Congrats to everyone who hit a milestone!

Count us in for the mini-meet turned big on the 26th at MNSSHP!!

Ok to answer Cindy's GTTYFK question.......I would like anything where you come in contact with people. I'm a people person or social butterfly so that's what I would like.

I couldn't believe I had to read 7 pages to get caught up! And the cruise is still 6 months away! Yikes! :scared1:

I know I missing some things that I wanted to comment on but my brain is fried.

Oh and Jeff I had no idea what you were talking about with that poker stuff. I bet you watch all those poker showdown things on tv too. I don't get how anyone can watch it on tv either :confused3 it's about as bad as golf (can you tell I'm not big on either)

Chris went with me to my 10 yr reunion. And, I know that he had a better time than I did. He was introducing himself to everyone, as if he went to school with us. It was quite hysterical!!

OMG, Gary did the same thing as Chris! One of my friends DH & Gary both got into the class picture. The class president turned to Gary and said "who are you". He looked at her, smiled and saild "look at the camera". :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: She's probably still trying to match him up to the yearbook pictures. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

David, David, David. What on earth have you been drinking? :drinking:

It's Mary & Mark. Not Bob & Mary. :teeth:

Do you have friends Mark & Bob and that's why you are having such a mental block on this one? :rotfl:Hmmm, I'm wondering what David's been drinkin' too? :drinking1All I can think of is David's mixing them up with MY friends Mary & Bob out in CA. He's only met them a couple of times so I can't imagine...

Never went to any of my HS reunions. I had no intention of going to my 10th, though the few days before I had my own reunion with the only person I really cared to see - girl from Japan that was in my class for junior and senior year. She came in a few days early so we could spend time together. I didn't even hear about the 20th until after the fact when a cousin of mine asked why I wasn't there. No clue if they're planning a 25th or not, but don't really care. Most of my friends in high school went to other schools in the area or lived in other cities/states.

Mary, I will look for your brothers :firefight today!

Maybe they will be a Mortons steakhouse tonight :cool1:

Good morning everyone! I've never been to any of my High School reunions. My class was 1200 strong and I think only about 200 or so go to the reunions. I do still keep in contact with a few close friends from High School including one group of girls that gets together every fall for a lunch and a house tour (the local infant welfare socitey picks a different house each year to decorate and then charges people to tour them). I do always buy the reunion booklet and enjoy reading what people are up to. I did go to my 25th Grammer School reunion and that was fun. Much smaller group.

Yeah it is a huge school. We were supposed to have an outdoor graduation but it started to rain 10 minutes before we were due to walk out (and with all the guest already in place). So they broke us up into 3 groups. My group got stuck graduating in the cafeteria. :lmao: Another group in the field house and yet another in the auditorium.

My 20th Grammar School reunion will be next year. I'd like to go to my 25th, even though I haven't kept in touch with any of them. We were a class of 14, so we were a tight knit group, we just lost touch over the years (that was before the internet, when the dinosaurs roamed the earth). One girl from my class did get in touch with me through Classmates a few years back, but we managed to lose touch again. Oh--and I did see a girl from my class on the Wheel of Fortune about 10 years ago too. :lmao:

I never even went to my graduation. :sad2: Do I regret it, maybe? :confused3

I finished in January the year of graduation. So, while my friends were still going to school, I was already working full time. The thought of going back 5 months later for the ceremony seemed strange at the time, so I headed up to Wisconsin with other friends instead. We had a graduation of our own up there ;) definately celebrating the occassion. :drinking1 At the time, the legal drinking age was 18 in Wisconsin, still 21 in IL and I had recently turned 18. :teeth: We had the perfect place as I owned some property that my Dad nicely put a trailer on. I'm sure my parents suspected why we went up to Wisconsin, but they never said anything. Although my Mom later did say that she never approved of my Dad's idea of having a trailer on there. I have learned from my parents mistake and hope to never give my boys the same opprotunity. :rolleyes1

Everything changed for me when my Dad died in June. All my plans of going to college went down the drain. It was such a devistating change in my life, that the idea of leaving for school was terrifying. So, instead of going to a local junior college, I continued to work full time. That I do regret. :guilty:

Last summer, I went out to dinner with two friends from my days of growing up. It was really strange. We hadn't seen each other since the one who lives in Massachusettes got married a month before Gary & I did. We went out there for her wedding and she basically ignored us the entire time. Okay, she was a little busy with her wedding plans, but the two couples ended up like the fifth wheel. It was really odd and we all walked away from it wondering why we were there. :confused3

It was nice to reminise but for me, once in 16 years was enough. I do know my friend from MA has traveled back to the Chicago ago several times and gotten together with the other friend. I've always been busy and not able to join them, which worked out well for me as I found I'd prefer to keep the memories I had rather than make new ones.

Gary does work with one of my best friends from high school. When he first started there, he mentioned her name and I just about died. She's the sister of the guy I dated for 3 of my high school years. I met up with her and her brother at a company picnic one summer. It was really strange to talk to my old boyfriend with my kids there not to mention Gary. Cameron said to him "who are you?" -- he said, an old friend of your mom's. :) It was awkward and fortunately, we only had that happen once.

We ended up moving around a lot when I was a child, so I went to a bunch of different elementary schools, and 2 different high schools. I was probably more well known at my first HS, since I was in cheerleading and other activities. But, when we moved AGAIN, I was devastated and never really recovered. I made one REALLY good friend in my 2nd HS and we've stayed in touch all these years. She still lives in the Chicago area, and I visit with her every time I go up there. Actually, we were both pregnant at the same time and due only one day apart. It ended up that I had Madison on the 28th and she had her DD on the 30th. (Which reminds me that I need to get a gift for Sophia in the mail TODAY)

Anyway, I keep in touch with my sorority sisters from college much more than anyone else. Those that still live in central FL try to get together about once a year to see each other, and all those kids. Next year is our sorority's 50th reunion of being at our college, so we're hoping that a lot that have moved out of state are coming back.

All 3 of my kids had outside graduations. There held on the football field with family and guests in the bleachers. It was really strange to me since in Michigan we always had our graduations downtown. Been so long can't remember the name of the place. At my daughters graduation ceremony it poured before the ceremony and during it. They still carried on the ceremony outside. What a mess. The poor graduates came onto the football field and had chairs set up to sit on but the chairs were very wet from the rain and the poor graduates on to sit in the water the entire time. Of course there were umbrellas being held by the guests in the stands and the lady in front of me would periodically tip her umbrella back and all the water would run off it unto me. What a fun evening. I think it was starting to thunder at the end of my youngest son's graduation so they got us off the field pretty quick. Oh the memories...

I still remember my HS graduation. The ceremony was always held outside on the football field, with the gym as a back up in case of rain. The night of my graduation, at the last minute, they moved the ceremony into the gym because rain was being forecast. There was no AC in the gym, and everyone was burning up, especially those of us sitting on the gym floor in our caps and gowns! When we walked out of the gym, you could see stars in the sky and there was no rain in sight! :confused3

Fast forward 20 years to my DD's graduation from the same school. The gym is now air conditioned, and all graduation ceremonies are held there, rain or shine.

:rotfl2: Carol - are you sure you were not at my college graduation? It rained as we were walking in to pomp and so we stopped and hid under trees while my family quickly put their ponchos (or you can call them garbage bags cause that's what they were) on to sit in the stands. In the video you can see all the graduates trying to dump the rain off of our chairs - all very amusing. Luckily my hair didn't get messed up as that lovely cap we were wearing sheilded me!

Just a quick update on what's up in our world

We are scheduled to head out of town this weekend to Vegas for a work party. While there we get to attend the Sting concert and go to a private party where Kid Rock is going to DJ - I'm excited.

We do plan to go, however, my dad has been hospitalized since Tuesday and it seems he'll be there till Sunday. He had a test/biopsy on Monday and it seems 5% of the people who have that test develop an infection - he's one of the lucky 5%. The results of his blood workup will be back tonight, tomorrow they start agressively treating the infection and then Sunday he goes home with major meds for 2 - 3 weeks. Mom flew to FLA to pick up Grandma for her trip home (snowbird) on Tuesday while he was in the ER (she didn't know) and she returns today. It's so hard to live far away!

Cindy - Thanks for starting a thread for me! I've never had my very own thread before! :goodvibes Your comment about me not being "the quiet one" was funny. Curt and I usually take turns with the task. He's actually much more friendly than I, striking-up conversations with anyone at anytime. I'm kinda moody, so I have my moments here and there. :rolleyes2

I finally got around to adding my thoughts to Mary's and Julie's threads...

I would want to work at AK, somehow working with the animals. I love and respect animals, so I would be in heaven working with them everyday. :cloud9: Equally as important - NO guest interaction! That's pretty much what happened to me. My graduation was scheduled to be outside on a terrace on the grounds of my school. We were all lined up ready to, the parents/families were all sitting outside and then all of a sudden someone must have felt one drop of rain and the whole ceremony was delayed while they moved into the gym. It never rained. It probably drizzled at most. All I remember is how intensely hot it was in that gym. And we were required to wear dresses with pantyhose under our caps and gowns so we were miserable.

I bet more people than that. My group includes three (myself, DH and DD)

I was just counting the people without assuming extende family, since I don't have the privilege of knowing all of you as well as you guys that traveled together on the previous cruises. I guess if I wasn't so lazy, I could check Mark's site to reconcile the people I wasn't counting.

Not having to be concerned with cost and time off of work, what would be your dream Disney vacation? Where to? For how long? Where would you stay? What would you do?

If time, money, and points were no object I think my dream Disney vacation would start with road trip to Hilton Head for 3-4 days. Then down to WDW for a week in a Boardwalk view one bedroom. We'd then head over to the port to start a two week back-to-back cruise on DCL (Western then Eastern). I'd end it with a week in a beach cottage at Vero that we could share with friends and just relax before heading home again.

Mine would be a month at Hilton Head in one of the milder months. I love it there in July, but the humidity is a killer. So, whatever month that would be. Then we'd head down to WDW for another month at SSR. We'd do the parks some but kick back, relax, let the kids swim as much as they wanted. I'm going to copy Mary's idea with a cruise following that. Maybe a 7 or 10 day so we have more time to relax. I'd cap that off with another week or so at WDW.

By that time, we'd be like jello after so much relaxation and unable to function in the real world again. :teeth: But, hey, life would be rough. :teeth:

Good question! We'd spend a week at BCV in a 1-BR villa then move to the east coast where we would board the Wonder and head out for the 11-night cruise to the Southern Caribbean. We have never been to most of those places so it would be fun to explore. Then we'd head back for another week at BCV just to relax and unwind. During our stays at WDW we would be able to get every dinner reservation we have ever wanted and the parks would not be crowded so we could walk right on any ride! Oh it's so nice to dream!

Of course, we would need to find a reliable pet sitter for Chicklit but since I'm dreaming I'm sure that could be arranged!

See you in chat tonight! :wave2:

Cindy,

Joe and I were like jello after the 2 week Panama Cruise last year. We had such a great time and were able to actually enjoy the ship and relax. When we got back it was VERY hard to get back into the swing of the real world. Of course in time, you get caught back up in the rat race (no pun intended) and are in need of another cruise. We are really looking forward to the 11 day cruise in September. Another time to just totally relax with the extra at sea days.

I feel an around the world Disney Vacation would be in order.

Starting with 4 days @ DL staying in the GCH Theme park view concierge

10 days @ WDW in a 1 bedroom boardwalk view that you could see the fireworks from the balcony

2 weeks on DCL doing Eastern and Western in a Category 3 at least ;)

Flying for a week to DL Paris
A week @ Disney Land Hong Kong
A week @ Disney Seas

Good morning everyone!! Thanks for the birthday wishes for my little princess. I can't believe that she's 2 already. It seems like just yesterday that I was holding her in my arms and she was SO tiny. I'll have to get a picture of her today in her little birthday dress that my mom made her out of this really adorable Happy Birthday fabric that we found at JoAnn's.

We have a relatively quiet day today, since we're not having Madison's party until next Saturday. Emily is being picked up by one of her friends at school today, and she's having a play date until later this evening. So, it will just be Maddie, Chris and I around here until bedtime.

Then, Emily has her big dance recital tomorrow afternoon. I can't wait, because I'm sure that it's going to be adorable!!!

Then I'd hop a train to DL Paris and spend a few days there before flying off to Japan for a week at Tokyo Disney and then head over to HK to see HK Disneyland for a week. Then on the flight back, we'll just have to stop at DL in CA for a few more days before heading home.

Mary, I totally understand what you are saying. When I drive Cameron someplace (usually baseball) or Walker someplace (usually soccer) it seems like it forces us to communicate better than we do at home. At home, I'll ask how school was and get "good". While driving someplace, I'll get much more information than that with even the same question.

Thanks for pointing out that they are truly special times. As frazzled as parents can be sometimes, it's nice to be reminded just how special our children truly are. ::yes::

I also know that Emily will be precious tomorrow. I'm looking forward to seeing her picture in her cute dance outfit!

Diana, correct me if I'm wrong, but our Dan didn't say much of anything the entire time. Maybe that's because he was much too busy talking on his cell phone and couldn't bother with the rest of us. Whew!!! I have pulled myself out from the piles of clothes from Emily and Madison's rooms that don't fit them. YIKES, I can't believe that we have SO much stuff. I completely took all the drawers out of Madison's room and dumped them on my dining room floor. Then, I unloaded her closet onto the floor too. I have now sorted it all into stuff that fits her now for summer, and Emily's old stuff, then all the piles of stuff that is too small for Maddie by season.

I'm hoping to get all the summer clothes that are 0-18 months up on eBay within the next week or so. I just need to divide them into different lots of items and get rid of them. Most of them are either Baby Gap, Old Navy or Gymboree, so I hope that they sell ok. Oh, and of course, I have some Disney stuff in there too.

Well, now I'm going to start putting the clothes that fit back into Madison's dresser drawers and her closet.

I'm hoping to get to chat tonight. I have to pick Emily up between 8:30-9pm, so I should be back in time to chat.

Well, Emily's recital is today, and now she doesn't want to go. I think that it was just a reaction to waking up a little crabby. Anyway, we have to have an early lunch, then head over to the recital. If possible, they want the girls' hair in big curls, but I'm not so sure that Emily is going to sit still for that. But, I'll give it a try. I figure that I'll put on one of her favorite shows to try to distract her.

But for now, I need to get back to the mountains of kids clothes still on the dining room floor. I was supposed to finish them last night, but I spend the evening chatting with a crazy group of cruisers!!! :rotfl2:

Good morning everyone,

What time did you all end in chat last night? I left shortly after 1130, I think.

My granddaughters recital is May 13. They always make the girls wear their hair pulled back in a bun. This will be her last year with this particular dance teacher since the classes have been at her day care, but she starts kindergarden in the fall so her mom will have to find a new place. Sarah loves ballet. Everytime Einstein's comes on she jumps up and starts dancing across the room.

Amy, good luck on getting the clothes organized. My daughter gave me some to put on ebay. I hate taking pictures of clothes for some reason.

Everyone have a great day. Going to hopefully get the computer room cleaned today. Should have done it last night, but got side tracked :)

I think the reason that they are doing curls is that they are doing "On the Good Ship Lollipop", so I'm guessing it's to be like Shirley Temple. Emily just loves this dance class. It's after school on Tuesdays at her preschool. I love it because I don't have to cart her somewhere, I just pick her up an hour later from school on Tuesdays.

But, I need to get both girls signed up for swimming lessons this summer. Considering that this is FL, and we have a pool in our backyard, the girls don't know how to swim. Emily is very good at swimming around with her floatie swimsuit on, but I'd feel better if she just learns to swim. And, Madison is old enough to start learning how too. I think that parks & recreation have swim lessons, so I'm going to have to give them a call soon, since school is out in just a few weeks.

It sounds like I missed a good chat.

Had I known you were partying late, I would have joined you. After Walker's soccer practice and a quick dinner, I started getting ready for the crop I'm going to today. Naturally, I waited until the last minute to do so. So, I spent the night getting my thoughts together, selecting pictures and printing them all off. Still doing the last of the pictures this morning.

But I have 12 hours of uninterrupted time to work on Amy and Cheryl's circle journals and maybe, with any luck, I'll start on the album for the trip Cameron & I took in October. :thumbsup2

A busy day for Gary with soccer for Walker, Gary being soccer snack Dad, Cameron's 1st baseball game, Cameron going over to a friends house and all the other little things that will come up. Walker was complaining of ear pain last night too -- naturally, because we chose to not have his adnoids taken out last month and now I wonder if that was the wrong choice. So, a trip to the pediatrician may be in the works for them too.

Mary, none of these today :umbrella: hopefully. pixiedust:

Have a great Saturday everyone. :cheer2: :cheer2:

I thought the curls might be because of the theme for their dance. Sarah would be in trouble trying to get curls in her hair. It is long, but fine and the only curls that stay are when her mom uses the sponge rollers.

I sure wish we had a pool. Especially since I don't work full time, I'm sure a pool would get plenty of use. I know the grandkids would love it too, but they would need swimming lessons. Jennifer tried to sign them up last year but the lessons were like at 5pm and she couldn't get home from work and picking up the kids in time. We have a community pool but you have to drive to it and I actually forget it is there, since I don't see it everyday.

Have fun at the recital.

:thumbsup2

WOW, a 12 hour crop. I haven't been to a crop in so long I wouldn't know how to pack up all my stuff. So use to having the crops at my house and having everything I need. No chance of forgetting anything that way. I once had a lady come to my house to crop and she had forgotten her pictures. Thank goodness she didn't live too far and was able to go home and get them. But then you have the problem of getting out of the house again. :) I just got the Mickey album from CM, so maybe that will motivate me to start on some of my Disney pictures. I will definately need more than 1 album though!

Mark tells me he popped into chat after I left - you all had a nice long chat.

Mary my scrapbooking is done on my dining room table too. Of course now that table is full of all our cruise clothes since we sail in 4 weeks!

Cindy - have fun at your crop!

Amy- the curls remind me of the Irish step dancers we see at Irish Fest. They always have those long flowing tight knit curls. Most of them do it with sponge rollers, but I did see one mom carrying a wig of curls. Guess since they have competitions all year it would work. I'm sure Emily will look adorable!

We were in chat late. I want to say when I finally got into bed it was 12:45. It was definitely well after midnight when I left. It was just me, Stacy, Mark, Curt and Karen burning that midnight oil. Jeff and Chris stuck around for a while too.

Amy, the recital sounds adorable. Good luck curling her hair! I've thought about starting Emma in dance in the fall after she turns 3 because like Carols grandaughter, when Little Einsteins comes on, she's June the ballerina and spins and twirls.

Both of my girls have taken swim lessons and Emma is a great swimmer. Julia doesn't know she doesn't know how to swim and won't let me hold her in deep water. So she tries really hard to escape and even goes underwater. Crazy kid. She'll be doing laps by the end of the summer. In the classes Emma takes for 2 year olds, the first thing they teach them is to jump in the pool. :confused3 At first I was like, huh? That's just not safe! But the reasoning behind it is they eventually get the instinct if they fall in the pool to swim right to the side. We have an inground pool, so this is really important to me. I mean, I don't want them to fall in--I just want them to be able to handle it God-forbid they do.

Cindy you are going to have a blast at an all day crop!! I was at one last month and it's such a good time. I never manage to get enough done though, because I'm such a chatter!

Hi all just checking in. I feel like I missed a lot in chat. I can never make it because I have to pick the girls up at gym and I'm never home in time. We have 4 gymnasts that spent the night and we are going to see the new movie Stick It today. About half of the team is going so it should be interesting. I might need a drink by the time I get home. :rotfl2:

Just called and got PS for LTT on the 26 at 4:20 so we will be seeing some of you there. I also got the rest of my ps for our trip. We are going to LeCellier on Friday night. I am so excited because we have never been there. Sat we are going to 50's Prime Time because it was closed last time and the kids love it there and on Sunday we are going to 1900 Park Fair. Should be fun. It is now starting to feel real.

Have a great day.

Okay, my pictures are ready but can you believe I couldn't find an empty Disney Album? I have several around here but I think they got shoved out to the garage and who knowns when they will turn up. :scared: Good thing I was able to get in touch with my CM consultant -- she has an extra she's bringing for me. I would have been highly disappointed if she didn't as I hope to work on one of my albums.

I missed chat again! We were at the neighbors for the evening - got home around midnight. I probably should have checked in, you guys might have still been there.

Deanna use to take ballet, then the teacher said to me after class one day "Maybe you should look for something for Deanna to do that takes a bit more energy.....like soccer" So, she's been playing soccer since then. She loved the mirror in the Dance Studio - she would check out her teeth anytime they were standing by it. For those of you that know John.....Deanna has the same amount of energy! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

DD's school auction was a success!!! :woohoo: People had deep pockets last night (which is good). I will find out how much money we made Tuesday night at our monthly parents meeting. Last year we made $19,000! :goodvibes

Today I get to spend my day taking a Continued Ed. Class up at OHSU. Not the best way to spend a Saturday, but this gets my CE classes finished before I have to re-register in September. I figured I did not want to take any classes this summer so I had better get it over with.

I am so glad many of you purchased your MNSSHP tickets! Kinda nice to beat the crowds! :woohoo:

I will check back in later today! Everyone enjoy the sunshine (if you have any).

I saw on one of the other boards (parks board maybe, I don't remember) that people are calling back and getting different CMs who are still selling them. They suggested to call Central Ticketing directly. The number is 407-566-4985.

I was a little late joining the fun, first I had to go shopping and out to eat with Diana! Then I had to go pick up Nick from his friends house and I stayed and chatted with my girlfriend for a couple of hours. I'm so glad I checked to see if anyone was still in chat when I got home.

Thanks to a little birdy who called and talked to DH last night we have our MNSSHP tickets for the 26th!!

Jeff had a civil service exam to take this morning so I got the food shopping down while he was out. Now I'm just taking a break from house chores.
I can't wait till 4pm cause my parents are taking us out for dinner for my birthday/our anniversay.

I got Cindy's CJ from Diana last night (it looks awesome by the way). And will try to work on it tomorrow when I got to friends house to crop. In 2 weeks I'm doing anoth all day crop that goes from 8:30am - 6pm, can't wait. I'm hoping to get a bunch of pages done that day!

Roxann,

If there is a program I am signing my sister Gail up for it. We are going on the 11 day cruise together and she has already assigned homework for getting excursion information (and it is due Monday) and we still have our trip to Disneyland before that cruise. Oh well, I think by doing the overplanning it really keeps you excited about the trip. So keep on keepin on the overplanning.

Did you see the thread about the husband who told his wife that as of 4 weeks before their cruise she wasn't allowed to talk about the cruise or WDW. He don't know how long that 4 weeks can really be!!!!!

But, I might have to buy tickets next week. ;) I don't want to be the one standing outside the gates crying and stomping my feet when they escort us out of the park. :sad2:

I'm back from my all day crop and exhausted. I finished Cheryl & Amy's circle journals. :thumbsup2

Amy, I'll tell you now, I'm not happy with the letters on my page. I had to scrunch two letters together and it didn't look perfect to me. But, since I stuck them on with my xyron and it wasn't removable glue, I had to leave them. :sad2: Who has a trick for using the sizzix letters and making them fit right? The lady I sat with told me instead of working from the outside in, to work from the inside out. So, if I was using the letters to write "DIS Boards" to start with the "o" and then work my way out doing the "B" & "a" next. Is that how all the veterans do it or is there another trick from the pros?

I even had enough time to do several pages of the album I started of mine & Cameron's trip. Now if I can do any more pages between now and the next 5 years, I'll be in businessl. :cheer2:

I'm glad that you had a great time at your crop, Cindy! And, I wouldn't worry about it.

I do have a tip about putting letters on. Always keep some waxed paper in your crop bag. Then, you can stick the letters on the waxed paper however you want. Then, position it over the page that you want the letters on, and slowly roll the waxed paper down behind the letters and they will adhere to the page, exactly how you put them down on the waxed paper. I learned that tip at my first CKU, and it has always helped me. We did it with just letter stickers, but it would work for xyron'd letters too.

Sounds like you had a fun crop! I think I'm getting roped into going to an all day one next Saturday. The problem is we have circus tickets for 11 and the crop starts at 1. So I'll be getting up at 7, going to class from 8-9 coming home, leaving by 10 to go to the circus. Enjoying the circus, which I read is 2 1/2 hours and then getting home and going right to the crop which doesn't end until 10pm. I've never been one who could "Just Say No" so I'll probably be running myself ragged that day.

As for the letters, I'm still tired, so I'm not sure if this is how your lady told you to do it but I start in the Center and then go left/right left/right working my way out. So if I was going to spell Diana I'd put an A in the dead center, then I'd do an I to the left, then and N to the right, a D to the left and an A to the right. It's always worked for me, but I also tend to use repositional adhesives, but the wax paper thing sounds awesome Amy!

I'm with Diana, I use repositionable a lot, but when I'm using the permanent ones, I use the waxed paper trick. And, the great part about it is that since it's somewhat transparent, you can see if it's going to look right on your page, before you stick it down.

It's a beautiful day here, but we're not doing anything special. Chris is going to try to finish up painting the eaves on the house. Then, we need to work on the front door casing and we'll be done with painting the house. I'm still working on the inside, trying to get organized and get ready for Madison's party next Saturday. We decided to skip church this morning, since both girls have runny noses (we certainly don't want to get anyone else sick). So, we'll have all day to get things done around here.

I can't wait to go on the cruise but have to figure out some costumes for MNSSHP. Put me in the over planners group too but . . .

21 days til we're at BCV and believe it or not I haven't planned anything for this trip. Since Tom is still recouperating from surgery I didn't want to stress him out or make him do more than he is physically capable to do. Depending upon how he is feeling over the next 3 weeks will determine how much we do. At this point, he'll be happy just being away!

My best friend called last night and she has decided she and her two teen sons will meet us for dinner on Wednesday night. I suggested Cape May Cafe but her boys don't eat seafood. I would prefer not to go any place that's going to be too noisy either. Any suggestions from my DIS friends? There will be eight or nine (if her BF comes with her).

Well, I've got to go grocery shopping. See you in chat tonight! Annmarie

Yes, Diana, this is exactly what she was suggesting I do in the future. When I need to buy new adhesive for my xyron, I will definately buy the repositional type but I'm still using the one that originally came with the unit.

I don't know if all crops are like this, but they had the CM products for sale but then they had a ton of sizzix, cutters, cutting tools. It was really neat and I could see saving a whole lot of money by continuing to go to them. That way, when I want one die cut, I don't have to buy it -- I can just use it at a crop. I had no idea they would provide tools to use. :thumbsup2

This CM consultant also does 2 weekends at Lake Geneva every year. The next one is in October and I'm a little busy that weekend ;) so I won't be going, but maybe next February. :cool1:

My best friend called last night and she has decided she and her two teen sons will meet us for dinner on Wednesday night. I suggested Cape May Cafe but her boys don't eat seafood. I would prefer not to go any place that's going to be too noisy either. Any suggestions from my DIS friends? There will be eight or nine (if her BF comes with her).

I don't eat any seafood at all, but I still love CMC and always find something I like. I'm a super picky eater too.

I just got off the phone with Disney and they're telling me that the Halloween party tickets were sold in error, and that they aren't allowed to sell anymore. I'm so bummed. They also weren't able to tell when they'd be available.

They must have informed youincorrectly. I just bought mine (thanks for the early warning, guys) and at the same time made PS for LTT on Thursday and Marrakesh on the 27th.

It's small enough to fit in my basement and we have a pool table. I'd say the outside dimensions are maybe 10ft x 10ft? It's about as tall as I am so less than 6 ft high. It inflates in under a minute and deflates and folds into a duffel bag. I got it on clearance at ToysrUs for $149. It's worth it for me just because I don't have to pay $20 for the day to get them into the bouncy places here.

Very cute -- but somehow I don't think my boys would be thrilled to jump in there!

We put it up for a couple of days and then take it down to give the grass a chance to recover. I usually put it in a different spot so it's not always on the same patch of grass. And, it always comes down weekly because the lawn mower and weed wacker would be detrimental to it's use.

Welcome back Steve. I know when Joe comes back from conferences/conventions it takes forever to go through all the "stuff" he comes back with. Unpacking the clothes is the easy part - just dump them all in the clothes hamper.

Well, need to get back to my scrap room. I seem to just keep moving things around. Guess it would help if I would just get those pictures into albums. Cindy, when I did crops I use to put out my tools for the customers to use. Of course, it helped them so they didn't have to buy everything until they got a chance to try things and see if it would be a worthwhile purchase. Me on the other hand am one of those people who has to have everything and now!

Diana, you have no idea.

Right now, I can count in my yard and on my deck:

7 cozy coupes. The fire truck, pickup truck, police car, green camper, original, newer original and the green mini van
Three wheelbarrels
5 blue trikes -- not including the 6 red ones stored in the shed
3 scooters
6 Slides of various sizes - a castle, the 8-1, the little toddler size, the step2 treehouse, the fisher price tree house, the one attached to the playset/monkey bars
3 basketball hoops
3 shopping carts
1 playhouse
2 sandboxes
1 ball pit
2 grills
2 picnic tables
several little push toys
4 rocking horses

Sorry to bounce this discussion to another topic, but I h ave a few quick questions about MNSHHP, now that I read Deb's site. We always like to take a late lunch reservation to take advantage of lunch prices at the parks and I made a PS for LTT the day of MNSHHP. Deb's site happens to mention LTT as a good place to eat before the party, but if we eat there lunchtime is that too soon or is dinner different? Also, does the party work like the E-Ride nights? In other words, if we're already in the park, do we go to CIty Hall and turn in our tickets for bracelets or something like that?

I think that the biggest difference is that the characters that are all dressed up for the party are not their for lunch, only dinner (I think). Our plan is go to go LTT early (around 4:30pm) for dinner. Anyway, when we did that last time, the actually came around to us at dinner and asked if we had tickets to the party. We showed our tickets and they gave us our wristbands right in LTT. I hope that helps.

I don't know what LTT lunch schedule is, but I think dinner starts at 4.

When we've been in the past, as we entered the park late in the day if we had tickets to the Halloween or Christmas Party, they have given us wristbands as we entered. They had stations around the park where you could pick them up also.

We have ADR's for LTT @ 4:30 pm. We figured we would eat a big breakfast on the ship and have a Linner @ LTT. I believe you are right about turning in your tickets and I believe you get a braclet to wear indicating you are staying for MNSSHP.

Chicken & dumplings -- that sounds good to me. We actually had a very early dinner. Gary made a ham when he came home with Cameron from his early Sunday morning baseball training. Walker helped him make the sides and the kitchen is already cleaned up. :thumbsup2 I remember on Sunday's as a kid we would always go out to dinner early in the day.

Good thing -- as Gary is at work now. His pager was going off repeatedly with one problem after another. Must be the rain today which is sending everyone into the malls/retail stores to use their credit cards. Looks like their processing system is getting a workout. :rolleyes1

Ironically this is the oncall he took from the man who so graciously took Gary's when we went to WDW last month.

If I get the chance I will definately ask him if he'll be cruising with us in October. Wouldn't that be awesome!
Yippee!!! That's awesome, Mary!! And, we noticed that since it wasn't a "special" cruise (even though ours was Valentine's and yours is the 1st double dip), that there were less people in the presentation, so we ended up winning 2 of his sketches. I think that the true Disney fanatics really know who Ducky is, but a lot of people don't.

Nope, no litho! But, hopefully you will get once, since you're on the 1st Double Dip cruise. We were just excited to get 2 sketches, and I got to talk to him for about 10-15 minutes while he was waiting for someone. Plus, we got a picture with him and his whole group in pirate attire. We were pretty much the only ones that dressed up, but we had fun.

Mary that is so cool about Ducky being on your cruise. Could you please try and check to see if he will be on the 11 day? I think someone mentioned he was going on either the 10 or the 11 day (was that you Amy?).

I loved his presentations and of course the sketch that John won!

I think that he said that he was on the 10-night. I'm sure that Mary can check for you, but I thought it was the 10, not the 11.

Hi Everyone! Well I missed a lot but had a lot of fun!
Stayed at the dolphin, met our friends and their dd6 at the Pin station and off we went. For those of you with children I'll be giving a list of childrens events.

Madhatter's tea party: we got there around 10am Madhatter and Alice were both there.
Then we headed off to character connection and then up to Tinkerbelle's garden. Just about when we were about to leave, Peter pan and Wendy came out, they told stories and played hide and seek and then took photos.
We stopped at the Toy shop in the UK at 2pm and saw Mary Poppins and Pooh characters.
Then off to the home depot play area, we saw Goofy and then they had tomatoes you can plant and they had someone making ballon animals.
(This line is long. )
Then Chip and Dale came out, these "guys" were great, not just standing there but playing with the kids, Dale was sliding on the slide, and Chip was doing slide traffic control.
We then headed for dinner but there were tons of characters out,
Gepetto and cast in Italy, Timon and Rafiki by the refreshment outpost, and Snow White was supposed to be coming out in Germany.
Then off to Princess Dinner in Norway, it was great to try this dinner but its nothing to rush back to. Although our service was excellent.

Well I hope this was not too long

Sorry Roxann - there's no 12 step program. The only thing that controls the over planning is planning another trip. Notice I said control instead of cure - that's because there is no cure! :teeth:

Overplanners Unite! :thumbsup2

My sentiments exactly!!! I know that Cindy said that DVC "cured" her of her over planning, but it's actually made mine even worse! It's a scary thing, knowing that I have guaranteed vacations through 2052... :rolleyes1

Forget that, I just realized that the dinner is family style and all meat (yeah, I know there's mac and cheese). I guess we'll have to stick with lunch and miss the character experience.

Sandy - Are you a vegetarian? I've been one for 22 years... We're eating at LTT on the 26th with good friends of ours, so I guess I'll need to contact the restaurant and see what's up. My experience has been that the chefs and staff in general will bend over backwards for you to get you something that you'll enjoy. When I find something out, I'll let you know. :thumbsup2

I'm just sitting here waiting patiently for the pediatrician to call me back. We pulled a tick out of Julia's leg last night and while she's totally fine this morning, I need to find out where to send this sucker (pun intended) for analysis. He's got about 10 more minutes and then I'm off to the gym. :yay:

But unfortunately tis the season. Mom & Dad pulled a tick off the cat last week so she won't be going outside for a while no matter how mush she complains.

Even if it's a fixed menu like LTT dinner? My wife and I keep a kosher home and eat vegetarian out. I know most restaurants are accomodating, but I wasn't sure about the fixed menu type dinner.

(Once when eating at Cape May, the veggies had meat in them. The chef offered to make us a plate of plain string beans. Well, when it was brought out, it was more like a platter than a plate!)

Here's hoping you received your return phone call and dropped your friend off where it needed to go. The one tick Cameron had in his ear many years ago freaked me out so much that I just got it off and then dropped it on the floor. So, then I was trying to find it -- I never did. Cameron was fine -- use a lot of alcohol on the site where it attached to Julia.

Let us know what happens. :goodvibes

DD is vegetarian and is going to the Hoop De Doo Revue with her grandparents on Friday. She called and asked them if they could do a vegetarian option and they offered her either a steamed veggie plate with rice or a no meat pasta dish.

This is what the Chef's ususally whip up - Karen always goes for the Pasta. In fact I think we were eating at Cape May and the Chef himself came out & discussed her dietiary needs and created one of Karen's favorite dishes. Actually one of our many magical moments (this happened on a day when bad news followed us to Florida.)

Hey everyone! We are back from our whirlwind trip to Vegas and seeing how the "other side" lives. I hope to post photos later this week but let's just say it was classy all the way and the hotel (the Wynn) was unbelievable and our rooms were way out of our price range (thanks boss). Sting was super, we had floor seats! I had my photo with MC Hammer and danced the night away.

You guys were chatty - 10 page to catch up but they were good pages.

Diana/Amy - love the new photos of the kiddos, to cute!
Curt - love the new photo of you and Karen!

LTT / MNSSHP - love this combo and we are going the 31st with 6 pm LTT ressies. I called this morning without problem and got right through. We may do LTT in July before spectro/wishes and I was hoping someone would know the answer to this - my sister is allergic to pork and does not eat turkey, do you think the chef might do something on the side for her? She can prob eat the mac and cheese and sides, but I don't want her to be hungry.

OH EXCITING - our waitlist for July in a 2 bedroom dedicated at BCV finally came through for the last night - this is our planning trip for the wedding so I am beyond thrilled! I love the auto waitlist and the website updated right away. Now I need to reconcile those points - urgh.

Here is a link to the current menus at LTT. When you call to make an ADR tekk them you have a food allergy and they will give you a direct phone number to the chef (or you can PM me for it...) Robin doesn't eat any Pork, and I am allergic to Cilantro (& Corriander). THey will make up a plate for each of us, but you should make sure it is in your ADR.

He said he'd point out which dishes David couldn't eat from the buffet. But after going past the first two stations where the only dish that didn't have any corriander in it was the fried chicken on the kids station, the chef said he'd make up something special. We totally thought it would be something small and boring, but first David was served a selection of FOUR soups. Then the chef personally brought out David's main course. There was so much food there that it could have fed all of us at the table.

They'll even be able to tell me how long it was on her. :confused3 I know it's wasn't more than 4 hours because I changed her diaper after her nap and it wasn't there then.
