If you do and like xmas music, I highly recommend this CD. It came out in 1996. My favorite song on there is "Mary, Did You Know". Its a duet with Wynonna.
Here's a link to a site that plays the song in the background.
Mary Did You Know (http://hometown.aol.com/sweet3fawn/Page16.html)
I will have to look for it and have DrHug put it on my new IPod. :teeth:

My Ds will be trading for the first time on this trip. I will allow him to trade with cast members. On my trip 2 August's ago I had a baby minnie pin that said "new mom." I bought if from Disney Direct (I think) any way, I was so proud of that pin because I was pregnant with Eliza. Anyway, a tourist came up to me and started to insist that I had to trade that away to him. I told him that one wasn't up for trade. He told me I didn't have a choice!!!! He was getting very pushy and ignorant. When my Dh realized what was going on... :furious: :furious: it was something along the lines of get away from my wife...how dare you try to threaten my pregnant wife...and on like that. The guy finally walked away...but what a nut!!! I wasn't "scared" of the guy...but I was glad my DH was there! Anyway, now I am very leary about trading with other guest. I prefer to stick to cast members!
We only trade with CMs too. Too many dopey people out there.

Might as well share the email jokes also... I hope this doesn't offend anyone...
Miss Beatrice, the church organist, was in her eighties. She was admired for her sweetness and kindness to all. One afternoon the pastor came to call on her and she showed him into her quaint sitting room. She invited him to have a seat while she prepared tea.
As he sat facing her old Hammond organ, the young minister noticed a cut-glass bowl sitting on top of it. The bowl was filled with water, and in the water floated, of all things, a condom! When she returned with tea and scones, they began to chat.
The pastor tried to stifle his curiosity about the bowl of water and its strange floater, but soon it got the better of him and He could no longer resist. "Miss Beatrice", he said, "I wonder if you would tell me about this?", pointing to the bowl.
"Oh, yes," she replied, "Isn't it wonderful? I was walking through the Park a few months ago and I found this little package on the ground. The directions said to place it on the organ, keep it wet and that it would prevent the spread of disease. Do you know I haven't had the flu all winter?"

Our tree is for our kids. I told Amy that after the first child was growing up, and we did one of those "designer" type trees our first year of marriage. However the ornaments land on the tree, they are beautiful. My only regret is that we do not go out anymore and cut down the tree, and we have a pre-lit white lights one now. I used to love the old big colored lights.
No museum trees when you have kids!
John1
I am proud of myself! This morning I packed up the decoration boxes and took out the things that had been missed. I did hang up a few balls & ornaments on the top part of the tree that was barren but I didn't do it orderly & I didn't change anything that the kids hung. Balls are falling off and breaking since I didn't hang them and pinch the hooks closed around the branches but that isn't going to hurt anything as long as I pick up the pieces before someone steps on them. Thinking about this last night I realized that this is just another bad anal habit that I picked up from my birthmother. :sad2: This year is the start of something new here! :cheer2:

they are a lot of kids consignment shops around - even we have one about 1/2 hour away. They really don't give you anything compared to the original value.
All the stuff disappeared that we put at the end of our driveway. Weekends seem to be better for unloading things. YIPPEE!!!
We have consignment shops, but they don't pay you until the stuff has sold. I really have never tried them because it seems like too much hassle...th eonly ones to go would be from Dina and I do have people to pass them down to. They don't really take much in toys.

You've never gone to the pin cart? The girls had a ball there each night and would plan around it. :thumbsup2
No. I just looked at the navs & can tell you why. It is only during early dinner seating. Besides, the kids trade for their pins on the cruise. They will each have 20. I will buy three from the trip...WDW, DCL, & CC...for my own collection but that is it.
DS is mainly interested in lanyard pins. DD collects princess pins.

No tinsel at our house either. You shouldn't use it on a live tree because it renders the tree un-recyclable.... (ie can't shred it) Probably because it would a) gum up the machine and b) harm wildlife that may eat it.
I never had a real tree. I think my family used to, but not that I can rememeber.

we don't pin trade although I have an entire stitch set that are fully intended for trading. We buy the ones we like and usually have some sort of meaning to our trips...the F and W fest ones, the Halloween party ones - and let me tell you. We were in line and every person in line before us spent over $200 on the special party pins. (about 9 people).....I was shocked! I know we have spent a ton, DH had to have all the pirate ones...but not that much at a time!

He is doing okay but I definitely think golfing is out.... He says now his wrist hurts... maybe because the swelling is going down and the pain is more prevalent?? Anyway, I'm going to call our doc this morning and get him a follow up. I really hope the ligament isn't torn.

We have always had a mumbo-jumbo type tree growing up...a little bit of this, a little bit of that. I do remember helping decorate at the neighbors and HATING putting on their tinsel. It had to be one strand at a time. We always loved to blow it on the tree. :Pinkbounc
Funny thing though, I never put tinsel on the tree now. I'll have to make sure I get some this year. And now the majority of ornaments are Disney. I did have a tree, pre-family, one year that had all purple decorations on it...
ramble,ramble,ramble...

If ours ever opens, doesn't look like any time soon, litigation, it won't have groceries. :teeth:
As much as I hate to say this, prices have gone up enough at our two local grocery stores that WM does have the lowest prices on alot of things. This was not the case last year. For example Capris Sun Juice boxes are regularly 3.69 at the store & the best they go on sale for here is 2.00 and rarely BOGO so 1.85 each. The every day price at WM is 1.67. Cheeze Nips are on sale for 2.00 each some times but they are only 1.50 every day at WM. Milk has been $1 cheaper there for two years now.
I use to be able to stay away from WM with double coupons & stockpiling with sales. That just isn't the case anymore since they stopped allowing you to use a coupon on each item with a BOGO sale. :(

I remember it being around 7 or 7:30? We had the earlier seating and they would want to leave early every night to go to the cart and one of the little shows like Mickey Mania. Since we were at a table alone (can you imagine??) we got through dinner pretty quick.

Alright everyone - happy Monday!!!
So is anyone else thinking about what they will be doing on this day in 3 weeks? I think I'm driving my family crazy...on Sunday I was talking about what we will be doing on CC in 3 weeks..
I was blaring Disney songs on the way to school this AM. I told my kids I would turn it down when they started to dance. It worked!
::yes:: I have been doing that too and I also try not to think about what I will be doing in 4 weeks!
:rotfl: at the Disney music because we too are in full Disney mode! We were listening to the Mickey's Dance Party CD this morning and while usually I turn over to the radio once the kids are not in the car this morning I just turned it up and danced and sang by myself! :cool1:

Caroline, Would your girls be interested in a couple LTD TOO sweatshirts?
DD has outgrown them and i know two of them have only been worn once or twice.....
Two are White with pink letters and are kinda medium weight. The other two are heavier. One is teal. One is Purple.
Sent you a pm.

My DH will be wearing Hawaiian shirts almost everyday. He loves them! I got him 2 for his birthday which I will be giving him on the ship. I got him one at woolrich that he really liked...it was about $40. It is 100% silk. Most of his were in the 15 - 20 dollar range...but he really like it.

That is true but do you really want to know how many pairs of underwear I am bringing for Nathan or how many pairs of socks I need for the week or a list of each medication? My spreadsheet is really specific - down to each person and how many of each item I need. I basically grouped my spreadsheet into the above categories - my list above was just the generic version that I thought would be more useful.

Our walmart also has consistently lower prices. The only problem is that they don't have the selection.

I am on the phone with WDW right now and there is NO availability at ANY resort 12/7-12/9. I was still trying to change.....I just hate to waste so much money for a two night stay where we won't even be able to enjoy the pool, etc.
Those with room only reservations have until 5 day out to cancel right? I would call starting on 12/2 really early and see if you find anything opening up. :)

I think I will try that...if not, I will probably cancel and just room with my mom for two nights. The savings (and extra cruise spending money, not to mention on site babysitter) would be worth it.

Its a new nintendo game...from what i've heard its one of those interactive physical games - for example, you stand in front of the TV with a tennis racket and actually swing the racket to hit the "ball", or whatever...
Wii is pronounced "WEE", as in you buy this and your money will go "wee wee wee" all the way to the store.... :
That was funny.
http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l26/fredneck_89/K3/connie_12.gif
Crazy people and their infatuations with these fad items...I have to disagree with buying into these kinds of things because they just show people its ok to fight and be ignorant to one another for the sake of a stupid game that will be obsolete in 6 months...granted the Wii crowds were not nearly as bad as the PoS3...Remember all of those non electronic "fads" - Cabbage Patch Kids and before that Beatles tickets and before that Frank Sinatra. ;) Sadly I think these same people would probably still behave badly whether they were buying a fad product or not. Perhaps that just gave them the excuse to outwardly reflect what is within?

It was started on November 25, 2004 two years this week!
I was the 22nd post and the 10th person to post on the thread. One of the other 9 was never really on the cruise (HappyLawyer) he was booked on the Wonder during our cruise.

First of all :grouphug: . I hope you feel better very soon!
Secondly the actual sinus infection is not contagious. Now whatever cold, etc.. caused the sinus infection could be but if you started with it weeks ago you may be OK. You would think they would have caught it by now.

I can't remember exactly how much either but I do remember we put about $20 worth of quarters in a baggie and kept it in the car and it was more than enough for all of the tolls we paid on our entire trip to and from Florida.
We had quite the time with tolls. We do not have such things here, and wound up looking for pennies at the last one! OY, caused a little bit of a back up, but we had a rental car with Georgia plates so we were at least relieved that we were not giving Oregonians a bad name! :rotfl: :rotfl2:

DH is driving me  right now. He is one of those shoppers who will buy thing because he liked the price, not because it is something he needs.
He is back at the furniture store, (3rd day in a row and the place isn't exactly around the corner, more like 36 miles away) and keeps calling me every half an hour. It's their last day. He is still looking at the mattresses. I think they are too much even if they are a good price. Now he is back to looking at area rugs. I am a wall-to-wall kinda carpet gal, so I keep trying to explain to him I don't have anything to input. Then he wants to get one for Sarah's room, but she said she doesn't want one if she hasn't seem it. Now he want's to buy an armoire that he likes, but we don't even need one! HELP!!!

People are just nuts! LOL. DGS works at the store (Fred Meyers) where he got his. There were about 45 people in line already, so his boss let him off a little early to wait in line. He was number 69 and there were 75 units for sale, only one per person allowed. So he and his friend each got one. They were playig it tonight and it looks like a lot of fun. I think it is a better deal than PS3. That one has too many restrictions and the games cost too much. phooey, although I am not a real gamer. Wii has boxing baseball etc, too, which is interactive with motion. I can't wait to try the boxing. I love it. I whip the arcade boxers quite a few times. LOL. Even at my age. I don't know if I still have the stamina though. It's good exercise.
One post before I leave to take Sophia to CiCi's for dinner . . .
Here is what I saw on an email tech newsletter that I get . . .
No Wii for you, Ralphie; you'll put your eye out: The final entrant in this holiday season's game console war, Nintendo's Wii, launched over the weekend with the requisite campers rushing the shelves, though thankfully without any of the bloodshed that marred the launch of Sony's PlayStation 3 last week (and may lead to Sony getting a bill from the city of Boston). Early reports were that the Wii, priced at about half the cost of the PS3 and Microsoft's Xbox 360, was moving briskly and selling out at some locations -- a pleasant surpise for Nintendo because while PS3 shortages were expected, there were plenty of Wiis in the pipeline.
The lack of any reported felonies among Wii fans did not mean that the launch was without casualties, however. The Wii's unique controller is motion-sensitive, letting users interact physically with a game, like slashing with a sword or swinging a bat ... or rolling a bowling ball, which was what one new user and his buddy were doing when the friend uncorked a throw vigorous enough to snap the safety wrist strap and send the controller flying out of his slippery hand smack into the screen of a 60" TV, leaving an impressive crack. Count on it -- with the Wii turning couch potatoes into jumping beans, this will be the first of many stories involving property damage and physical injury to users and bystanders. Then the feds will start making kids wear helmets when they play, and it'll all go to hell.

If you all can just add to my list I'll just use that one vs. creating one myself. That is the only thing I stress about - packing. Other than than I just purchase things on board and last I checked underware isn't sold on board.

While Sony surely knew it would be in big demand, they have no control over how people act. What else could they do, short of having people only order it on-line? Almost a half a million systems seems like more than enough to start to me, but I guess there are a lot more people out there willing to spend $600 (or $2000) on a game then I would think.
I just don't think anyone would have a case against Sony, but I am sure I am wrong.

I am positive the dinners weren't this way! It is just how it was listed in the Navigators that I saw. I wonder if it caused any problems?

Trying to make us feel old huh? I remember them all from first run TV not reruns! I also watched Amos & Andy (a very politically incorrect show today)
I remember them all too. Clear back to Space Patrol, Ramar of the Jungle, Beanie and Cecil when they were puppets, Howdy Doody, Burns and Allen, Gleason, life of Riley, all good stuff.....LOL.

How about Big Valley? The question becomes do you remember them in B&W or in color. No comment on Amos & Andy - and he's not talking about the radio personalities. Not PC would be an understatement

This is from the 11/11 live report from faireygod mother:
We asked for APL early seating and we got it. Our dinner is at 530pm.
That would also be for the 8 pm dinner.

DRUG RECALL INFORMATION
All drugs containing PHENYLPROPANOLAMINE are being recalled.
This is an old one. According to snopes it is out of date.
Origins: On
6 November 2000, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a public health advisory warning that phenylpropanolamine (PPA), an ingredient found in many over-the-counter cold medications and diet aids, may cause strokes and thus should be avoided. Although the FDA has not yet issued a mandatory recall of PPA-containing products, they have asked drug manufacturers to voluntarily stop selling products containing PPA and provide safer alternatives. As a result, most products that formerly included PPA have now been discontinued or reformulated without PPA while the FDA proceeds with the regulatory process necessary to remove all PPA-containing products from the market.

An example of just one of the things I love about Lisa..... I read the original post- thought oh I think that's out of date on snopes. I'll check that later and post. Then I got tied up and thought I won't worry Lisa will post on it. ;)
