's left to wear in their respective drawers the morning of the breakfast. That's right. Nothing but Mickey. And if they don't come down to breakfast, I'll just cry & be mopey all day.
Sandy
This is a family joke - "His jammies will be on his list to wear" so he won't have a choice.

Gotta get posting.
Boy are the people in the party america store gonna think we are some kind of freaks when they see dh trying on their grass skirts :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Don't feel so bad about on-lookers when you try on grass skirts. Ya know... way before the GSF was even mentioned (right after I introduced myself as joining the cruise here) I already HAD a grass skirt on hand!!!!
Don't ask me to explain THAT one... well... OK... I don't really know what we're doing with one in an adult size ... but when my spouse saw some of the funny modified pictures with ME appearing in a grass skirt she started asking what it was all about - and I said I might have to consider going aboard with one ... and she dug one up from storage!!!! Yeah... we already had one. I still wonder a bit. :confused3

Good morning all. I've given up hope on trying to keep up with the boards. So, if there is anything major I am missing- someone please tell me.
Scott, I wanted to let you know that I did better with the ear thing and scuba on Sunday. As I was by myself at the deep end of the pool- I was able to go down at my own pace and take the time to clear my ears. I think when I was working in pairs that I felt like I had to keep up with them- and hence the two holes in my left ear drum.
For anyone thinking about putting their little kids in a bubble makers scuba class, I would highly recommend it! Noah loved it. They let them hang out in full scuba gear, but couldn't go past 4 feet. He did great and had fun. After the older kids went to the deep end of the pool, he practiced his snorkeling skills.
Have a great day everyone! :cheer2:

Don't forget to sign up for Secret Mickey's! You must PM me or Minniemouse71 depending on your age the information listed below.
Secret Mickey
Are you interested in being a Secret Mickey (secret pal) while we are on our cruise? . We will have two categories – one for the under 21 group that would like to participate (we will further divide this group based on responses to match as closely as possible) and another for the adults. Dollar limit on total number of gifts for the under 21 age group is $20-$25 ($4-$5 each) and the adults $30-$35 ($6-$7 each gift). You will need to provide at least five gifts for your SM.
If you are interested, we need the following information in a PM
· DIS name of at least one family member
· Real name and age if in the U21 group, grade too
· Cabin number (for deliveries)
· Favorite Disney character
. Favorite color
· Your likes (DCL, scrapbooking, collects stamps, wine, Konk Koolers
(hey, I'll have one of those), wine, the beach)
· Any specific dislikes (I don’t drink, allergic to peanuts)
· Departure date for your cruise vacation
This information will be passed on to the person that is your SM so let us know whatever would help them be a good SM for you.
We will have a get together on one of the last two sea days returning to Castaway to “fess up” and thank our SM for being so thoughtful and making our cruise even better.
Please send your PM’s to Minniemouse71 for the under 21’s and I will take the adult’s notices no later than August 25th. You will have your SM before you leave for your cruise vacation – in case you want to do some shopping at home.
Questions – ask away.

Just noticed this slightly older posting from ... Sunday?.....
But, but, but....you don't understand! You travel around all day, every day, with your husband. You see each other day in, day out. My situation is a little bit different....
I fell in love  with someone who lives all the way across the country from me. I live on the west coast and he lives in Michigan. He was just here for 5 weeks and during that time I fell 4 weeks (at least!) behind on all my computer stuff. Now he's gone home (until the cruise) and I'm finally able to get caught up -- if you all would just stop posting so dang much! :badpc:
I really am trying to help organize a few things for the cruise, so I will be posting a few posts tonight. I will try to stay more involved from here on, but real life does get in the way! And I can't read or post from work like some of you do, so if I come home from work to 10 or 20 new pages, well, I'm sure you know how that goes. I spend every night trying to catch up!
So if you don't hear from me on a regular basis, that's why. :guilty:
Beth
aka Captain Bess Flint pirate:
Beth....
you're totally RIGHT... and in my book you're A-OK. And more so if you would join us in our rally against the "Emporer" of the Souther Carib Republic ... soon to be renamed "Empire of the Southern Carib 17th Cruise"... maybe. The Dark side of the "Force" is powerful... CONSUME you it will (so Yoda sez-yeah... like it's gonna TAKE ME OVER or something... right?!?). SO ... if you'd embrace the Dark Side of the Force than I'm sure this mad 10 a day posting thing would get you in it's talons!
http://www.infowars.com/images2/cartoons/emperor_bush_dictator_quote.jpg
So - join with us in resisting the Sith Emporer - LOL!!!!
Please don't judge my silly rampage here. I know I'm not all that perfect in my prose and humor - but I try. Oh is that what you call it.
Oh yeah... Wasn't I going to sleep? Yeah - I was... and now I'm not ... and maybe in a few minutes I will again.
But - I was awakened by my spouse and asked to LOOK for something online... and I did ... and now Im awake again. :confused3 Go figure...

Only 5 posts? What's with that? I'm sure I've done more than that! Oh well clearly not.
GISMO....
Join us in resisting the Emporer - by making a run at 5 or 10 postings a day! Join the fray and lets' let the emporer know the republic and democracy lives! OK.... I think I'm mixing my Star Wars movie "bites" badly now. And (for me) this being early AM is probably why it's so. :goodvibes
But ... with 5 (no - now 6) posts to date .... I'd say, ... young Jedi .... much you have to .... contribute... or so - that's almost how Yoda might have quipped it!
http://www.nerf-herders-anonymous.net/Rubes_yoda_comic.jpg
So - with that - I think I speak for all of us when I invite you to contribute more postings - and more frequently! The more the merrier, so to speak!

You guys are rocking tonight....just might make the 8,000 mark tonight. Are we on track for the big 10,000 mark? Anyone know?
From the last time I spoke of the 10 a day from 10 enthusiasts post... I had estimated we would barely make it in given the number of days remaining ... And now I'd say with less than 2000 to go and 39 days til embarkation... "I" could get us to 10,000 by myself ... well with a little help from SCOTT H (889); Hygiene99 (788) and BobandLee (682)! LOL! :lmao: Well... it would go a lot easier with a teaming mob of happy DIS folks too!
So... lets' not slacken the pace... as 2,000 is still a huge intimidating number. And it really is not about getting to 10,000... or even your personal tally for total contributions to the thread... it's really all about what YOU are getting out of this "community" conversation here. Yeah, some folks only have ... 6 .... postings. That's fine. AS 6 is more than 1 - or none. AND maybe 6 is all that are needed. Fewer comments - greater impact maybe? Or conversely... like ME ... more postings and verbage and potentially NO impact! BUT - just the same - step up and read, post or move aside and make room for your cabin mate (if there is one) to check out the thread and consider joining actively in evolving fun! :thumbsup2
In case anyone was wondering ... that was the emereging "dictator" in me... as didn't Anakin tell Padame that he (and her) could rule the Galaxy once that inconvenient Sith Lord .. Darth Scott ... er rather Sideous has been overtaken in the posting count. Like THAT willl ever happen! LOL!

One great thing about our job is that we can take off whenever we want, however long we want. It's just a question of how much $$$ we have floating around :cool1: As long as we turn their truck in to them.
OT, but has anyone ever been on an Alaskan cruise? I have always wanted to go but I want a ship comparable to DCL or I ain't going. Dh wants to do the whole shebang. Land and sea. Just wondering if anyone had any reccomendations. We will be going around 2008. I want to just wait until disney decides to go but  dh says go asap.
I, too, am a proud owner of a hot pink razor. DH "bought " it for me. Bought meaning got it free for signing another contract with cingular. :woohoo: I don't know how to work half the features but hey, it's pink, what else matters?
My spouse has wanted a PINK Razor... you're gonna have to give us a nod :thumbsup2 or warn us :sad2: on that phone in a bit - as she is sort of close to swapping hers' for it!
And now... I'm done for now...

Because of Lynn’s slow ear clearing, we have her get in before me, and start her descent, other diver get in and I follow and sometime it works out. Also it is a good idea to let the divemaster where ever you are know that you have slow ears.

Hi All, I keep seeing mention of DVC this and that and was curious how their program works. Can their "points" be used for the DCL? How many would you need to accumulate?
I ran across this for sale, well it says pending but just wanted to get an idea of the price range for these things.

When you buy into DVC you purchase so many points. I can't think of what the min. is, but you can buy however many you want. Points can be used at DVC hotels, several Disney resorts around the world, the cruise line, and at other hotels around the world.
For the cruise line, the points are based on length of cruise and stateroom category.
Although I'm sure there is someone out there who can explain all of this better than me. I'm a DVC novice. :lmao:

thanks, I did browse through the site. they give you some samples of how many points for std room etc, but not any real details.
How could you find out how many points a Cat 4 would be for a 7 night for example, or a combination of rooms? I'd like to know what I'm getting myself into.....
I kinda don;t like the fact that it has an end date, I thought most timeshare / point programs can go on infinitum, pass it on to your kids etc.

I know lots of people say that using DVC points for cruises is a bad value. And lots of people rents their points and then use cash for the cruise.
We recently bought into DVC at the time that we were going to book out two Med cruises. So we bought into DVC and then used points for both cruises (yes, we had to use about 2.5 years worth of points).
But we figured that we were getting a "2 for 1" use of the same dollars that the cruise would have cost us (use the dollars to buy into DVC and then use the points for the cruise). And we still plan to use points in the future for cruises.
At this point, we are happy DVC members.

We have a 8 year old son, so at St. Kitts we are doing the train, since he loves the idea of being on a train and it takes you to see Brimstone Fort which should be alot of fun for him. I checked the fort out on line and it looks pretty cool with alot of pictures i'm sure he'll want to take with his camera.
St lucia, we are doing the pirate trip, since he loves pirates and it's one of the ships from the first pirates movie.
Antigua, we are doing the Seafari, just because he loves snorkling.
Hope that helps.

Celeste, I have heard of the hydrooptix masks but have not played with them. Lynn and I have used the Seavision masks, for quite a while. Lynn's is corrected and mine is not. As you have learned the thing with masks is the fit, so that should be checked first. We have found that Seavision masks seem to have an almost universal fit.
I would try and find a shop that has the hydrooptix masks and see if they would let ya try it before ya buy.
Lynn may have more to say re perscription masks...

Interesting...
... I never knew how it worked before. Now I've stopped to ask Qs from the folks at the DVC carts before but they want to have me go for a presentation to find out the details. And heck - I'm usuallly enroute to havin' fun at one of their parks or similar when I encounter them.... so no way ... unless they are going to compensate me properly.... the timing suits me.
So... for having read your postings folks - what do I get? DO I get a shopping gift cert? .. Noooooo. Do I get an extra discount off a sailing? Nooooo. Well then how about a hand full of Mickey pops? Nooooo. That's what I thought... Heh-hee-heh! Well - at least I did not have to endure the smiling sophmoric pressure tactics so common to these presentations!

Captain, maybe you should attend one of the presentations on the ship. There will be plenty of time on this one to take just a little bit of time to see what it's all about. And who knows, you might get something. I know last year they had hats and lanyards they were handing out, so you might be able to get a little something.

Very good! You must have a great mentor.........................
On another note, with regards to the points for sale on a DVC resale, the points figure to about $72.00 per point. Disney always has the first right of refusal and since points sell for over $100 each now, my guess is that they would take it back and not let the deal close so as to keep the value of the points up.
We bought back in 1994. We have been on numerous cruises and have added points every now and then (although we are not the DVC king like Scott), we added 250 last year on the DVC member cruise and got a free trip to Hong Kong Disneyland for 7 nights, hotel, park admissions, free food, gifts, etc.
If you are thinking of adding on, the owner cruise always has some great incentives. We now have 650 points.

Disney doesn't pressure you, the product sells itself. We left and went home and decided after we had got home. They didn't even encourage us to buy when we saw the presentation. They wanted us to think about it. I had some friends buy in last year when we were at WDW and they went to the booth. They got an incentive to go to the presentation. I think you have to ask for it.
Also, the guys at the kiosks can't give out the information because they are not licensed to do any part of the presentation as from what I have been told.

In 1991 when we bought there was no high pressure on DVC's part, I was the high pressure part just wanting them to cut to the chase and tell me how much.
Oh Captain C, at the end of the presentations at WDW you get ICE CREAM....

In St. Kitts there is a railroad tour of the island that they might find interesting.
Morning everyone. This is post #1 for me.
I think I saw somewhere that the St Kitts railroad tour was sort of pricey... it would be cheaper to get a fixed wing aerial tour! Of course... I have not googled it ... yet. OK.. here it is....
http://www.stkittsscenicrailway.com/page4.htm
http://www.stkittsscenicrailway.com/images/trainside.jpg
So, the options are....
A. The Scenic Railway Tour consists of 30-mile train ride and circles the island is approximately 4 hours. This tour departs from and returns to our Needsmust Station which is located at the airport.
B. The Rail/Bus Combo Tour consists of a 18 mile train ride and 12 miles by Bus. This options provides you with opportunity to see the island by Rail and Road. The tour is timed to take 3 hours and 30 minutes total, with 2 hours 30 minutes spent on the rail trip. (NOW AVAILABLE TO ALL PASSENGERS)
The site posted prices as US$89.00 grown ups US$44.50 kids (3-11 years). So it seems to me as if the pricing is NOT as steep as I thought I read elsewhere. You suppose we coule get a discout if we got everyone of the 95 folks doing the pajama party to go on this rail tour? Naturally, we'd all do the rail tour in our pajamas!

No, it is a timeshare. Sorry if that got confusing. When DVC first started up, they only had one hotel and it was known as the Disney Vacation Club. When they started building more DVC hotels, they changed the name to Old Key West.

hmmm, considering they spent $25K I think they well paid for it but I could be wrong. It does sound like a great bonus though.
What is an owner cruise?
and thanks all for your comments and feedback on the DVC
at first thought, it sounds expensive with the lowest option on value season being 251 pts, that does equate to appx $25K if it is $100/point. but then you think this is over the course of what some 45 yrs so I guess it keeps on giving.
Another question, do the points required go up over time so that you have to buy more points?
I think we were looking at $5,500k for a 7day cruise ... if you take 250 points over 45 years thats over 11k points. If we were to spend an avg of 400 pts for a family of 5 (is that normal?) then it seems to work out to 27-28 vacations you could take over that period.
whew...that's alot of disney, now that explains why most of you have gone over the deep end

hmmm, considering they spent $25K I think they well paid for it but I could be wrong.
If we were to spend an avg of 400 pts for a family of 5 (is that normal?) then it seems to work out to 27-28 vacations you could take over that period.
whew...that's alot of disney, now that explains why most of you have gone over the deep end :rotfl:
The only one of those I can really answer is what the owner's cruise is? Each September, DVC charters the Wonder for a 4 night DVC owner's only cruise. That cruise is only available to DVC members. I haven't been on one so that's about all I know about it. :lmao:

Another question, I'm seeing various resales listed from several resorts...I'm assuming all that really does is affect the price you paid as additional resorts came online. As new resorts were added prices went up...which is where the mention of currently $100 / point came from.
So if you buy a resale at one of these lower prices, does it affect your ability to get other resorts or does it matter? I'm just guessing since I really don;t know much about this...
For example, if you were to buy one of the key west resales at appx 70ish range per point, would it affect how many points needed to stay at the wilderness lodge or any other resort?
Scott re; the info on the DCL, are special cruises also open to using DVC points or is it just the std 3, 4 and 7 night cruises?
Each of the resales also list a month, I'm also assuming that is just your anniversary date (not when you have to use them as opposed to some timeshares that are week-based) which would be when your main fees are due and points become avail.....
doh! oh yeah forgot about those (yes we've been to a few presentations but its been awhile)
ok, what do those tend to run, ie maint fees, etc - any other costs involved?
tks again!!!
rotary2808

Might do it if it was at the Wilderness Lodge Villas instead, but I don't know if we'd want that many points. I doubt we'd use that many and we'd always end up banking probably half of it. :lmao:

The points stay the same no matter where your home resort (the one you buy into) is.
The only thing that is different is your booking window. If you bought that 1000 points at Old Key West, then that would be your home resort. Booking for your home resort is 11 months from your arrival date. Any other DVC property you wish to stay at opens to you for booking at the 9(?) month window.
The month listed is your points year. Like ours is September to September.

The number of points needed for various offerings and accommodation may go up or they may go down. At the various resorts they are leveled, so if a stay during the value season goes down, an stay during an other season would have to go up. For other offerings such as WDW resorts, adventure collection, cruise line,... etc these are separate contracts between the vendor and DVC, and they are renewed on an annual basis, and yes some of those have gone up, esp DCL.
The points I quoted were per person, for the first and second passengers, then there are kids points or adult points for the other members of your party.
So far all cruises, special ones included have been made available for DVC points exchange. All of our cruises have been on points, i.e. PC and this cruise and the Med crossing.

Thanks, :thumbsup2 I tried my best since we've only been members for a year and this trip will be the first time we've used our points. We're not doing the cruise part on points, but we are doing WDW and the Villas at the Wilderness Lodge.

It doesn't sound so bad until you realize that point. I think with DCL & DVC you just have to sit down and do the math. The monetary cost of the cruise and the monetary cost of the points for the cruise and then compare the two.

Basically, what DVC is is paying lump sum and then the maintenance fees for your room. If you're use to staying in first rate rooms then you'll be good to go. Steve and I use ours for both resort DVC rooms and cruise suites. A lot of people say it's not a good idea to cruise on points as it costs more if you figure $10 per point value. But, I love calling member services, paying my $75 booking fee and forgetting about it. Now this is after the initial investment.

The $10 per point is the approximate yearly value of a point. i.e. a 50 point reservation would have a cash value of $500.
Maint fees vary depending on your home resort a ball park number would be about $5 per point per year.
Add about a 107 points to the figure I gave you for your family of 5, that is the appox 2007 point numbers for a western cruise.

The other thing with using points, is you are not paying resort taxes and fees when you go.
Nothing like checking out and your room bill is absolutely ZERO dollars!
Also, when we added our points (250) and got the free Hong Kong trip, they were not $100 per point. Prices just went up I think around July 1st this year.
Plus, you can usually have them back date points and they will give you last year, this year and next, so when you buy say 250 points, you could actually use 750 immediately by banking, using, and borrowing.
I can tell you that we have more than paid for our DVC ownership in cruises and vacations thus far. If you are a Disney fan and keep going back over and over, I can't imagine paying over and over for cruises and rooms.
Nothing I like better than booking a cruise and paying $75.00 for the booking fee! YIPEE!

We bought mainly so that we could cruise more often and it's allowing us to do just that.
Our first DCL trip we were not members and it costs us $8,000 for 4 adults. That would have been a nice downpayment on a DVC membership! :sad2:
We were thinking about doing the DC members only cruise next year but our DS will be getting married so I think we'll give them our points and let them cruise for their honeymoon.

It's open pal! Oh Boy!
Was really busy for a couple hours. Home. Make the Key Lime Pie, grill the burgers and then "booze in the blender". So we are now done with dinner, having the Margs. I will have that pie later.

:confused3

Good to hear Celeste, We pause this post for a commercial, after our Move to Cheyenne, Soggy Moose Diving will be open for business and we can do almost any SCUBA class for ya. Now back to our program.
Because of Lynn’s slow ear clearing, we have her get in before me, and start her descent, other diver get in and I follow and sometime it works out. Also it is a good idea to let the divemaster where ever you are know that you have slow ears.
One of the other things we used to tell students was to try taking Sudafed before the class. It seems to really help ear clearing. After going up and down 75 times chasing students, I found Sudafed to be quite helpful for me! It's safe with diving.
Not sure where Celeste is diving now, but it is also easier to clear in warmer water than colder water. So, hopefully you're currently diving in some frigid pool or lake, and will have an easy time in the Caribbean!
Speaking of which - is anyone diving in St. Thomas that would mind having a tag-along? I didn't setup any diving (DNana doesn't dive) but am getting an itch to go... St. Thomas is the only place left where I don't already have an excursion.

I agree 100% and it sounds like DVC is taking note of people that rent their points out an a regular basis. I never plan on renting out our points, we use them.
Does that mean you are not supposed to rent them out?

I think some of us are diving there. We are, actually diving where ever we can.
Affrin we found to be better than sudafed, lasts longer, although there is a new sudafed 12 hour. Had one student take sudafed and she was biouncing off the walls, so now I tell folks to try it before they dive to see how it affects them.

YIPEE!
Linda
wow considering all those tricks i can see how you come out ahead. As with anything i guess its all in knowing how to work the system. That's why I am asking all you experienced DISners, no one better to know the ins and outs
Thanks all!

Linda
well, that sounds great but its really $75 + the annual maint fee that you pay.
I know its still cheap but when you borrow you will also pay the maint fee and not use points that following year right?
well... unless of course you still have some left over and/or rent addtl points.
i guess that helps you too, you can rent addtl points w/o having to pay the additional maint normally required for those points.

We are DVC members, but we did a half and half. One with points and one with cash, because of a shortage of points from last year.
Now if we had a gazillion points, that would not be a problem.

Calling all Radisson guests - and anyone else in the Port Canaveral area!
On Saturday afternoon - say around 2:30 ish? let's MEET poolside by the funny looking tiki hut and see if we can talk the bartender into trying to make Konk Koolers! Kids (if you have them) can splash and play in the pool It'll be practice for CC. After a cooler or two (alcoholic or otherwise) - we'll head over to Grills to watch the Magic glide by on it's way out of port.
Tracy posted a list in the newsletter - but I'd like to get a final count. I'll be calling Grills to beg them to set aside some prime viewing room for our group. Having never been to Grills before, this could be quite entertaining. Any suggestions from former Grill-ee's?
So far I have the following:
SweetSue (3), Harry in Michigan (1), BethE (1), Krdisneybound (2), BobandLee (2), SuzieDisney (3) and PrettyInTink (2)
Let me know if there is anyone else interested - even if you aren't staying at the Radisson. It's a chance to meet up with your fellow DISers before the cruise and take a rare shot of the Magic leaving port (I'm usually ON the Magic...).

Scott H-
Is this grand event flip flop casual or do I have to dust off my fancy duds?
Do we need to bring anything (ie. wine, beer, snacks)?
My internet card is about to lose service in 30-45 minutes so I won't make my 10 for the day I'm afraid!
PIT, I've been meaning to ask you, what exactly do you use for your wireless internet svc? Appx how much does it cost?
tks
