Good morning Member Cruisers
- we sail in 44 weeks!
joksten2000

Why not make member cruise a seven day affair. Now that air fares are so high it seems a waste to pay a $1,000 to fly for a 4 day cruise! We paid $963. (2 of us)to fly down for the Easter week cruise.

Thanks for the heads up Mary on the site update - it's awesome (although a bit confusing right now till I get into it and reconcile to my spreadsheet).
We are tv watchers here too, course we don't have kids yet. We rarely watch anything real time (thank goodness for TIVO)
Both Matt and I watch
NCIS
E Ring
Commander in Chief
24 - can't wait!
Survivor (when it's not up against Alias)
I also watch
West Wing - and John's death is going to impact the show as he's a big part in the story line right now
Alias
ER (not all the time)
Have a great Sunday!
Just headed over the the DVC site this afternoon. Looks like I have a call to make to MS tomorrow. It looks like we used 410 points last summer at Hilton Head for the Saturday night we stayed extra. I know we didn't, we paid cash. Besides, a 2 bedroom for a Saturday night is 99 points, not 410 points. Yep, that's 99 points just for a Saturday night there. :earseek:
Maybe, just maybe, they really deducted those points our of our account. After all, we couldn't possibly have used all the points we own, could we? That must be it......MS has been wrong all this time and we've never really used all our points. I knew it wasn't possible.
Somehow, I doubt it and know this is truly an error in their accounting. But for right now, I'm going to assume they did. :teeth: That would be one nice Christmas gift. :teeth: Tomorrow when it's all straightened out, I'll feel like this.....

Any time, Amy. I'm glad I was there and it worked out the way it did. Even if it was the three of us. ;)

OMG, :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:  :jumping1: :jumping1: That is just amazing!!!
I've been wrapping and buying gifts all day. That's what I get for not unpacking the box of things Cameron & I bought down at WDW until last night. Looks like I was shorted a couple items and it was enough to cause a major panic. Now that I've been out shopping a good part of today, everything is under control. :cool2:
I just could use a break from all of that. I'll plan on chat! :cool1:

Just got our airfare booked for October. We had some FREE travel vouchers from being bumped last month and we are using them for October. Unfortunately, we wanted to leave Thursday (all they had was a red eye) so we will leave Friday the 20th and return on Saturday the 28th. Now to adjust the car rental one less day! ;)

I think I'll be popping in for a tad on chat tonight.
I started wrapping presents last night while Jeff & Nick were camping and I ran out of tape. I couldn't believe it. So off to WalMart I went this morning. Went bright and early to get in & out without any hassles.

I popped in to chat too late. We had our Christmas program at church tonight, and since church is 30 away from home, by the time we got back, everyone had left. Don't think I'll be there next Sunday night either, but maybe on Friday for cruise chat. We'll see....Sorry I missed all of you!
Morning all. :sunny:
Short chat for me last night. As I told Amy, sometimes I feel like I always say to my kids "in a minute" instead of "I'm coming". Last night was one of those times it just felt right to instantly acknowledge them. Besides, I had been heating my toe with a heating pad and I couldn't do that on the computer. Can you believe it's still sore from when I broke it in November? :earseek: This is one of those times that I feel like I probably should have gone to the doctor. :guilty:
Anyway, I hope I didn't offend anyone bugging out as quick as I did. I'm thinking next Sunday will probably be out.....maybe Friday if all is caught up. I have a ton of things to wrap for my kids. I don't know what I was thinking, but I don't see it getting done while they are around. I've already told Gary one night this week, he's going to have to take the kids out someplace so I can get it all done. With them on Winter Break, they now put us to bed as it's a treat for them to stay up late (okay, Walker doesn't make it all that late but Cameron is another story :faint: ).
We are having our daycare Christmas party today. All the presents are wrapped, stocking are stuffed. I just need to blow up the helium ballooons. The kids are going to be like crazy little people today  in anticipation of their gifts. It's too cold out to play outside so it's going to be a long day.
I took my own kids sledding yesterday. It was freezing! :cold: I'm sure I would have been warmer if I did anything but stand in the cold but I was afraid to with the way my foot feels. We got into the car, I'm chilled to the bone and Cameron's sweating up a storm. They had fun but we are in need on some fresh snow, the hills are starting to show the grass underneath which makes it harder for the sleds to travel.

Cindy - no problem putting your kids first! Your exit was just so quick we didn't get to say good-bye. :) I think most of us only made it to about 9 pm.
Sorry to hear your toe is still bothering you! Here's hoping it gets better soon.
Your party today sounds like fun - hope you and the kids all enjoy it!

Have fun with the kids today, Cindy!! I'm sure that it will be a great treat for them. Again, I sure wish that you lived near by, then I wouldn't have to worry about putting Madison in daycare to go back to work. Luckily, I won't have to do that until she's old enough to go to preschool.
I know what you mean about getting the wrapping done, Cindy. Luckily, both of mine still nap for a little while, so I'm going to try to get it done each day while they are resting. I just have to watch it so that Emily doesn't wake up early and surprise me.
Well, today is our anniversary, so Chris is at home today. 7 years together.
We don't have any big plans, except to just spend the day together. We are doing stuff around the house, and Chris is working on putting our master bathroom back together. Then, we're going out to dinner at Bonefish Grill tonight while my mom watches the girls.

Cindy--have lots of fun with the kids today. I'm sure it will be a great time. We had our kids Christmas party last week, actually two of them and little kids opening presents is the cutest thing. Of course, Julia would unwrap the gift, toss the gift and play with the paper!

But if we gave kids paper and boxes for Christmas, we'd probably be in jail for child abuse or the kids will be in therapy for the rest of their lives.

Happy Anniversary Amy & Chris!
Hope you two have a great day. :lovestruc
WOW, what a busy week. The girls did most of the wrapping yesterday. They did a great job. I just hope they put the right names on the gifts. :rotfl2: We are going to have my family over for Christmas day so I need to get cleaning. I also have to plan for dinner and go shopping. So much to do.
The girls got their schedule for gymnastics for Jan at Disney. I am so excited. The next few weeks are going to fly by. Next week Christmas, the next New Years then Niagara Falls, then a meet in Canton and finally Disney. I am tired just thinking about it.
But if we gave kids paper and boxes for Christmas, we'd probably be in jail for child abuse or the kids will be in therapy for the rest of their lives.
Your right, therapy it would most likely be.
I still remember that I didn't get that hook-n-ladder fire truck when I was 2-3. After all, it wasn't a "girl" toy.
I more than made up for that 1 missing fire truck with the amount of fire trucks my boys have. :teeth: Definately my form of therapy. ;)

Sorry we missed chat last night - my BIL flew in for meetings here so we took him to dinner at Salt Grass Steakhouse :chat: and then on up to Plano. By the time we returned to the house it was 10:30 and we were pooped!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY AMY AND CHRIS!!!!! May you have many more together
Cindy - I'm sure the kids will have a great time and sleding sounds like so much fun. Sorry to hear about your toe, I broke my big toe in college and they wanted to cast it but we were going skiing so I said no. At the time I thought it was a great idea, now when it's cold and it aches I think it wasn't. I hope it heals fast!
This week is going to fly by - we work each day through Thursday, I still have some minor shopping to finish and some shipping that must happen today, plus one last batch of cookies. I leave Friday for Iowa and Matt leaves Saturday for North Carolina. We both arrive back on Monday. I can't wait till the 30th when we leave for NYE at WDW!

Well, I successfully wrapped about a 1/3 of my gifts while the girls were napping. And, I have them hidden in the garage under a big tarp. Luckily, Emily is only 4 and does't think to snoop yet.
I wanted to get more done tonight, but since we're going out to dinner, I don't think that's happening.
We've been battling with a company regarding installing our new kitchen & bar countertops. They promised us in early November that they would be in by Christmas. Well, it's Christmas week and they still haven't scheduled. We keep calling the salesperson, and he insists that they know that it was promised by Christmas, but still nothing. Then, Chris called again about an hour ago and they said that we are on their schedule for Wednesday. Well, no one told us!! We have to remove everything from the countertop & bar, along with everything in the lower cabinets in order for them to install. It would be nice to be given more than a days notice. Our sales guy was going to confirm and call us back, but alas, no call!!! I don't think that I'm getting my new countertop by Christmas. :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

Hey there everyone.
:jumping1: Happy Anniversary Chris & Amy :jumping1:
Well Nick & Jeff had a good time at the Boy Scout Camp overnight.
The other leader of my den was there too with his son and I guess the boy who slept in the bunk above him had "an accident" during the night so the other leader got an unexpected shower sort of say and not the kind you want. :rotfl2:
Gee to think I didn't camp out and missed that!
The majority of my gift wrapping is done. Phew! I just need a gift bag or 2 for my food item gifts that really don't wrap well.

And, poor Jeff. There is NO way I'd take my scout den camping. None! Absolutely not! I can't even tolerate their behavior for a 1 hour den meeting.
I'm SO glad it's almost over. And, since Cameron decided not to cross over and Walker tells me he doesn't want to be a Scout, I think I'm in the home stretch! :cheer2:

Hey everyone - we're back from our anniversary dinner. If you've never been to Bonefish Grill, give it a try, it's great. Of course, they mostly have fish, but they do have some other entrees as well. Boy, oh boy, was is good!!!!!
And, guess what I got for my anniversary???
A shiny, new, stainless steel sink!!! Isn't that exciting?!?!?! Actually, we found out that the countertop guys are going to be here tomorrow between 11am and 1pm, so we needed to buy our new sink. So, $500 later, we have our new sink & garbage disposal. How romantic!?!?!?!?!

This reminds me of my anniversary about 8 years ago. The week before our anniversary, the transmission in my washing machine went out. It was going to cost alsmost as much as a new washer would to repair it, and since the washer was about 20 years old, DH and I went out to dinner and then to the appliance store for a new washer on our anniversary. The guys at work gave him a hard time about buying me a washing machine for an anniversary gift until one guy said "Now don't be too hard on Ken. Mary had used that washboard of hers until it was all worn out!"

I love those practice gifts!! Give me a toaster or a new coffee pot anyday, and I'll be happy (no, we don't need new ones, Garfield ;) :rotfl2: Sorry, your on your own this year as far as ideas).
We just bought a new microwave and a new knife set. My kind of gifts. :cheer2:
So, who else loves to receive practical gifts (I won't say givers, I know better ;) )?
Cindy - how was the party yesterday?
It turned out to be one of those situations where the best laid plans backfire.
I had 2 out sick in the morning. Sent another 2 home sick. That left me with my own kids, 1 - 4 year old, and 3 - 1 year olds. A very strange day indeed.
It's been a while since I had a day like that. Two things I noticed......gee, those little ones are easy. They don't care if they work on a project (as they usually eat it) and MAN can they make a mess!! The 5 year old I care for is the "Best Cleaner Upper" I have and I didn't realize how much he truly helps around here. This place looked like a tornado blew threw here by the end of the day. As I would be trying to straighten up, the little ones would be taking the things right off the shelf (I guess it's that toddler law in effect --- if you touch it, it's MINE, MINE, MINE :rotfl: , they are all rather good at that).
So, it was a laid back, crazy kind of day. It will be like that until after the 1st of the year. I'm only working a handful of days until then -- :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: - I have Friday, Monday, Tuesday & Friday off so it will be a treat. One of the little boys I watch will not be here after today -- as his parents are both teachers and they stay home over winter break (I get paid though :) ). Another family with their 2 kids is going to Texas ( Julie & David I'll tell them to say hi) and because of the crowds out and about over the break, I don't usually take the kids anyplace. I am thinking of doing breakfast at McDonald's playland one of these morning, but then Cameron would actually need to get up before noon. :earseek:

Wow, we know that around here!!! Madison is a big MESS maker, but her sister helps too. But, while Emily knows how to clean up (she doesn't like it, but she does know how to do it), Madison is still learning. And, while Maddie will pick stuff up and put it away with direction, that only lasts a few minutes, then she just starts playing with it again!!!

And I agree about outings over school breaks :scared: too many older kids on my "turf"! Next week will be a busy one for us. We go to NJ on Sunday morning, after all Santa's gifts get delivered here. We'll stay Sunday night, come home Monday night and drop Bruce off so he can go to work. Then the girls and I will go back down Tuesday through Thursday to hang out with my brother and the rest of the family and we won't come back until Friday because I'm hosting a new years party for the kids! :faint:

Did I share that story?? The first (and only) time I attempted to empty the canister, I had no idea how easy it was and emptied the entire contents all over my kitchen floor.
Let's just say, it's very easy to empty. All it takes is the press of a button.
Just last night, Gary asked "doesn't anyone know how to empty this canister". Nope, not I.

Debbie,
Noticed your post about pro football - GO JAGS. Caught my attention because we live in Jacksonville - home of the Jags. (At least this year we can admit to it LOL) You do live in TN, right - home of the Titans. I love football - college (Michigan) and pro (JAGS). My dh tolerates it, but looks forward to February when he can have the TV back. Only game he does look forward to is the Michigan/Ohio State game. He is a Buckeye fan.
Also, wanted to let everyone know that we had a good time at WDW this past weekend with Gail, John and family. They had a L-O-N-G trip down. Took them 8 hours to get through Ohio. At one point everyone was out of their cars and trucks and were sliding down on I-75 and chit chatting. Their whole trip took about 24 hours. YUK!!! They are now on their cruise. They will return on Friday and will come to our house Christmas day.
Is everyone ready for Christmas????? I have to go buy my food for Christmas dinner. Think I will go early tomorrow morning. I work for Hallmark and have 3 grocery stores where I manage the card aisles. It sure was a pain this week trying to get my work done and staying out of the way of shoppers.

Glad to hear John & Gail & family made it. I bet that was one long trip they had. At least they arrived safely. Hopefully their trip back up will be uneventful.
Carol, how does someone get into being the person to straighten up the cards in the grocery stores? I've seen people do this and always wondered. Not like I have extra time on my hands, but maybe someday, when I get too old to care for all these kids, I might think about something like that. :rolleyes1

That is great that Gail and John made it safely. Even with the extra hours on the trip, it's good that they made through the dangerous weather. I'm sure the weather on the cruise is a lot more enjoyable! :sunny:

Cindy, the interesting part about me working for Hallmark is that Gail and I talked about it and she found the website where you check for openings and I am the one working :rolleyes1 Actually the best part of this job is I decide which days I want to work during the week. That way I have the freedom to make my schedule work for a spur of the moment disney trip!! I use to take care of kids when I lived in Michigan. That is a lot of work. Now my other sister in Michigan cares for kids.
I forgot to mention when John and Gail met up with us at OKW (we had a 2 bedroom we shared) Gail gave me their extra litho from the member cruise. I am so excited to get it framed. I went back in the postings and printed the pictures of what others have done. Isn't it great to have a nice sister :cheer2: (and BIL)
Steve, I will let John give you the whole story of their trip when you meet up in January. It was a wild one. Gail's three oldest kids will be driving back on Friday. Hopefully they will have better weather this time.

Oh that poor boy.
:cheer2:
Nicks on the fence about crossing over so I'm not sure if I'm in the home stretch or not.

Sounds like my house kind of....only where can I get a five year old to pick up after my two? :rotfl2:
And I agree about outings over school breaks :scared: too many older kids on my "turf"! Next week will be a busy one for us. We go to NJ on Sunday morning, after all Santa's gifts get delivered here. We'll stay Sunday night, come home Monday night and drop Bruce off so he can go to work. Then the girls and I will go back down Tuesday through Thursday to hang out with my brother and the rest of the family and we won't come back until Friday because I'm hosting a new years party for the kids! :faint:
More power to you. :faint:
Luckily the furthest I have to drive is 5 miles on Saturday evening to go to Mom & Dad's for Dad's awesome Paella dinner!
Then everyone will come to my house Christmas day for brunch for my family favorite Creme brule french toast! Doors always open so if your in town stop on by! :cool1:

I missed it. Didn't check the boards last night. We went out to dinner and got home late (8:30ish). By the time I had everything cleaned up from the day, it was time for Gary & me to go to bed. Walker & Cameron, well, they have another idea of going to sleep these days. Winter Break full force in our house -- Cameron has taken to sleeping until noon.....and then he only gets up because I have to put the daycare kids down to sleep in the bedrooms. Ahhh, the life.
thanks Mary! We are headed back to HHI in 3 months! :cool1:
You and I will get along well. We love Hilton Head. July will be our 6th year there.....it's our favorite family vacation spot. The idea of not going for a year is just unacceptable to all of us. We thought, just for a split second, of skipping July this year and using the points for the cruise. But, it left such an empty feeling in our stomach's that we just couldn't do it.

Good morning everyone!!
Well, the counter guys came to put in our new kitchen counter yesterday. They were supposed to be here between 11 and 1pm and didn't get here until 3pm. Then, it went downhill from there. What a nightmare!!!
Let's just say that I have a kitchen counter, but no backsplashes. My bar counter is still missing. I have stuff all over my bedroom from the kitchen, because I have no place to put it. My sink still isn't in & functioning. So much for having a new kitchen & bar counter for Christmas. I have just the kitchen counter, nothing more. Oh well, best laid plans.
Tonight we're going to see Chris's mom & brother to have our Christmas celebration with them. We'll have dinner, open presents, etc. Should be fun!! The only problem is that we stayed up SO late last night putting everything back together, plus the nightmare that we have to face today that driving home late tonight is not appealing. I think that I might have to sneak in a nap while the girls are napping.
Awe, Amy, I'm sorry. A lot of work that turned into lots of hassle. It will work out but it sounds like you have the right attitude. :cool1:

Good, it was a repeat. I didn't know if she returned to Hilton Head or not.
If you haven't tried Sea Shack, do!! We did this past summer. It's definately a "local" place. We saw many people stopping in for their weekly lunch there. It's worth a repeat trip.
I did hear that Sea Shack was not very happy with Rachel Ray after the filming, which is why there is no indication of her being there at all. I heard it wasn't a pleasant experience for them and there were problems filming the show.
But the restaurant is a treat!!
Very COOL! :cool1:

It is a small world. On the SSMC05, we called these type of things a "twilight zone moment". Or TZ for short. :cool1:
My older son became pen pals with 2 of the boys on the last cruise. Stitch#1, Stacy, is sailing again this cruise with her son Nick who Cameron spent a lot of time with on the cruise. Very awesome to have a friend who lives in another state. They were buddies in no time!!
Diana is keeping the kids list. Might want to check with her if there is anyone listed with a daughter around the same age as yours. Definately nice to have a pen-pal.
Speaking of which, Stacy, Cameron hasn't totally ignored Nick. He just can't get to his email since the computer crashed. And, everytime I think about it, Gary's not around. I'll write a note right now so hopefully Gary can figure out what the problem is and Cameron can respond. :confused3

Yes, I am keeping the kids list, and I've been slacking on my duties! :rotfl: I had said I would post the list once a week and ask for updates and haven't done it in a while so....here it goes!
:bounce: ATTENTION PARENTS WITH KIDS CRUISERS!!!! :bounce:
Hi! I'm Diana aka Diana Lyn and this is my 3rd Member Cruise! I have two little children, Emma who will turn 3 right before we sail, and Julia who will turn 2 just before we sail They are 13 months apart. :faint:
Last year, Cindy and Lisa thought it to be a good idea to keep a list of all the kid cruisers by age so the older kids can make pen pals (are they even called that still?) and the parents can make friends with other parents who have kids the same age. This worked out well for me, because I met Amy! It also helped lots of others make some really good friends. Anyway, and I do have a point here! I will be keeping the Kids List for SSMC06!! I will post this list every so often to keep everyone updated. So, if you would like your children to be listed on the list, pm me their first name and age at time of sailing and if you don't want their name posted but want to be included, that's ok too, you can just say DS age 9 and I'll post it as DS (9) (your screenname). I'm hoping to come up with a cute little something for the kids, but nothing I could ever come up with would be as good as the job Lisa and Cindy did last year....so I'm open to suggestions! :flower:
Let the planning begin! :boat:

Hi Carol
We lived in St Marys, GA when they announced that we would get a football team.
My DH was in the Navy and he used to get tickets for $8.
of course they were in the nose bleed seats, but it was so much fun to be at a live game.
I've lived in TN for 6 years now and still cant seem to drum up any enthusiam for the Titans
BTW I used to love the Regency Mall area,

Not a problem! At this time a year it's a miracle most moms don't commit Hary Cary (sp?). I'm lucky if the computer even gets turned on never mind Nick getting on and checking his email!
Nick will be here whenever Cameron gets a chance to write!
:faint: :faint: :faint: I just spent 2 hours wrapping presents. I'm exhausted! The only reason I stopped is I ran out of tape. How on earth that happened, I haven't a clue. We buy the 6 or 12 pack at Sam's so we always have tape in the house. Just not tonight.
Lots to still do before Christmas. We just decided to invite my Mom over on Christmas Eve to spent the night. Not an easy task as my mom is handicapped and very dependent on those around her for care. I just feel like, even though my mom and I don't see eye to eye on a lot of things, who knows how many more Christmas' she will have. And, I have no doubt she will enjoy waking up Christmas morning to see Cameron & Walker open their gifts.
Tomorrow is my last day of work until after Christmas. :cheer2: The kids are all charged up and rearing to go. :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: Today was another strange day for us here -- only 4 kids here in the morning and 5 in the afternoon. It's so strange and out of sync when I don't have the entire crew.
We need to finish up the babies cards for their parents (actually, I need to finish them as the babies won't help in a way that the outcome will be semi-pretty) and wrap the gifts the kids made for their parents. We'll be busy, no doubt. And, I'm certain they will be extra :hyper: as one family is bringing donuts for breakfast. I know I'm going to regret agreeing to that. :rotfl2:
I take it by the lack of responses on this thread, that everyone is busy. I didn't realize that Hanukkah starts on Christmas Day this year. I thought it was earlier in December. I must admit, I am very lacking in other religions and their holidays, but I do know that Hanukkah lasts for several days. So, as we are winding down our Christmas traditions, Hanukkah is just starting up. I'm sure everyone is very busy this time of year.
For those of you who won't post/read between now and then, Happy Holidays to all of you!

Cheryl,
Go for it!!! In fact, I've been toying with the idea of doing that with my family if we decide to do WDW after the cruise. Cameron definately wants to do F&W at Epcot, but we could skip the other parks and try Universal. We've never been.

I thought that latkes were potato pancakes. I've even eaten them. Need to have them with sour creme as applesauce reminds me of baby food.
I wonder just how many jars of applesauce I've fed to kids over the years -- must be at least 1,000. No wonder I can't stand the stuff. :rolleyes1
Chocolate coins? We'll pass on those. :earseek: I know, I know, we are probably the only ones who don't like chocolate.

That's exactly my thoughts. One of these days, we'll skip the presents and hassle of getting everything together (and dealing with family in my case) and travel over the holidays. The option is on the horizon for us -- but as long as we have a semi-believer around here, Mom's not ready to give up all traditions just yet.

I just wanted to drop-in for a quick post. I haven't been on the Boards at all lately (The last post that I read was #2892...).
You see, I just can't get into the holidays at all this year. I've been so sad lately, and missing my brother like I lost him last week instead of 2 years ago. I'm not exactly sure why I'm having such a hard time this year, but I am.
Anyway, I'm sorry that I haven't been around. I hope like crazy that everyone is well and happy. Hopefully I'll be able to get out from underneath this cloud soon, and jump back in with all of you wonderful and nutty people. I do miss you guys...

Karen - :grouphug: to you! The holidays are often hard for people who have lost someone special. Take it at your own pace. Know that we are here for you. To vent at, to laugh with, whichever will work for you. Or just take some time away - many months until we cruise and we'll still be here. Won't take much to get caught up!

Hi Karen,
Holiday's are tough. I know this time of year I think about my relatives who have passed on. It's been 25 years since my dad passed away and I can still remember him as if he was here yesterday. There are a lot of memories this time of year that seem to come to the surface.
Hang in there.

Oh Cindy - Doesn't it get you when some things just don't go as planned. That's been happening a LOT around here lately.
I need to work on wrapping presents too. I certainly don't want to wait until Christmas eve, or I'll be up all night. I've already done some, but I need to at least 2/3 more.
You are so sweet that you do little projects with the kids, etc. I'm sure that makes it SO special for the kids (& parents). Urggg, why don't you live in FL??? Because you know I'm not coming back to Chicago (& snow). :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
41. How many cities have you lived in? 1 (but most of my life I've lived in Villages which are suburbs of Chicago)
Well, then I guess I need to change my answer too. Only 1 city -- Chicago. The rest are Villages.
I feel better now. :teeth: :rotfl2:

And I agree with Cindy....go for it. I know if I was anywhere near FL I'd trade Christmas for WDW or Universal in a heartbeat. I REALLY need to move to Florida! :rotfl2:
Yes you do!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Then you can be like us and take advantage of the $38 special at Saratogo on Christmas night.

That's exactly my thoughts. One of these days, we'll skip the presents and hassle of getting everything together (and dealing with family in my case) and travel over the holidays. The option is on the horizon for us -- but as long as we have a semi-believer around here, Mom's not ready to give up all traditions just yet.
I'm the same way, as long as they believe, we stay here on Christmas morning. But, all bets are off for Christmas evening, and we're going to WDW.

Hey gang -
I just wanted to drop-in for a quick post.
Happy Holidays -
Karen
Oh Karen - I'm SO sorry to hear that this time of year is so rough for you. Just know that all of these wonderful & nutty people are also very caring. And, if you ever need a :grouphug: or a shoulder to cry on, we're here for you. Even if it's just in cyberspace!!!

Amy, how many friends do you have? Enough to fill my daycare? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I'm sure we can find you plenty with your qualifications!!!
Even if it's just in cyberspace!!!
You know what, Amy. To me this is no longer cyberspace. Some of us have gotten to know each other fairly well, others we're still developing those friendships, but to me, it's so much different than just responding to a thread.
This is our little corner of the world. A place where we can be us and have a great time doing it.
Prior to the last cruise, I mostly posted on the Community Board and occassionally on the DVC board. What I gained through our last thread, and this one too, is friends that I never would have made if I continued posting the way I had been.
Does that make sense?
I'm sure we can find you plenty with your qualifications!!!
Okay, just need to work on a job for Gary, schools for the kids, and housing. :rotfl2:

That makes perfect sense! Some occasional posters may not understand it but those of us who have become friends do! I think creating the cruise meets forum is one of the best things the DIS has done.

To those of you who were on SSMC05 and anyone else who wishes. Can you please send some prayers and pixie dust to Grandma Lightbulb. Karen just posted over on the May thread that she's having a hard time with the follow-up chemo and Grandma Lightbulb (aka Mary) won't be joining us on the May cruise. So if you could spare some time in your thoughts and prayers for her today I know it will be appreciated.

Karen, you know it's so funny that you've posted this, as I have also been not as chatty as I usually am because I have been having my own pity party here. I lost my mother 20 years ago and it seems like the void in my life is bigger than it's ever been. It's amazing how many of us are feeling the same way this time of year. Personally, I've just made myself so insanely busy the last couple of weeks, I literally haven't had time to think, but I took a ride out to the mall yesterday and my mind got the best of me. Just know that as nutty as we are, many of us are in eerily similar circumstances and we're all here for you to talk to! Since I don't hug! :flower3:

You see, I just can't get into the holidays at all this year. I've been so sad lately, and missing my brother like I lost him last week instead of 2 years ago. I'm not exactly sure why I'm having such a hard time this year, but I am.
Anyway, I'm sorry that I haven't been around. I hope like crazy that everyone is well and happy. Hopefully I'll be able to get out from underneath this cloud soon, and jump back in with all of you wonderful and nutty people. I do miss you guys...
Happy Holidays -
Karen
Karen - wishing you peace during this holiday season and looking forward to your return to the board when you feel up to it!

Putting ours in with the group for sure - please keep us updated Mary! Pixie Dust all around
Hi Mom - I'm 33 and I still believe :) lol cause well Mr. Claus still comes to our home!
Yeah, but at 33, I think I could "break" the news to you! :rotfl2:

A new sleigh??? No I was going to share the news I heard from one of my daycare kids today.
Santa drives a "white" car. Did you know that? I always thought he drove only a sleigh but one of my daycare children told me they saw him driving a white car. :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: :earseek:
Gosh, I hope I didn't just ruin your Christmas. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

My dh is totally taken with the Deal/No Deal show. We have had to watch it every night. We even had to get home from visiting the grandkids last night in time for this show. I thought they might have had their first million dollar winner tonight with that school teacher. Oh well, she did win more than she would probably make in several years of teaching.

Morning :sunny:
I'm up and ready to go today too. I'm also off today, Monday and Tuesday. I got up with Gary when the alarm went off at 5 so I'd have some time to wrap the rest of the kids presents before they got up. Naturally, Cameron is still sawing wood.......but Walker's been up now for about 1/2 hour. Doesn't it figure. No secret wrapping today. Guess Gary & I will be having a late night tonight finishing up everything that can't be done during the day.
When Gary goes off to work, Walker will help me wrap up his presents. In fact, Walker likes to wrap more than I do so it will be a treat to have a helper. I just wish he would have slept a bit later so I could have done some solo wrapping first.
On the way out last night, one of my daycare mom's said, "see you tomorrow". I'm like, no, I'm closed.....in fact, I'm closed until Wednesday. She looked at me, said, did I know that? Ummm, it's been on the calendar posted on the signin book for about a month now, was in my most recent newsletter, in my contract. Good thing the Dad is off, or they would have been in a bind. And, if she didn't comment on the way out, they would have been here bright and early at 7:30 this morning. I sure would have been surprised.
We went last night and bought the kids ice skates and then headed over to a little pond. Our park district not only tests to make sure they are solid enough for skaters but they plow/shovel the snow to make them nice for the skaters. We were torn between buying Walker double bladed skates or single blades. We opted for the single, as Walker has had pretty good balance (since his ear tubes went in) and learned to ride a two wheeler right after his 3rd birthday. Good choice on our part. Walker took off, with absolutely no problem keeping up. Next thing he'll be asking for is to play hockey. Cameron did really well too.
Me, with my still broken/hurting toe, I watched from the sidelines. I do have a new theory as to why it's been hurting more. As long as I wear my crocs, which I do as often as I can, I'm fine. But when I put my snowboots on, it hurts. I'll try and get some new ones after Christmas and see if that makes a difference.
Good Morning!

We thought about doing that, but the sore part is the outside of my big toe. It can't hurt. I guess we'll get out the tape tonight and have a different kind of a wrapping party. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
This is one time I know I should have gone to the doctor but my feeling is it's probably to late. And, it doesn't help that I think I broke it twice within 10 days as just as it was starting to feel better the first time, I tripped over a pair of shoes I didn't know were left by the backdoor. :earseek: It hurt worse the second time. And, now with the boots, it's hurting again.
And, part of me is afraid to go to the doctor now, as I'm a bit worried about what the "cure" might be. With it being the big toe on my right foot, how on earth would I be able to drive if I had to have surgery and it casted or something? :confused3
We'll try to tape, thanks! :flower:
I'm kinda behind with this thread (snip)
Janet, I just want to make a comment about your comment above. I hope no one feels as if they are "behind" on this thread. There really isn't any "behind". I don't want anyone to feel like if they can't read every day or every other day or every week, that they are going to miss anything important in here.
I don't have any experience with any other meet thread but I will say, based on experience with the last one, those of us who post frequently will definately make sure to fill in, rebump, repost anything that others who don't post frequently might have missed. In other words, if it's important, we try and try again to make sure the information is posted so that everyone has a chance to read it, regardless of how often they check the thread.
And, if there are any questions, along the way, please always feel free to ask. We will all try and help. Last SSMC05 was our first cruise, and I was very, very nervous about the entire trip, but I gained so much valuable information from this thread that it helped to ease my jitters.
I hope that makes sense. :flower:

Cindy you bring up a good point. Back when there was no cruise meets board the main cruise board was kind of overrun with people chatting and getting to know others on thier cruise. That's why the cruise meets forum became its own entity. This part of the forum is dedicated to individual cruises and giving DISers a chance to meet and get to know each other.
This is the 5th meets thread that I've been involved in (not sure if there was one for SSMC03). The first one for our May '03 cruise was slightly active and while we had a nice DIS meet and sat next to DISers at dinner we really didn't feel like part of the group.
.
Our next one for the 10 day Holiday cruise in 2004 was a big success with lots and lots of posts (we hit 24,000 posts on sailing day). We made some amazing friends from that thread. Some who we'll be sailing with in May of 2006 and some that I still talk to on almost a daily basis. We became a real community there. We laughed together, we cried together. We've helped each other out in medical emergencies. We've had couples get divorced since the cruise and have been there to offer support. I have also able to help one of the cruisers when her MIL was diagnosed with the same cancer as I had.
Then came SSMC05. Same of us had sailed before on SSMC03 and some of us had met at the DVC Member Homecoming. We also had a lot of first time cruisers. We found that the thread became a mixture of information (with the new cruisers asking questions and the veterans answering them) and getting to know each other (through the little quizzes like the one posted yesterday). What we also found was that there were lots of Twilight Zone moments - things we had in common even through we lived all across the country. Those TZ moments I think brought many of us even closer. What it led to was an amazing cruise. SSMC03 was great, but SSMC05 was amazing. Part of it was what DVC had planned for us, but even more was being able to take it all in with great friends made here on the boards. From the party the night before, to just about any event we went to, and even to the parks and resorts after the cruise - we ran into fellow DISers everywhere. It was wonderful!
Our May '06 thread is much the same way and now we have this one.
I think my fellow frequent posters will agree that getting to know each other and learning about each others lives makes the cruise great. Some people only post from time to time - maybe because of thier busy lives or because they just don't have the interest of posting all the time. That's fine as well. Last, but not least, we've had people in the past who only posted once or twice and didn't really want anything to do with the group - that's fine too. Everyone has their own style. Please know that everyone is welcome to this group. If you are an infrequent poster and have a question that you don't want to get lost in all the chat you might try something that one of the new cruisers on our May thread does. She starts the post like this:
CRUISE QUESTION **** CRUISE QUESTION **** CRUISE QUESTION ****
She always gets an answer! :)

Spoke with Gail this am. They are at OKW for the week. Her first comment was "I hope it warms up". Yeah, wait till she gets back to Michigan and our cool Florida weather will be like a heat wave. Of course, she said it was 90 degrees in the Cayman Islands. So I guess our 60's are a bit cool now. She said Cozumel is still pretty messed up.
Merry Christmas

Oohhh, I'm SO jealous of you!!! My house is still a disaster. Chris finally got our new sink installed and the dishwasher hooked up again. So, I can finally clean up our kitchen again. I still don't have a bar counter that wraps around on the other side of my kitchen counter, but it will have to wait until at least next week before they come back.
I'm going to spend tonight cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. Then, I hope to just enjoy tomorrow with the girls, then church, dinner and getting ready for Christmas after the girls go to bed.

Glad to hear you're partially back to normal.
We had crazines over the summer when we got new carpeting. When they pulled up the old carpet we found there had been some water leaks and some of the subfloor had rotted so they couldn't put the new carpeting down because the tack strips wouldn't hold. We were having the carpeting done in my Living room, Hallway, & bedroom and we had to replace subflooring in each and reschedule a time for them to come back and put in the carpet. So the house was a shambles for like 10 days. It was a big mess

When we moved into this house we had the opposite. There was already carpeting down in what the previous owners used for a living room. Our intent was to dump the idea of a living room and make it the dining room as there was a prefectly good completely finished rec/living room in the basement. And the fact we have an excellent formal dining room set that was from Field's(not bought by us tho-longer story).
Pull up the rug to discover... a near perfect oak hardwood floor! Not veneer, real oak tounge in groove. Only problem was a number of drywall screws that had been shot in to quiet squeaks. Backed them out, countersunk and put them back in, covered with wood filler. They look like pegs in the floor now. Then I refinished it myself, proper sanders and all, What a dust mess that was! Two nice coats of polyuerthane later and it really looks great :)

Makes you wonder why someone would cover that up. :confused3
An area rug to define a space or add some color maybe.
I love hardwood floors and now that Nick was tested again for allergies and reacted to Feathers, mold, & dust mites hardwood floors will be a big consideration when we go to look for a house.

Amy,
You may want to rest up before your trip to WDW on Sunday. I just talked to Gail and they said the Magic Kingdom is open till midnight and then it is extra hours for resort guests and opened till 3 am. I would just have to go just to say I did it. Of course, I would be non functional the next day!
Glad to hear you were able to get some normalcy (sp) back in your kitchen. Especially the dishwasher :Pinkbounc

Hello everyone!
Well we had a very nice Christmas. This was the first year DS Nick was actually awake before Jeff & I.
We had TONS of fun at my parents house last night. I don't know if anyone has heard of Jones Soda. Well during the holidays they make a special holiday pack of soda.
The tantilizing flavors are.......Brussels Sprout with Prosciutto, Cranberry Sauce, Turkey & Gravy, Wild Herb Stuffing, and Pumpkin Pie.
Well we had a lovely sampling of all last night and can I say it was some of the most interesting things I had EVER tasted! If you ever see it in stores BUY IT and have a taste testing of your own with family and make sure you have the camcorder ready it makes for some great movies to look back on and enjoy!

This morning we just had everyone over to our house for brunch. I made the Creme Brulee French toast & a Quiche!

Monday, December 26 @ 12am ET/PThttp://www.historychannel.com/global/listings/images/spacer.gifJourney underground and backstage at the technological marvel that is Walt Disney World. Enter a make-believe world spanning some 27,000 acres, brought to life by cutting-edge technology. What was once Florida swampland now boasts the world's largest theme park. The ride technology ranges from space-age centrifuges to enhanced motion vehicles powered by 3,000 PSI of hydraulic pressure. And hundreds of audio animatronics brought to life through the power of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Walt Disney World is made up of four separate theme parks, each with its own innovations: the 107-acre Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney-MGM Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom. The four parks are all part of a megaplex of a resort. Twice the size of Manhattan, it was the final vision and crowning achievement of a man who spent more than 40 years pushing the limits of technology to create entertainment magic: Walt Disney. WOW! It's still quiet here today.
I went bargain shopping this AM. Nothing really out there that struck my fancy. But the areas where I needed to shop were empty. No one was out early picking up all those household items we are always in need of. :) So, all was not lost.
I did want to go to Hallmark. Usually I buy the clearance Snowbabies today. We drove by last night on our way home. Cameron jumped out of the car, checked the sign and came back, saying they opened at 9. So, 9 a.m., I'm in the parking lot, wondering where everyone else is? :confused3 Low & behold, Cameron read the sign wrong, and they didn't open until 9:30. I had already been out for a couple of hours and the idea of sitting there for another 1/2 hour didn't appeal to me. So, I went home. Guess I now have more $$'s for my konk kooler fund. :teeth:
Cameron & I went to see the Chronicles of Nardia today. We both enjoyed it. I'm glad Walker was with Gary building a boat for a regatta, as I'm certain he would have been scared with some of the intensity. We'll rent it when it comes out on DVD, that way Walker can watch it if he choses (which right now he's not interested in seeing it) as he can always stop watching.
Speaking of Walker, he lost his first tooth this afternoon. Called me all excited that he pulled it out. Guess we'll be having a visitor tonight. :wizard:
6,000 posts........ :cheer2: How on earth did that ever happen.
I tried to stay up for that show on the History Channel last night. No Tivo for us, so that wasn't an option. And, apparently, me staying up wasn't an option either as I don't think I watched any of it. Hopefully it will repeat another time.
Hope everyone had a great holiday yesterday & if you are still celebrating, enjoy!!

We recorded the show last night and watched it as well. GREAT show...one of the best I've ever seen about Disney.

Well, we're back from WDW. That was an interesting experience!!!
We didn't end up leaving here until around 4pm because Madison just couldn't make it through dinner without a nap. So, we let her nap and got everything ready while she was sleeping. Then, off to WDW and Saratoga Springs. We checked in without any problems with the $38 rate for the studio. We got a great water view.
Since we got there relatively late, we decided not to go to the Magic Kingdom. It was open until 3am for the resort guests, but we didn't think that it would be any fun for the girls that late. Plus, they were opening at 7am this morning, so we figured we would have an early morning. So, we grabbed some dinner at the McDonald's at DD and did some shopping. We decided to drive around for a bit to get the girls to fall asleep in the car, and by 9:30pm, they were both out like a light!! We got back to the resort, put them both in the pull out bed and all was well. The alarm was set for 5:15am, to get up, shower and get to MK by 7am.
Well, it went downhill from there. Emily woke up around 1:15am and wanted to sleep with Chris and I. I told her that there wasn't any room. She just lost it!! She started crying and wouldn't stop. So, finally, after about 10 minutes of crying, she woke up Madison. Then, Emily went back to sleep and Madison was up, kicking Chris and I, until around 3:45am. So, the idea of a 5:15am wake up call was not on my list. So, I turned off the alarm and we didn't get up until 8am. What a rotten night!!!!
Anyway, we had breakfast at SS and then headed over to MK. It was quite crowded, but we expected that. We watched the Christmas parade then rode the train around the park and then back to Frontierland. Emily is just shy of being able to ride Thunder Mountain, which made her a little sad. She really wants to be able to ride. Then, we had a late lunch and then split up. Chris took Emily onto Haunted Mansion and Maddie and I went over to Pooh's Thoughful Spot to play. We met back up an hour later and went back to play at Pooh's place.
Overall, it was fun, but I'm exhausted after such a bad night of sleep. I'm one of those that needs at least 7 or 8 hours of sleep to function well. I wish that I could go to bed early, but the girls napped on the ride home, so now they aren't tired. Urghhh!!!

Cindy - sounds like your house will be having a visit from the tooth fairy!
Stacey - Mark did a great job didn't he? I will definately have to grab those when I do my scrapbook pages for the Disneyland trip.
Amy - sorry to hear that you had a bad night. Sounds like you got to enjoy a bit of your day at least.

Hey guys, I need your help. We ran across the absolute nicest security guard at the front gate of Saratoga Springs. We wanted to write a letter or email letting someone know about what a great CM he was. Does anyone know where I would send it to? Would I send it to someone at SS, or is there another place?
Thanks guys!!!

Amy - Sorry to hear that everything didn't work out as you had hoped. I did think about you this weekend when I put our Peppermint Pig in the sack so we could whack it!
Mary - I don't blame you for grabbing Marks pics and using them in the scrapbook, I really like his handywork! :teeth:
Amy, sorry your plans didn't go as you thought they would. Sometimes kids get out of sorts in unfamiliar surroundings. It sounds like maybe that's what happened last night.
The good news is there will be another time. And, you had a good time there -- except for the sleeping/lack of sleeping arrangements.

I always send it to guest relations. We've lost a good portion of our address book so I don't have the address. What I would do is call MS (or email them) and ask for the email address for guest relations.
The thing I don't know is if security guards are CM's or a private company......does anyone?
Isn't it nice to have that feeling of going home and wanting to write about a nice positive experience!!!!! :cheer2:

Amy - my two suggestions for the letter would be to send one to the General Manager of Saratoga Springs (you can either call MS to find out the name or just send it to the title) and one to Jim Lewis.
Addresses for both can be found on the DVC site.
The letter may never actually cross Jim's desk but it will make it to the right people.
I think it is great that you are taking time to write about a good experience. Often in this day and age people only write to complain.

We did have fun, but we know that Madison has a problem sleeping anywhere but her own crib. But, that night was an especially rough one. Luckily, we have the go-with-the-flow attitude, so all was good.

Actually, I had scrapbooking in mind when I made those pictures. :)
And moreso, there's a lot of pictures I didn't include in the report that I took specifically for use in the scrapbook. Here's a good example.

Disney had a 50th contest where you'd send your favorite pictures of trips. They made them into tile murals, like this one, that are spread all over the parks/resorts. Went out of my way a lot of the time to get a snapshot of one.

Isn't that spot just plain awesome? Perfect spot for kids to be in Pooh-land for a bit longer than the ride. They really found a great use for an area that had been basically abandoned for too long.

I totally agree!!! The girls just love that place. We did have to keep them away from the water fountains, but they love the little house, the slide and all the tunnels. I'm so glad that they created it.

I hear some adults like playing in there as well. ;) :teeth:
Walker & Cameron would have loved it a couple years ago....I would have loved it too. Much better than chasing a toddler around in the regular mainstream of people. :cool1: Hopefully they will find more areas that can be adapted for young children to stretch their legs.
I think a lot of adults forget just how hard it is for a little one to sit in a stroller or stand in a line all day long. I'm sure all of you have seen the family who's on their once in a lifetime trip with a child who is just not happy to be there. Everyone gets upset, sometimes furious. It's truly heartbreaking. Hopefully more areas will come along to let the little ones regroup. :cheer2:

Mark and Mary - I really enjoyed reading all about your DL trip - made me want to go there even more in 2006 since I didn't make it there in 2005! Your pictures are awesome!!! And I don't think I mentioned it here but there's 4 pictures that I submitted included in those picture murals at DL - my dd found a few of them when she was out there in November - what a great idea that was but finding your own picture is not so easy according to dd because some of those murals are quite tall from what she told me.
I spotted the Pooh playground on my Dec trip - how cute - and sat down and watched the little ones and for some reason found myself in a daydream of the grand-baby playing there in 2 years. Guess I am ready to be a grandmother!

First - Cafepress or zazzle or doing it privately?
Does anyone have any thoughts?
Next: If we were to use cafepress or zazzle, we can not use an image of the ship and no DVC images. No Copyrighted images allowed.
Can you design? - Do you like photoshop ?
If you can we are looking for some designs. Please note: to keep costs down 4 colors only.

I really liked the first image from your t-shirt thread. When we did the repo cruise zazzle let verandaman use a picture of the ship because he had taken it himself (not a copyrighted photo). I know from using our own transfers and buying from zazzle the washing and wearing was way better with a professionally made t-shirt.

That's good to hear, because I'm sure that among all of us, we have a few pics of the Wonder.

Roxann - I think Andy would be a great resource as to how to work with cafepress and zazzle.
Amy - I love your idea of getting the kids involved! Lots of creative juices flowing there.
I would love to see something along the lines of stating the Wonder is our Home Away From Home for October 22 - 26. To keep in line with the feel of DVC. Also don't know how everyone else feels about it but it would be nice to incorporate some DIS green into it. Since everyone on the ship will be a DVC'er but how many of us will be DIS'ers. Last, but not least, it would be nice to have some kind of design on the front of the shirt as well. The plain fronts last year were a little too bland for my taste.
I don't know if either cafepress of zazzle offer custom work, but I know when the couple did ours for the 10 day cruise the front artwork (one color) was embroidered and had our names embroidered as well. It was a more expensive shirt than what we had on the last Member Cruise but a really nice touch.
I'm open for whatever the majority wants.

Ok, what about putting DIS in lime green on the front, maybe as a little logo in the upper left corner on the front. Then, we can create a design for the back. I don't know, just an idea!!

I like the idea of having something on the front and back. Last year, I felt like I wanted to wear my shirt backwards so the design showed more. As a matter of fact, Walker does wear his shirt backwards so he can see the logo. :teeth:
I agree with Amy, I'm sure one of us took a picture of the Wonder that would be of the quality to use for a tshirt. That's great news that a picture is okay to use as it's not copyright material.
I like the second design done over on the DIS design forum with the front of the ship.
Do we know what the theme from DVC is for this cruise? I think it's "Celebrating Magical Milestones". If that's it, what about incorporating our tshirt theme along the same lines? I'm not creative (but I know many of you are :teeth: ) with something like "Celebrating DIS friends" or something like that. Kind of along the same lines, yet unique to those of us here?
I like the idea of the lime green but would that be really expensive to do because of the bright color???
To Mary: I don't think we can custom our names.
-Cheryl
But maybe we can? Maybe there is someone who could come up with a price to do it for us? Like a side job, cash type thing on the side. Where we could have our shirts mailed to them, they could do the embroidery for those of us who want it, and then mail them to us when done. Of course, the cost for shipping and the work would be up to each individual to pay for. Then it could be done if we wanted it to be done, and not if that's what another family decided.
I know of two people on this thread who's Mom's both do very nice work. Maybe one of them would be interested in a little side business?
Just an idea......as I think brainstorming is a great idea as a group. :)

I agree! For the Repo. cruise we used cafepress and zazzle. They both let you do your own designs. Then, for our DCL Survivor t-shirt one of the DISers had a friend who did a nice embroidered t-shirt, hat, etc. I think I still have the design for this. I deleted the shirts from Zazzle and cafe press though.

I'm sure that my mom could do the name embroidery for those that want it. Maybe, like Cindy said, we can make it up to the individual. And, if we make the front design just a small logo on the left, then you can always add your name to the underside of the logo.

Happy Holidays everyone! We've been busy flying around the US to celebrate with our familes (unfortunately we each went our own ways so we opened gifts together last night).
Happy Birthday Diana!
Cheryl - great ideas on the tshirts! Someone on the DDA (disney design addict) thread did create DIS Green Mickey Heads that others have put on T's etc.
We have no preference on which vendor we use, however, I do like the choices available for long/short etc so if we are able to find one that does both that would be awesome.
We're in town here in the DFW area only through Friday AM and then we are heading to WDW for NYE - yes, I know we are crazy!
Hope you all are having a great week.

Absolutely, Diana. Isn't that what that board is all about......wisher fellow DIS'er the best on their birthday.
There are so many wishes over on that board that don't really mean anything.....just empty words inside of a post. I'm very certain that several of those wished a Happy Birthday don't even post on the boards. So, what is the purpose of their wishes? Again, just words.
But your Happy Birthday thread was geniune......started by a friend and replied to by friends. The true meaning of your wishes were there and that's what counts the most. Always remember that your true friends will take care of you!! :cheer2: :cheer2:
