Heather and you others who wished us the best, Dad should be home for Easter BUT he has to spend tomorrow night. Saturday night will depend how much pain he is still in. Apperently(sp) this is a painful surgery. :confused3 Huh, what'a I know I thought they all were.
DS 10 Bryan made a thoughtful card at school for him. He heard me over talking about the will and such and is thinking Papa will not make it out.... :sad2: Very sensitive boy. Oops, blabbing again! Thanks to you all, I am headed to bed.
For those of you that got :cold: today, sorry. Hoping we just get :umbrella: the first of the week.

Mary - I agree any surgery is painful, but I hope your dad proves them all wrong! Children have amazing range, don't they. Never think they are not listening. My daughter is so sad about her friend also. My husband tried to explain the surgery he was going to have....the next day she was crying because she thought they cut his ear off. :earseek:. We'll bethinking of you and your family tom.....
I think Aug. is going to be busier than March as far as birthdays go. Maybe that has something to do with the choice of sailing when we are. ;)
What happened......we hit page 200 and where is everyone :confused3 Maybe we have talked ourselves out :rolleyes1

Busy people today at the key boards. yeah page 200 :cool1:
I am not much better today either. I tried to sleep a few hrs on the couch... The wheezes I have wake me up and it scares the kids.. Its sounds like a death RATTLE,,lol :rotfl:
Anyone have connection to CHRYSLER because I have a true lemon of a car. Thank GOD I have the 100000 miles warrenty.... I took it in with 82057 miles on it.. and they swear to me they drove it around the area to correct the problem and the miles out were 82061... well driving it to my drive-way didnt even make it to 82061. A simple oil change and state inspection cost me $128 and change.. I am furious.. and than they never called me when it was ready... so I had to go there with MARTY at 715 PM.. wheezing and coughing all over them,,lol I swear the girl thought I was going to die on her desk.. I was LIVID..
ok sorry i just had to vent... pirate:
Terry have a good time with your sister..
Barb,, nice to put a name to the screen name
Sue feel free to write anytime, I love reading your accent... :teeth:
I better get to bed. I have a 915 DRs appointment to start my day off.. and I hope to get a call from the service manager at this CHRYSLER store..
Sweet dreams... :cloud9: :cloud9:

Good Morning Everyone,
We got in a bit late last evening and Angelina was feeling ill, poor thing went straight to bed and fell asleep within minutes. Will probably take it easy today and change our plans around. No fever last night, will be checking that again after she wakes up this morning.
Congrats on reaching page 200 and post 3000 while I was away from the boards last evening, I knew you could do it!!!
Have a WONDERful and MAGICal day!!!

Good morning everyone
Andy - Hope Angelina feels better today
Jonathan's home today (lucky kid).
I have a meeting this morn that takes me out of town. "How to run reports to clean up the circulation system" Told him if he needs anyone Dad will be easier to get in touch with even though he's 30mins from home. Oh well by 1pm I should be back to check on him.
I work in the children's dept of our town library. I prefer the part of my job where I enter the new books, keep the system clean, etc - more of the tech serv end.
Have a good day everyone

Barb: My DS is also named Jonathan. Spelled the same way. He is 14. We aren't taking the kids on this cruise. They are going to spend time at WDW with grandparents.

John fixed my computer! It was the power supply, which is what I thought it was. Ed, we used to own an internet service and during the day I did tech support for our customers, so I knew enough to check the cords and all of the other obvious reasons. But thanks anyway. It was amazing how many people overlooked the most simple things. lol

How is everyone doing in The Illness area?..Hope all is well..
I have a question for our next cruise in October...
I havent been to St. Marteen or St. Thomas since I was 20....What is there to do now?..
I have no Idea... :confused3
Cindy Likes the beach's and Well..I like to drink...I saw a sky tram in St. Thomas that looks good, so I know we will be doing that...
Any Help will be appreciated...

Definately do the tram on St Thomas. It is really cool. You can walk to it from the pier. Once you get to the top there is a restaurant and shops and an awesome view. I got a shot of the Magic that looks like a postcard.
There is a bird show, too. and you can have your photo taken with the birds. Sandy has a photo of a tropical bird sitting on her head and one cradle in her arms. Really neat.
Wish we were going too! I prefer the eastern itinerary.

TERRY Glad you are back in working order...or at least your PC is.
ANDY Hope Angelina is feeling much better today. No fun being sick on vacation.
Hello BARB!
DOREEN - You go get 'em girl! Chrysler beware! You seriouly should not have to deal with this kind of thing when you are not feeling well. Take care!
I just sent my letter to Sears Customer Service. Must be a bad week for consumers.
MARY We are still praying for your dad.
HEATHER August will certainly be a full month for birthdays! DD's is 8/20. And that IS why we choose to sail in Aug. Not to mention all the wonderful company onboard with us!

Angelina had kind of a rough night, she just got up about an hour ago. We were supposed to see Shirley at The Perfect Gift today and go to Dixie Crossroads for lunch so we could get our Rock Shrimp, but we had to cancel that for today with Angelina not feeling well, we decided to stay here at my mom's. The sky is very dark right now, and I can hear the thunder getting closer as I type. I hope the weather and Angelina are doing better tomorrow because we have our three hour paddle boat excursion planned on the St. Johns River. We get a nice buffet lunch with the paddle boat excursion as well.
O.K., the thunderstorm is just too close for comfort so I'm shutting the computer down for a while.
Bye for now,
Andy

Andy,
Hopefully the Tstorms have passed and you have some sun.
With any luck Angelina starts to feel better, rough thing for a child to feel ill on a vacation. :wizard: :wizard: Some PD for good measure.
Well as you heard most of the snow is melting fast.
Heather, looks like the 8/19/06 cruise is fast turning into one big Bday party,
I have # 49 right before the cruise on 8/15 lol.
If all works out we should be at WDW for that one. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Evening all,
Hope you are all well. It is Good Friday today and the weather over here is beautiful, low 70's with the sun shining brightly. This is the first of my 10 days off from work, so Vicki and I went out this afternoon down to our local beauty spot and sat outside, over looking the river, eating ice cream, and drinking smoothies it was so good to feel the sun. :sunny:
Barb: Lovley to call you "BARB" looking forward to meeting you this August at Trails end.
Mary: Hope your dad is well on the mend, what a lovley thing your dear son did making a card. Best wishes to you.
Heather: Hope all is well with you.
Doreen: Come on girl, get yourself better. Thinking of you in my welsh accent :grouphug:
Andy: So sorry Angelina is not feeling too good, nothing worse than being ill on your holidays, take care and hope you are able to make your plans tomorrow.
Tina: How are you my dear neighbour, not long to your trip to vegas, any chance you can fit me in your case?.
Terry: So glad your computer is fixed now, I thought we had a new family when you posted under you dh name lol.
Ed: August is indeed a busy month for birthdays, where do you plan on staying the night before the cruise? We were thinking of the Raddison or maybe 1 night somewhere at WDW and getting Disney transfers.
Bobby: Hi there, I bet you are looking forward to your cruise in October,I have never been to St Marteen or St Thomas but they both look great.
Darlene: How is Stan? I do hope he is better. My daughter is an August birthday girl as well on the 17th.
Sorry if I have missed out anyone, hosting this quiz is really putting me behind with reading all the posts, never mind it ends next Thursday 31st. Oh which by the way is my birthday day. I will have to have a celebration smoothie to mark the end of the quiz and my birthday.
Take Care all,

Our tentative plans are for Jon & I to fly down Aug 12 and spend a few days at WDW. Dave will fly down that Fri, rent a car from Avis, come pickup Jon & myself. (Unless he joins us earlier at WDW). We'll then drive over to the Radisson at port, and turn in the rental car. Have the Radisson shuttle us to port early Sat morn.
We did Avis & the Radisson back in 03 and it worked out well.

Update on Nick, He was supposed to go home tom., but he has been getting sick all day. He is also very pale and says his head is really hurting him. They are trying to get him in for emergency catscan. My friend overheard the nerologist that it might be another blood clot! Please continue good thoughts for him. The family is starting to break down. I am waiting to hear the results. I will probably go to the hospital tom. to show support. I feel so helpless! They didn't even tell thier inlaws because the Grandma has been so upset. I hope this hole ordeal is over soon and the family can recover. I am reminded how lucky I am!
Bobby - That was great of you to post your day by day. I love to watch storms in the distance. Did you get pictures of those? Do you think there is any chance for a repeat :teeth: .
Mary - Hope all went well with your dad today and he is % soon. :goodvibes :wizard:
Doreen - Feel free to vent anytime, that is what we are here for. Are you on a nebulizer? Feel better soon forget the car and just get some rest. :goodvibes :wizard:
Andy - Is Angelina feeling any better? I hope she is well for the paddle boat excursion. The weather has been crazy down there. I hope it moves on rapidly. :moped:
Terry - Glad your computer is well again! Thanks for the update as well, weeks!! :cheer2: :cheer2:
Ed - I think 8/15 is close enough for a double celebration.

Urgh, morning all. :teeth: Very long day yesterday! Dad is doing as well as expected. Surgery went well, once they got in there it turned out better than we thought. Cuff not torn and did not end up having it pinned. nor did he have a plate put in. Do they go hand and hand?? Still on my learning curve of life :rotfl: They (stitched) it together and should heal well and he should be "healed" in 3-6 months! He thinks it will only be 3, Step Mom has not told him differnetly yet.... However he did get sick to his stomach so we never got to see him until he got his room last night at 6:30!! He went in at 11:40'ish. DGM and I basically gave him a kiss on the forehead and started my 3 1/2 hour journey home. :earseek:
 Promised the boys I would let them go icefishing today with a family friend since it is the last day of the season they can go. So, we are headed out the door!!
From the bottom of my heart :grouphug: to all those who sent good wishes! I hopped on in one of the waiting rooms and showed SM. She was amazed how kind/thoughtful you all are. So thanks from her as well. :flower:

Good Morning From Stormy Florida,
We are having another day like yesterday weather wise. We're going to call at 9am to see if the paddle boat cruise excursion is still a go. The temp is going up to 85 today with more severe thunderstorms predicted. I hope the weather is better tomorrow afternoon, as that is when we will be flying home.
Angelina had a better night last night, and no signs of a fever since yesterday morning. We stayed close to the area and did manage to go to the movies again last evening and saw "Miss Congeniality 2" which was a riot.
Mary--Prayers and Pixie Dust for your dad's quick recovery, I hope he does well with PT!!!
Time to go get some breakfast and get ready for our last full day here, take care everyone and here's wishing you all a happy and safe weekend!!!

Hi All,
We had a real nice time today on the Beresford Lady during our three hour paddle boat ride. It rained a good part of the ride, but by then we were back inside enjoying a very delicious buffet lunch. I was very impressed with the Beresford Lady, this paddle boat was built by hand and took about 18 years to build. The owners have only been doing the paddle boat tour rides for just a little over four years. I did get a couple of nice photos of us on the paddle boat.
We were going to take a ride to Port Canaveral after we got off the paddle boat ride and watch the Magic sail away this evening, but it was still raining too hard, so we just came back to my mom's and she made us dinner tonight.
Thanks for the pixie dust, Angelina is feeling much better today. Tomorrow it is back to reality and Monday it is back to work.
Well, I'm going to close for now.

Hi,
I posted this on another thread, but thought I'd add it to thread too. I just booked our 2nd Disney Cruise today, for 8/19/06!! Two visits to Castaway Cay will be heaven!
We have a Category 6 and have been assigned to room 6110 (anyone ever have this room? We stayed in 6052 last time and liked the location a lot!!) At the time of sailing we will be: me (42) DH (44) DD (11) DD (8) (seems weird to write that my "baby" will be 8, and that I'll be 42, nonetheless!!!!)

Good Morning All, and to those of us who celebrate, Happy Easter!!!
Welcome Aboard Michele and Family to the Cruisin' Castaways Family!!!
This will most likely be my last post from Florida for this trip :sad2: but at least it looks like it is going to be a much nicer day weather wise here. We will be leaving here around 11am for the airport, hopefully, we will get in at least Group B again for the flight home.
I really am not looking forward to leaving these warmer temps for the chilly temps up home, but you got to do, what you got to do, don't you? :confused3
It's time to start getting everyone on the move here, so I will check in later.
Have a BLESSED day,

We jad a very bumpy ride home on the plane, and what a cold reception, when we walked outside of PHL Airport. :cold:

Hope everyone had a nice Easter yesterday. Even though my DS is 14 he still looks forward to waking up and going on an egg hunt in the morning. :confused3 I will continue to do it as long as they want me to. I also put pieces of paper in them which lead them to other prizes that they have to find. We wen't out to dinner last night then drooped Chuck off at a Hotel directly across from the airport. :( He had to get up at 4:00 and we didn't want 2 cars at the airport one for two weeks the other for a week. I have alot of appointments and running around to do. :moped: Why I wait to do these things just before I leave for a trip .......... :confused3

Hi Everybody
Beautiful day here in Cardiff once again, we were going to go out but I am not up to it.
I had a lousy day yesterday afternoon I tripped over a silly cable wire, and fell smack bang down onto a wooden coffee table(no I had'nt been drinking lol). To make matters worse I had my hands full, so could not put them out to save myself, and managed to catch a small display cabinet on the way down which came down with all it's contents on top of me.
So I am sat here feeling very sorry for myself, with cuts and bruises all over, I frightened the life out of Vicki, and I shook like a leaf for a good while after, I dont think I have done any serious damage, but my hand is cut, I was carrying china, winded myself, and have a good couple of serious bruises on my legs.
Andy, glad you arrived home safely and so glad Angelina is feeling better, so sorry you have to go to work today, take care and hope you feel better soon.
Good job I have no work this week, as I look as though I have been a few rounds in the boxing ring.
Hope you are all well.

ANDY - Not a nice day to be outside, my friend. Hope it doesn't make you feel worse. Try to stay dry.
DOREEN - How is Marty? He's lucky to have you.
MICHELE - The "Cruisin' Castaways" are a great group. I can't wait to meet all the members who have joined our motley crew for the 2006 cruise. To all who celebrate: Hope you had a good Easter. I wated till the last second and could not find a chocolate bunny anywhere. She did get one from my mom though. I have been doing very little candy in the baskets anyway.

Andy - I saw your reply on the other thread, do you know of any odd lots closer than AC? Glad you are back and Angelina is feeling better. Did you get to sit together on the way home? Sorry you had not so great weather for your stay at least you did get to do the paddle ride. I hope you are feeling better. After a day like this you need to sit and relax cuddled under a warm blanket, eating warm chocolate chip cookies and a hot chocolate.
Mary - Glad things worked out well for you dad. That was a long trip, but I am sure it meant alot to him that you were there. I hope that you are not getting rain as heavy as it is coming down here! :umbrella: We are under a flood watch too.
Michele - Welcome to you and your family  My dd will turn 7 on the cruise. I booked with Mouse Ears and saved alot of money. They purchase a certain # of rooms when they first become available, and then cell them later at a higher rate. Thier rates are still lower.
Darlene - Hope all goes weel with your ankle. How much longer do you have to wait till your sugery? How is Stan doing? Another treatment this week?
Bobby - I was just noticing how talented you are....maybe we could convice you to do magnetic door signs for all of us?
on that note: Dori, how are you?
Tina - 4 more days! are you like Andy or are you all packed?
Sue - I hurt just listening to that story. :sad2: I hope you are taking it easy and are on the mend. Maybe some bath salts in a warm (hot in my case) bath would do just the trick!
Ed - What kind of car are you looking at? I think we will buy a new Toyota Sienna this year. I have the 2000, but there are soooo many new things. I am debating on buying before or after our drive to NC in August and WDW in November. :confused3

I go away all the time with just my DD or with my sister and her 2 DS. Last April DD and I flew down and spent Spring Break in Vero Beach. We had a great time.
I look at it this way - if I wait for DH I'd still be sitting on the couch. And I can travel CHEAPER without him. That doesn't sound good, does it? But really, I can keep dining costs down and DD and I are happy to sit by the pool or on the beach without expensive entertainment.
It makes my mom nervous but I am used to traveling without a man. I was a single mom with 3 boys for many years.
I've been to HHI and it is a great place to relax with kids.

You didn't miss anything! I don't think I really talked about my ankle because I'm starting to feel like such a LOSER. I'm trying to concentrate on HAPPY THOUGHTS. I messed up some ligaments in my ankle when I tried to walk and talk at the same time. LOL It was dark in Wash DC and I missed a curb and badly turned my already disabled ankle (prior bad break).
Stan is doing well, just tired. He had his week off treatment last Wed and goes for his fourth this Wed. His blood count is good and he looks good. Good color in his face. I'm trying not to schedule evening activities so he can rest when he gets home from work.
He sure looked handsome yesterday in his suit! I changed into a jogging suit the minute I got home from church. And NO, I don't jog.
How's Matt? At least you don't have anymore snow to worry about when he is driving. At least I hope not. You must be getting so excited for your older son's visit!

HEY!!! WHAT HAPPENED TO MY COUNTDOWNS????
Darlene: No need to feel like a loser. I did the very same thing in Disneyworld coming out of the Country Bear Jamboree. It was dark and I didn't see the end of the porch and feel right off. Luckily I only cut up my knees and hurt my pride other than that I was fine. Hopefully it is nothing serious with your ankle, maybe you just need some PT.
I am glad to hear that Stan is doing well. I know sometimes chemo wipes you out. What happens when you go on the repo cruise? Does he just skip those treatments?
Matt is doing well, he can't wait to graduate and has basically stopped all school work. He thinks he can just coast to the finishline I guess.
You are right I can't wait to see my DS. Everytime he comes home I try to persuade him to move back, but no such luck.

To all who are feeling ill and suffering from injuries here is a :grouphug:
I made it through the day!!! It wasn't a lot of fun out there today, but at least my banging headache went away, and I am able to eat food once again. Having some scrambled eggs and toast for dinner, trying to keep my meals light today.
We got Group B on our return flight Sunday and were able to sit together in row 16. We arrived at MCO at 12 noon for our "scheduled" 3pm departure. The plane had a mechanical problem which delayed our leaving Orlando by more than an hour, then we had the bumpiest flight ever finally arriving in Philly around 6:30pm. Hazel even spilled her soda all down the front of her, because as she was getting ready to take a sip, we hit some very bad turbulance. I think what we were going through yesterday, is the storm we are having here today.
Ed--congrats on the new car!!!

We asked the oncologist about the timing of the repo cruise and he said to definately plan on going. They will work out a schedule around it. He spoke very matter-of-factly about it all. I guess I am just still overwhelmed by the whole thing and the doctors and nurses see it all day in and day out. Stan does seem to be doing well but I can't always trust him to tell me things right away. That's how he ended up so sick on OUR cruise.
My DS and his wife are house hunting in FL. He will get out of the Marines in July and that is where they will settle. At least FL is a little closer than your son. It's hard to be so far away, isn't it.
I never did go for the x-ray. I think I caught a little of what Andy has today. Didn't want to stray too far from home, if you know what I mean. That means I have to go first thing in the morning. Fun.

I didn't drive to VERO, we flew into West Palm Beach, I got a really good fare at the time. I have taken many road trips though. HHI would be a pretty good ride for you too. If you have a friend to trade off driving with it makes it easier. And you must have a reliable car. (Haven't always taken that advice myself.) Personally, I always drive. My sister doesn't like to drive if she doesn't have to. The big joke with one of my nephews is "how long will it take us" when he finds out he is going with me. He knows it is going to be HOURS!
Wish I had more vacation time, I would offer to drive you!

We have been driving for all our trips so far and plan to do this for the next two (i think). A) it is expensive to fly B) it is not really that bad for us, my dd is great in the car and C) if we fly once, my dd won't think driving is the only way to FL! :rotfl: Thank you for the offer to drive. Well, if you change your mind I am really lokking to do something that last week of April! Anyway, feel better!!! and good luck. Also, good luck to DS and his wife. Hello All,
Jennifer - Hello, Congratulations on your adoption.
Hope everyone this is under the weather feels well soon.
Well after a very trying time at the dealership, I have my new car.
Barb, while I like the Taurus, I had one from 1990 - 2001, and was a Ford driver since 1984, I went with the
2005 Nissan Altima 2.5 s,
Sun roof, ABS, fog lamps, and lots of power everything lol.
Guess which car is now going to Fl :rotfl2:
Majestic Blue is the color.
It was time for a change, that and I picked up a used altima last year from my dw, that was an upgrade from a 1993 Ford Escort.

Hey All!
Sorry that I've been out of touch, but life has been rather hectic lately. I've already started working at home part of the time (even though I don't have my office set up yet.) Unfortunately, I don't have the bandwidth to keep a window open on the DISboard while I'm working from home - the perils of dial-up. I am planning on going high-speed in the very near future.
I finally got my spare bedroom cleaned up last night. Now, if I can get a day where it isn't absolutely pouring rain, then I can get the old furiture moved out to the barn for storage. I'm hoping to be able to put my new wallpaper border up in the room this coming weekend. (Yes, wallpaper border. If I'm going to be spending 8 hours a day in this room, I'm going to set it up in a way so that I'll enjoy spending my time in there. I'm even planning on putting a 'cat tree' in one corner of the room so my 'shadow' will have an out-of-the-way place to sit and watch me.)
I guess that I'd better go. I have an appointment with the periodontist (for my TMJ) in about 20 minutes. I've got to see about getting another night guard/splint. My current one is cracked on both sides. This is the second one I've totalled in the last 7 years. Keep in mind that these things are hard acrylic plastic, like a retainer. (I grind my teeth so hard at night that I'm surprised I have any teeth left. And it's not just stress, either. I've been grinding my teeth since childhood.)
After the periodonist, I'm heading home to work for the afternoon. Devin sure seems to like having mom around more. (We'll see if it lasts through his teenage years...)
Take care and I'll yak at y'all later!

Andy,
Thank you, glad your feeling better.
The car came together very quickly, I went looking Saturday, and finalized the deal yesterday and drove it home last night, (late in the pouring rain)
Ah to have a car I can stretch out my leg with the bad knee again feels great.
Now I just have to get used to the feel of the car.
We all should have such problems :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Sad thing I will be paying for this one for five years. :sad2:

Hi everybody:
Just got in; Tuesday, 2pm. We were supposed to drive home yesterday but the torrential rains, strong winds, and flooding kept us in NJ for an extra day. Good thing my sons hadn't missed any days of school yet, since now they've been out the last 2 days. :teeth:
Had a great time in NJ, spent all of my time with my sister and niece and their families, and my father, and other relatives we saw at the anniversary party on Saturday. :grouphug:
I have unpacking to do, then laundry. I'll try and read what I've missed later. But to be honest, even before I went away I wasn't doing a great job of keeping up with all of the posts.
I hope everyone is doing well. :wave2:

Hello all! Oh my the drive home last night! We only got a few inches but they thought we would just get a dusting. Not really snow but sluch. Very tricky driving home, pushed that way, pulled this way. I had it in 4-wheel drive and not sure if it helped or made it worse?? Many, many accidents. One of Tim's employees totaled (sp does not look right) anyway... his car. Nothing broken but lots of bruises. They are saying it will easily be in the 50's tomorrow :cheer2:
All the "excitment" is catching up with me I think. I am a bit "testy" so will close before my poor attitude comes across.

We got a rude awakening with our $40,000.00 estimate to remodle our 2 & 1/2 baths ! :scared1: We also have plans on remodeling the kitchen so.........we are now thinking of buying a new house. We went back and forth with this before we started getting estimates, but decided we have done so much to the house and love our neighbors to much to move. It also makes a difference that DH was told yesturday he is getting another promotion and this one is bigger than the last! I am so proud of him. He is only 33 and with a GED, has managed to climb way up the corporate ladder. He is an excellent manager. The best part is he loves this job. The bad part is he has to commute to N. Jersey every day. Anyway...if we do sell, we have alot to do to the house first! :sad2:

I don't know about you though, when I am typing the cat is always right there in front of the screen trying to massage my face. My dh says they are having a free adoption at PetCo this weekend and it would be OK if I wanted to get another cat. That would make 3 again! The one is old and won't have more than a few years left. I just had her teeth cleaned yest. to the tune of $180.00 :scared1: I guess since it was 16 years in the making that it is ok? :sad2:

Mary - Snow! I guess I should not have been complaining then. I hope your day is :sunny: I refuse to buy any new clothes untill I loose weight.
Barb - Thank you for the reminder of summer. I can wait for that, it looks like spring just started today :sunny: .
Tina - I am right there with you. I usually put my dd's stuff in dh's, so I don't get yelled at. But I have the largest suit case! I am not even sure it would be allowed on a plane anymore! If I don't make it back here, have a great trip and enjoy the warmth!

I told Trish it was a good thing that she and Angelina were going to the mall tonight, because the weather forecast was changed from 3" of rain to 30" of snow. The look on Trish's face was "priceless" I wish I had my camera on and got a photo of her. I'm three for three today, I got Hazel and Angelina earlier. Barb--I know just what you mean!!! The one good thing about this weather is, I was able to get caught up on the DCL postcard requests that have been coming in last week and this week. Now, it's off to the post office to get the postcards on their way!!!

Good Morning Andy - Dave was called in to work overtime so I cleaned the 3bathroom, front hall and kitchen floors - they were wayyyy overdue (I dont like housecleaning esp when he's home)
Jonathan & I are on our way to Blockbusters
thats so nice of you to do the postcards for the kids
I did go through our pressed penny book. I think this Aug we'll try to get more from the resorts. Jon's book is full but there is alot of SeaWorld in there.
I want to take a look at his EpCot passport and see what needs to be done in there too. Heck I'll hand it to the CMs if he thinks its not "cool"

I took a nap this afternoon, that was until the rain started hitting the living room window so hard it woke me up. The water, running down the street in front of our house, looked like a river flowing by. We did a have a few sections of town that were underwater, and roads were closed for a while. At least the rain has now ended.

Good Morning All,
I woke up like usual at 5:30 this morning, and tried to convince myself that it was really only 4:30 and that I should go back to sleep for another hour or so, sadly that didn't work. It always takes me a few days to get used to this time change. In one way it was good I got up when I did because our thermostat was acting up this morning and I had to reset the thermostat. Our oil company is coming out this Wednesday to service our central air and oil heater(yearly cleanings), and we are having them install a new thermostat as well.
Have a Happy Sunday everyone!!!

Hi everyone,
Hope everyone is doing good. Just had about 10 pages to catch up on. Been real busy between work and studying for 2 tests at school. :teacher: I got my biopsy report back on the endoscopy that I had, and everything is fine. I just have to stay on Nexium. On Wednesday, I got a cortisone shot in my elbow for a "tennis elbow". :faint: I don't even play tennis LOL, but it hurt. I'm afraid of needles.
Bobby - I really enjoyed reading your "Live from the Magic" post. I felt like I was there with everyone.
Mary - how is your dad doing? How are you doing?
Darlene - how's Stan doing? How's your ankle?
Doreen - hope you are feeling better.
Jennifer - congrats on Emilie's adoption being finalized. You must be thrilled.
Linda - would love to hear about your cruise since we're going on the Glory in August. :boat:
Sue - I hope you are feeling much better and I'm sorry I missed your birthday. Hope it was a great day.
Lisa - hope you had a happy birthday too.
Terry - any definite dates for the April meet? Hope you are doing well.
Ed - congrats on your new car. Hope you enjoy many trips in it.

Thanks for asking about Stan. He seems to be doing very well. The chemo causes some fatigue but he's a trooper. :cool1:
I do have a question for anyone who has been through the "sick spouse" thing. Is it ok to get mad at a sick spouse when he does something that you would have creamed him for before he got sick? I'm struggling with the guilt of being angry at my poor DH. Of course he deserves it. But should it really matter that he did something that drives me crazy as long as he is here? :confused3

I cried when they called his name.. WAHOOO  :cheer2:

Just checking in before I head off to bed. I went to see my orthopedic surgeon after work for my check-up. I wound up getting a cortisone shot in my right knee. Because of the nasty weather we have been having, I have been in extreme pain since Friday. The shot made me a bit sick to my stomach after I first got it, but I am starting to feel better, and the pain in my knee is feeling less severe. I go back to see the doc in six weeks.

Darlene - My DD just turned 6 the other day, so 7 at time of cruise. Our whole timing is based on DS being almost 3 1/2 so I'll be hard-core geared to getting him full-up potty trained before August 06!
Andy - hope you are feeling better. I loved the story and pictures of you getting to sound the ship's horn. That was so cool! (Actually, I think the whole notion of the Captain knowing you by your handle was just as great!)

Doreen--I'm feeling fine tonight, pain in the knee is nearly completely gone and my stomach is feeling back to normal. I've had a few cortisone shots in the past, and I always get an upset stomach after these shots and it always last about 24 hours. I don't seem to do well when it comes to foreign injections entering my body. The only thing I don't seem to have trouble with is flu shots.

Andy and Doreen, have been "evesdropping" on your conversation over knee pain :guilty: Tim "blew" one of his knees out a few years ago and still gives him great discomfort now and again. His other knee bothers as well now from "babying" the other one... Did not know about the shots so may mention it to him. I do not think he has as much pain as you though Andy. Over the weekend will try to find the oinment you were speaking of Doreen. Maybe it will help both of us sleep better ;)

Mary--I woke up this morning pain free in my right knee, these shots can last for months or up to years depending on each person. Me, being on my feet all day, plus climbing so many stairs, and then bending up and down reading curb meters, I tend not to get relief as long as others do. But this shot was really needed for me this time. I'm going to see if I can find the cream that Doreen mentioned as well, and give that a try.
We are going into the upper 70's today, with plenty of :sunny: it will actually feel like Spring today!!!

Hi Doreen--I came home from work on Monday at 3pm and Hazel had dinner ready for me because she knew I would be in the doctor's office for over two hours. So I did have a nice meal before getting the shot. I arrived at the doctor's office at 4pm and was finally leaving at 6:10pm. The doctor was in surgery, he didn't even get to the office until 5pm. That's what I was saying before, I always have the same reaction to these cortisone shots, whether I eat before I go, or not, just my system I guess.
I just got home for lunch and it's time to put on the shorts and t-shirt. It is absolutely beautiful here today, going up to 78 degrees!!!

Thanks for answering, Doreen. I hope Bobby or Cindy or Joanna or maybe even "Carmen" (where are they all????) might be able to help out with directions to the Bronx Zoo. They have directions online but I am still clueless.
Jaclyn's birthday celebration sounds like so much fun! Sandy's school is closed tomorrow so I decided to be sick (mental health day). I can't wait to hear all about Jaclyn's party!!

Hello Eveyone ! :wave2:
I am back from Vegas :cool1: I feel more like back from the twilight zone. My plane left last night at 10:40 and I had to change planes in Detroit but landed in Rochester at 8:35 this morning ! I got home around 9:30. My DD will be home soon so I will make this short. The weather was simply beautiful. Nice place to visit but wouldn't want to live there. The Paris Hotel WOW felt like you were in Paris. Chuck's company put us in a Jr. suite we saw on the back of the door that the room rate goes for 2000.00 a night :earseek: It was a very beautiful room with 2 views of the city. We didn't do the helicopter tour, instead we did a 6 hour tour that included a plane ride that landed on the west rim of the Canyon and a bus guided tour. We had lunch with some Indians and my DH and I were able to spend some quality time together. It was  We will never forget it. I can't wait to show you the pictures. I will try to have Chuck do it by this weekend. We are soooooo tired. Will write more later. Glad to be home. Tina

Doreen - Tell Jaclyn I said Happy Birthday - 16 WOW!!!
Its a busy birthday weekend in my house too. Courtney is 10 today, Bob's birthday is on Saturday and then Courtneys birthday party with 17 girls at gymnastics is on Sunday. And then I get to do it all over again in 2 weeks with 26th 1st graders at Chuck E Cheese for Connors 7th birthday on the 24th. YIKES - Im gonna be be broke by the time this month is over.
On a sadder note... Bob didnt get the job that he applied for a few weeks ago. Headhunter called and said the company went with someone he hadnt even referred that the big shot in the company knew. Oh well, I guess this wasnt the right one for him. But to cheer Bob up I booked another trip to Florida. We leave right after the kids get out of school on June 15th and then come home on Sunday June 19th.

I am so bummed about the job. But, like you said, this just wasn't the ONE. I know you will keep trying.
On a lighter note: You are a very brave woman! Chick-E-Cheese with all those 1st graders will be so LOUD. :listen: ! Good Luck. Happy Birthday to Courtney! :cake:

I think my sister wants to go the the Bronx Zoo sometime this spring. We'll see. I had really wanted to go the Williamsburg (Busch Gardens) but it was too far to travel with the days she has available. She works a weird schedule.

Ginny--sorry to hear that Bob's job in Florida didn't work out.
I'm having some computer problems this evening, so right now I'm working off my very S-L-O-W and very O-L-D laptop. I took a nap just waiting for this thing to dial-up. Oh wait, I just heard the Magic's horn blast on my desktop, I'm back in service. Time to shut this thing down and get back on my desktop.

Hi everyone:
Regarding a meet this month, I will be in NJ from Monday, April 18th through Sunday, April 24th. What day do you all want to meet? :)
How about a Massachusetts/New England meet? Ed, I know you're down in CT, a few of us are in MA, how about a meet in Mystic, CT? Or somewhere else... I'm open to anywhere. :) It can be any weekend since it wouldn't be too far for any of us. Let me know who's interested, and when :)
P.S. Regarding the NJ meet: My dad lives around the corner from the diner we met at the last time. He has a pigeon coop and raises and races homing pigeons. Little kids seem to love that; he'd probably love to show the birds to any of the kids :) That's if you all want to meet at the same place again. Of course, we can meet where any of you want to meet.

Ginny - sorry to hear about the job. :(
Doreen - how are you feeling?
Tina - welcome back.
Andy - I was glad to know that I wasn't cracking up yet. The day after I had my cortisone shot I had to leave work early because I felt nauseous and had stomach problems. My co-workers told me it wasn't from the shot. After reading that you also weren't feeling glad after your cortisone shot, I felt better. (Not that you didn't feel good but to know I wasn't alone)
Sue - how are you doing? Are you feeling any better?

Hi Bev--it's just like everything else, different people, react to different things, in different ways. For example, when I took Nyquil, I would sleep like a baby all night, when Hazel took Nyquil, she was up cleaning the house at 3 in the morning. Maybe I should give her Nyquil more often, LOL!!! :rotfl:

"The U.S. Department of State has issued new directives for traveling abroad. Beginning on 12/31/05, Passports will be required when traveling to and from the Caribbean/Bahamas."
It doesn't effect us because we already have passports but my friends we are traveling with don't so they will have to get them for the cruise next August.

Hi Everyone
:bday: :cake: For those Celebrating sorry I missed.
Ginny: Sorry your DH didn't get the job. Everything happens for a reason. Now a better one will come along. :teeth:
Darlene: I was in AWE of the Grand Canyon. Seeing it in the movies or t.v doesn't begin to tell what it really is like. I hope to have DH put pictures up this weekend and even that won't do it justice. Close your eyes and picture this........Your with less then 20 people and a couple of indians no fences or guard rails your completly at peace with the most beautiful view all around. You have lunch under a tent sitting at a picnic table and this is your view like colors in a rainbow all around you. There is a 4000 foot drop below you. You take a bus back to the terminal a fly away in plane. Nothing like landing on the rim either. We were on the west rim of the Canyon. The plane also flew over Boulder City, Hoover Dam, Lake Mead. I hope this gives you an idea in your mind on what we saw.
Our minds and bodies are catching up with us. I have a little more laundry to do. I am still tired........Over tired. Welcome to the new famlies. Tina

I booked through DCL. I haven't heard anything. I have a passport already. It's good information to know. Thanks for passing it on. :)
Tina: It sounds like you had a great trip. It is a fabulous place to visit but I agree I wouldn't want to live there.
I have only been to Vegas once but loved it. My husand and I went over Memorial Day weekend 4 years ago and it was 110 degrees. We didn't get to see a whole lot but we did make it to the Hoover Dam and I got to see Wayne Newton and the Follies at the Tropicana. We stayed at Treasure Island in a Junior Suite and it was really plush  . I would go again in a heart beat.
We are talking to our friends about going to Hawaii and my friends husband works for a casino gaming equipment company so we can get rooms in Vegas for practically nothing. So we are thinging about stopping over in Vegas for a few days on the way down or back from Hawaii. I really want to see Celine Dion or Elton John's show.

NJ meet update:
I spoke to my niece this evening and she said she made plans for us for Saturday, April 23, so it looks like Sunday, April 24, would be better for me.
Who wants to get together on Sunday, April 24?? How about another breakfast/brunch meet, at the same place? I am open to suggestions, but we all seemed to have a good time at that diner the last time. :) I can call and reserve that back room again.
P.S. I will be in NJ again in July. I'll be driving down on July 13th (Wednesday) and staying for probably a week. How does that weekend sound to everyone? Those dates would be July Sat. 16th/Sun. 17th.

Just heard back from DU.... they have two connecting Cat 6's!!! 6100 and 6102. Price isnt too bad either... a hair under $8800 (no insurance or transfers). No Cat. 2's availible... but our family of 5 could get a Cat 3 for 11 something. I think we will stick with the 2 cat 6's!! :cool1:
I have until the 12th... gotta research insurance first and make sure all my ducks are in a row.... I have tried finding a better deal for a 7 day cruise during school break, and I have come up empty, and 2 stops at CC...... very hard to resist!!
Soooooooooo....
We are....
Me, Laura (40 something mother of 3, travel planner, and in charge of arriving to and leaving from our destination goes smoothly, esp for DH)

DD, 7 at time of cruise... approaching her 6th birthday May 3rd artist
DD, 5 atoc.... wishes her birthday was next month.... talker
DS, 3 atoc... AKA stinkerboy.... turns 2 May 2nd.... stinker

We live in Dixfield, Maine which is about an hour and a half from Portland or 5 1/2 from Springfield Mass. I would most likely not go to a Dis Meet due to the fact that DH works most weekends. Thought I would chime in though.
Also, I have mixed feeling today. We bought a truck for DH (his first one) BUT we used a hunk of change from our savings for the cruise itself. I am so happy for Tim as he had been driving a hunk of junk so I could have the better vehicle for the further drive. He has waited a LONG time for "his truck" but boy I miss the $$$ we used from the cruise fund for a nice down payment.
I know, I know, some one :badpc: hit me up beside the head!! We have well over a year to make it up.

Welcome Laura and Family--older folks here(LOL!!!), 51(me) and 52(DW) by August 2006, traveling with our DD who will be turning 16 just after the August 2006 cruise. Since the Magic is on the west coast this summer, we decided to take a week and go back and visit Fort Wilderness at WDW, and stay in one of the cabins, using our DVC points. If memory serves me right, the last time we stayed at FW, our DD was two years old, I can't believe it's been that long already. Boy, someone must be getting old, I'm sure glad it isn't me, LOL!!!

Hello My Friends
I am sorry I have been absent for so long, but work is just so busy at the moment, and I have been travelling all around the country.
Had a very pleasent day today watching the Royal Wedding, I am a big fan of the royals, and I do understand that Camilla is not everybodys cup of tea, but I for one wish them all the very best, as the way I look at it, life is to short to be unhappy and without the ones you love. If their children are happy with it, to me that's all that matters. I thought she looked lovley and it was all tastefully done.
Terry: How I wish Sun 24th would be good for me, but wow, what a journey I would have to make, :rotfl: never mind, dont forget to take loads of photos for me.
Lyn: Hi How are you, hope you are well.
Laura and Family: Welcome abaord, it's great to have another family join us,I am afraid my daughter will be 16 on the cruise, but I am sure there will be plenty of little ones.
Mary: Hi there, hope the weather is good and you are well. You will soon make up those savings I'm sure.
Barb: Well done on paying off your car, keep up the services on hubbys to make sure it lasts before the cruise lol.
Andy: How are you my friend, this August is getting ever closer, apart from our Trails end are you doing any other PS while your there.Cant believe how much the cruise has gone up already and we are still over a year out.
Ed; Hi There  Hope things with you are good, what's your weather like at the moment.
Tina: So glad you had such a good time in Vagas. The photos are fantastic, I will PM you soon for a little chat.
Doreen: Happy Birthday to Jackie, sweet 16, I hope the party went well and that you are feeling a lot better. My Vicki will be sweet 16 on the cruise.
Darlene: Hi There, how are you, How is Stan holding out. Best wishes to you all.
Ginny, Mary Rose, Diane, Karen, Bobby, Cindy,Bev, Linda and anybody else I forgot to mention Hello There
I am so sorry if I have missed any birthdays or special events while I have been absent, but Happy Birthday to those I missed, Welcome Aboard to any newbies, and I have made a promise to myself to have at least 3 nights a week on here catching up.

I am thinking about adding a couple of days At WDW before the August cruise... DH might be tapped out of vacation time, so I am trying to figure out how many days can I handle the kids at WDW alone... Hi everyone
What a great day :sunny: it is today. Got up early and decided to go out to eat for breakfast so we drove 1 1/2 hours to Shady Maple Smorgasbord near Lancaster. I love it there - the food and the ride. It was great having the whole family go. My kids don't always want to go and today was the first time my mom went out since she fell last month. I started the Atkins diet about 2 weeks ago, (was going to start before Halloween) and I finally lost a few pounds. Probably put it back on today. LOL
Laura - welcome to this fun group.
Tina - great pictures. Thanks for sharing
Terry - I forgot 4/24 is Passover and we are having a big family dinner here. I'd rather be with my DIS friends so do you know what time the brunch would be. I'll probably come with DD Lindsay.

Welcome Laurabearz! :) Glad to have you aboard! :boat: :sunny:
It was a GORGEOUS day here today! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: We've been on the go since early this morning, starting with taking both vehicles for their every-three thousand miles-service, out to breakfast, got the kids started on yard work while John and I went to Home Depot and loaded 144 20-pound decorative bricks into the back of our truck, then came home and along with the boys, we UNLOADED the 144 20-pound bricks...then finished the yard work including raking out the flower beds, and mowing. *whew* I just woke up from a little cat nap on the couch! :faint:
So far this is who I think can come to the NJ meet, please let me know if you want your name added to the list:
Me (Terry)
Lyn
Bev, DD Lindsay
Anyone else? Lyn, is your DH or DS coming too? John won't be with me, it'll only be me, because he doesn't have the vacation time to take that week off. Robby will be in NJ but with his dad, and Craig will be home in MA with John, and going to work.
Sue, I don't think you have any excuse not to come to the meet in New Jersey! :teleport: Teleport yourself over :earboy2: P.S. I'm still not over Diana's death, what a tragedy :( I don't give much thought to Charles or Camilla, but I hope they will both finally be happy, and more importantly, William and Harry. :)
Tina: No date set yet for the New England meet. How about we start with a month, and then all of us can narrow it down to the best day. The first Saturday in May and the first Saturday in June aren't good for us, but so far every other weekend in those months would be fine. Anyone want to pick a month?? :teeth: And thanks so much for sharing those pics, they are breathtaking! What an experience you must've had! :)
Barb: I am totally open to suggestions for the New England meet! :) Once we find out who wants to go, we can see where we all live and try and pick someplace that all of us would be able to get to, whether it be MA or wherever :)
Bev: My father goes to Shady Maple, but I've never been there. I really want to go there some day! :) It really was perfect weather today, wasn't it. We were definitely due for it :sunny:

Tina have you ever been there?? it was FANTASTIC!! they catered to JACLYN and here friends so well.. They had their own pvt area and my family and I were a few booths down from them.. The waiters and wait staff couldn't have been better.. BIAGGI's RESTAURANTE Rocks.. :bounce:
She plans on getting her driving permit on THURSDAY when her actual BIRTHDAY is..
I am not sure if there is enough hair color in the state to help me cover the gray hair she will give me.. :rotfl:

What is the name of the town other than SAYREVILLE??? I know its RT 9 in NJ.. but how else can she find it with AAA??? If she come.. it would be me MARTY, Jaclyn, Karen and she is bringing DANIEL home to us.. if she doesnt come.. then we wont be there either since we will have to go down to VIRGINIA and get DANIEL...
Doreen, here is the actual mailing address for Peter Pank Diner:
PETER PANK DINER
967 US HIGHWAY 9
SOUTH AMBOY, NJ 08879
732-721-2850
I just did a search on the internet and MOST of the websites have the WRONG area code and the wrong address for the diner. The above phone # and address are correct, I even just called the diner itself to verify :) The town IS Sayreville, but they apparently have a South Amboy address, which is not uncommon for that part of Sayreville.
I would *LOVE* to see Karen! When we travel from MA to VA, we use NJ as a half-way point! Maybe you guys can meet in NJ and for the Daniel Exchange :teeth:

Just did a little check on the DCL website. I saw our category 9 cabin price (for the three of us) has increased by $1200.00 since January, it sure pays to book as early as possible with DCL!!! I still saw quite a few cabin selections available for the Cruisin' Castaways 2006 Cruise.
Andy,
We booked a lot later than you and our cat 6 has already gone up $607.00
Terry Not sure how early June is gonna shape out yet,
We are trying to plan an early Bday party for Caitlin for the First or 2nd Saturday in June. Having a problem trying to get a place she will like,( A very picky 8 yo LOL. So it begins. ah where did my princess go :sad2: :confused3
Tina,
Thanks for sharing the photos.
I visited the Grand Canyon back in 1992. Thanks for bring back some of my memorys for that trip :cool1:
Sue,
The weather here is Sunny :sunny: and in the upper 50's
I think spring has arrived :jumping1:
My new car is a dream to drive, and it has a sun roof too . Been using the sun roof on the drive to and from work.
Mary, I too had to use some of cruise payment, but I have plenty of time to make it up. I so needed this car, I feel so great driving it. Driving is fun again.

Arrived home from the birthday party a few minutes ago. We had a very nice time, it was colder down near the shore than it was up here, but it was still quite :sunny: . When we went to leave tonight to come home, I had to "RUN" to the car, get it started, and turn the heater on "FULL BLAST!!!"
Terry--I might be flying down to Florida for the weekend of April 23 & 24, as a 50th Birthday present to myself, so we probably wouldn't be able to make the NJ meet.
It's been a very long day, I've been up since 3:45am and I still have a few more messages to check, so I'm signing off for now.

Laura -- looks as if our kids are the same age - and/or will be the same age on the cruise! DD just turned 6 last week and DS turns 2 next week, so they'll all be in the same brackets. How is your DD with a computer? We ought to get the girls hooked up on e-mail or with pix or something......of course, I'm sure the idea of waiting 16 or 17 months for something will be inconceivable to them?!

Awesome! Maybe we should wait a couple months/year to introduce them! :wave2: BTW DD is quite good with the computer.
