Does anyone know if they sell a Briar Rabbit pin? My friend is looking for one for her daughter so I will look if I get to DTD. She said DD only has one that comes in a set. I guess I will check e-bay for her.
I have never noticed one but if there is one you'll find it at Splash Mountain

Brack, you'll have to give me some info about the battery grip. I saw a few different ones, but I am not sure if there is a certain kind? It would be nice to have something I could slip batteries into since I didn't get an extra rechargable.
There is a specific one from Canon for the XTi. There are some generics but the one from Canon has a AA battery insert for emergencies. I bought one of the Canon versions.

Thanks for the info Brack. Anyone going there that can look for a Briar Rabbit pin. We're not going to the parks. :teeth:
Thanks for the photo offer too Brack. :goodvibes How many pics do you think a 2GB can hold? I also got a smaller one for DD.
Well, we are off to the mall!

Oh, and if DH gets miffed about the camera, I will be pointing to the two of you, John and Brack! ;)
As soon as you get the camera take some pictures and then show them to him on the computer. If you have a good printer then print a couple off. He'll get over it quickly.
Be sure to tell him how much money you will save by not printing every picture you take plus being able to take many, many more pictures.

So who can I meet on my way down. Unlesss the weather is REALLY nice, I won't be taking the ferry over to DE. In that case, I will go around and will hit Baltimore and everything else between that and Georgia on 95. Brack? Kristina?
I have to see how far I will be from Patsy!
My plan is to leave Baltimore around midnight on Thursday. With any luck I'll miss any of the two beltway traffic problems and be in VA by 2AM. After that it will be smooth sailing down to WDW. I expect to arrive around 2PM on Friday.
What are your plans?

We are going after the cruise. I will try to remember to look for one and send it to you. I may accidentally have one in my collection. When I get home I'll look.
The 2GB should hold about 300 pictures in the max size picture format (you will want to shot the max size). On my last two week WDW vacation I took almost 2,000 pictures. http://bestsmileys.com/camera/1.gif

I am working on my Christmas cards right now & think that I came up with an idea. I was going to suggest that we make a master list of addresses so that we can exchange cards as well. However, what if we pass out cards in the stockings. We can put our return address labels on the inside of the cards so that they are not visible.

Good day everyone! I have gone thru the clothes for the cruise with DD. There are some that don't fit her anymore so I am glad that I "forced" her to do this! Next I found out that there was an accident with one of the DVD players this morning so I returned that to WM. No more in the store but we still have the $20 one that DH picked up at Best Buy on his way back from DC this year. Each kid will have their own.
DH is still congested.
DS's throat doesn't hurt anymore.
DD is still coughing. I had a split second of reason in the middle of her craziness this morning & looked up the med on webmd.
In young children, this medication may cause agitation/excitement instead of drowsiness.
OMG!!!! This explains so much of her behavior the past week!!! OY BOY! It also contains sugar.

The chef made a volcano out of onion circles - piled them up in descending size order - the he poured oil inside and lit it with a match - it flamed and smoked. Giona loved it - he wants to show all his friends. oooopss.
that kind of thing scares me. luckily we have no matches at home.
Jaea is still shy of fire after the microwave incident - she hid under the table for some of the meal.
We have a restaurant near us like this. They do all those cooking tricks you mentioned. Two of our DGKs always choose to go there for their BD dinners.

Hey guys!!! (Becka!!! - miss you!)
Trying to watch the Gator game..our guys are dropping like flies though - a great freshman had to be carted off the field. I was in tears over that. They are reporting he had numbness in his upper body (after a "head"' hit)...I am DONE with putting the stickers on the Mickey heads! I plan on dropping them off at Kinkos later to be laminated and then putting magnets on and bagging them up by family.

My turn for a crazy cruise dream . . . but mine was more recent . . .
I dreamed that Caroline posted all the way to 57,999 last night, and left it there for me to get the pirate: since I was getting up early this morning. However, what if we pass out cards in the stockings. We can put our return address labels on the inside of the cards so that they are not visible.

well I started packing and we are going to have some big problems. I don't think everything will fit. I tried to tell DH we should go check on rolling garmet bags but he is not too happy about that. we actually gave away some luggage a couple years ago. he said we should just borrow some from our parents or siblings. most of them never go anywhere so I don't see them having anything we can use. oh well. DD offered to sit on the one bag I got done today in order to get it zipped. it went by itself and only weighs 32lbs. it has all the school supplies in it, lots of pencils & paper. I am going to try to pack the rest of the kids clothes tomorrow. we aren't using much of the light weight stuff right now--except for today which is absolutely beautiful. I kind of hope it will get cold again before we leave.

we have one guy at work who is really picky about this. we can't have a xmas party--it has to be a holiday party or he will not come. we have a diverse group of people at the office who celebrate differently. I am so glad you mentioned this. I would not have even thought about it. I was going to do envelopes for everyone's name tags so I can use the cards for that. :)

Hi everyone. Ernie hadn't really moved since Wednesday, except when we forced him to stand up and go outside. I don't think he was eating either. We decided to take him to the vet this morning. We also decided to bring the kids with us to say goodbye. I told them that the vet was going to send him away so he could feel better (not a lie, right?) but Nick (7 1/2) was a little too smart for that story -- he's really very empathetic -- and started crying when we told him it was time to say goodbye. Which then set me off. I was just fine up until that point. He's still a little sad -- he said "it's hard to say goodbye to an old friend." Ugh. But I think he'll be okay and I felt it was important that we didn't rob the kids of a chance to say goodbye. I think, in a few years, they would have been sad that they didn't get the chance to, otherwise. Sarah doesn't really understand -- she just knows that Ernie was sick and he's gone away. Nick hasn't said the words but I think he knows he's gone. DH and I have made our peace. We went to the gym to workout afterward and I spent a good half hour just sweating it out. I know it was the right thing to do... Ernie had been sleeping on his paws so much the last few days that he was surely going to lose them to gangrene or something. Anyway, thanks for all the well wishes and hugs -- I really appreciate them! I joked to DH that I needed a canine grief counselor, and he said "do you really?" and I said "no, I've got friends on the DIS for that". He said to go ahead and post away!

I was going to ask everyone a favor since the topic has come up.
DMIL - Ken's Mom will be with us on the trip - she is 85. She will be celebrating Hanukkah and since I know there will be an abundance of xmas related things going on - I am sure she would appreciate anyone remembering to wish her a Happy Hanukkah. Hanukkah begins on friday evening, Dec. 15th - the last night of dinner - we have late dining.
You can't miss his mom she is 4'11" - very tiny. and as I said 85. ;) Her name is Martha.
The other thing is that she doesn't see very well so even if she has met you before she will not be able to recognize you unless you are very close. As with most people her age - her hearing is not that great either. Please don't be offended - just introduce yourself again. If you see her and she appears to be lost - she probably is - LOL. Just point her to deck 5.
Other than that she is pretty spry and loves meeting new people, parties, fun, the pool etc.
thanks all.

Hi Joy. Sorry to hear about your "pup". I know what you're going through. We had to put down our four y.o. English Springer last year, two weeks before we left for our cruise. That was tough on all of us.
Here's a pic of our guy.

I'm so sorry! We lost our Lilly last year (as in "lillygator", we still have her pup Gator) but Gator's dad was Ernie (after Earnhardt.....SR)....and he had to be put down this year. He was a Rottie and his hips were so bad he just could not move. He belonged to my mom and stepdad and my stepdad ended up running over his legs as he loved sleeping under his truck. It was an awful awful day. I just wanted you to know my thoughts are with you....and our Ernie was the same age....it hurts...I know. Let me know if you need to talk or anything!

Going to a parade today in Westminster MD...DW found out that they will have Berners in the parade and got the information for us to be in the parade too...Abby loves the attention and always acts differently when she is around other Berners; she just knows that these other dogs are just as goofy as her! Maybe we can get pictures...I need to figure out all the bells and whistles and buttons on our camera to get good pictures - BEFORE the trip.
Ok, we got back from the parade in Westminster.
Joy, read your post about your buddy....very sorry to hear about him...he will be missed. It must be hard to lose a friend that close - its going to be hard when Abby or Casey will reach that point; I don't look forward to it but I know it is something that needs to be accepted. :grouphug:
The parade....
Besides being chilly, it was fun. Abby had a blast. She was just bopping along soaking in all the attention...people were like, what kind of dog is that, she's gorgeous, etc etc. Abby loved it...Kris walked her and Devon was on candy handout duty....I was the supervisor for Devon...."Devon, over there...Devon, kids on the left, Devon keep up...Devon kids on the right..." She had fun too.
So many people came up afterward and wanted to pet her and ask questions (the dog...)...some had never seen a Berner before...It was a good time. The only thing was that the parade ended and no one knew how to get back to the staging area and our cars and it was getting dark...We asked a policeman and he was helpful - we made it!

Love the pictures. Spent the holiday weekend dog-sitting my parents Berner, very sweet dogs.
They are really cool...they are so friendly and lovable...Abby has such a personality that its just funny to look at her, you can imagine what thoughts are going through her head; I wish she could speak... :rotfl: She always has that "I'm a good dog, give me a cheeseburger" look!
The group we were with was another local Berner club. The clubs do what they can to rescue Berners from unfortunate situations and get them new homes. There are some really weird stories behind some of the rescues but they are all good dogs. We went to learn about Abby becoming a therapy dog, who would go into senior homes and schools for troubled kids and mentally retarded, etc institutes...We listened to a speaker a few weeks ago who said its like nothing he's ever seen; the happiness of some of the patients and residents in those places is rewarding....Abby is a jumper sometimes so I worry she may not work out; I think DW thinks she will do fine. She has a lot of growing up to do...she's only 20 mo. old! (Abby, not DW)

I was thinking the same thing Carla - that I was going to cancel the spa treatments because they really are overpriced and I have not gotten the facial I wanted to before the cruise and now I am completely out of time.
and why am spending this crazy amount of money even though this is supposed to be my treat.
we were also thinking of cancelling the catamaran sail because we could have just as much fun driving the jeep around the island for a lot less money and there are other chances to snorkel anyway.
what's this all about? buyer's remorse?

Other than that she is pretty spry and loves meeting new people, parties, fun, the pool etc.
thanks all.

DH hasn't ever said a word about what I have packed. He may have wondered about all of the princess dresses last cruise...there are 6 of them...but seeing DD's face when she got her picture taken with them in costume made him thankful that I did. We drive down & pack a seperate bag to take into the resort with us so that we don't need to mess with the cruise bags. The WDW bags get left in the car while we are on the ship. Maybe it is because this is #4 but I go in expecting at least this....
DH 1 large bag
me 1 large bag
DS & DD 1 large bag
shoes 1 med bag
2 garment bags with dresses each night for DD & me and suits for the guys
2 carry ons (at least)
1 toiletry bag
1 backpack per kid with stuffed animal, blanket, & school work
1 rolling soft sided cooler
I will also have that huge Target bag with the stockings this time. IDK if we are going to take the stroller or not this time. If the kids fall asleep before dinner, DH can just run down to GS to rent one, though it does help with putting everything we carry on someplace. :)

Just curious guys . . .
We have talked an awful lot about photos, but just wondering if anyone is really into video? I am debating whether to take my camcorder too. There are two problems with the camcorder.
1. I cannot operate two cameras at once. Amy will do it for me, but it annoys her.
2. It annoys me to do it too. Somehow when I have the camcorder, I feel "left out" of the action, and it feels like I have some kind of job to do taking footage. Ruins being "in" the experience for me. I don't feel that way with my still camera.
I was erasing stuff off of the computer yesterday and found my iMovie of my stills from our last Disney vacation, and then found out I could export it to my iPod! Whooooo hooooo!
iPod+iMovie= GREAT!

I thought for awhile that I would have to go for the 000 pirate: by myself. I would be a little  embarrassed.
I had to wait until the game was over to join you. :cheer2: :cheer2:

Oh, I misread her. She did come clean! Sorry, Lisa! ;)
I saw the 900 before I signed off though so I really did intend to go to sleep. :) Too much on my mind too. DH called MIL today. She was in the hospital last week getting her kidney tube replaced because it was blocked off. She was very sick from that. :(

John1
We always take ours & it is so much easier with the smaller video camera! :thumbsup2 You didn't see us with the "LIVE AT 11" thing. :lmao: DH has burned all of the tapes to DVD and the kids ask to watch them often. The love watching the sail away party & the shows the most. They will talk about what happened when we watch other things. :) I guess it is worth it to us.

I have a video camera but haven't used it since our first cruise for the very same reason you mentioned. Plus I don't get to see the movies as much as I do my stills.
So I probably will not bring it

I also LOVE the fact that the digital camera can do video clips. There have been many times when I have had that with me & snagged a video of something that happened that I would have missed otherwise. DS's risky business dance on the coffee table to Keep your Head in the Game comes to mind first. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Lisa,
I had to go and lift my mom yesterday because the nurse will not do it when she comes to change her catheter. Having ill parents is really difficult. It is such a role reversal from when we were little. Mom cannot leave her chair in the living room without someone lifting her. Monday I have to get her in a wheelchair and out the door for a doctor visit.

The ipod thing must be nice, but you know what I learned today, I learned how to rip music off the c.d. onto the computer. That was big deal for me. I just got the boys 1gb mp3s for the trip and had to figure out how to put music on them. Know I need to down that country song I got a brand new girlfriend for Spencer and put it on as it is his fav. song.
Now if only I could figure out how to put all these kodak pic off my laptop onto the thumbdrive I could reboot it tomorrow. I'll have to work on that one later tonight.

I wish that we lived closer so that we could actually help them. There is no way that we could have gone to see her this weekend. We are a ticking time bomb around her with all of these germs. :( We didn't even know that she had a problem until DH called her today to check on her. She doesn't want to worry anyone. OY BOY! :sad2:

NO I havent got the docks. I called costco last wed and told then I still havent gotten then and then asked them to send them to the resort for me. I thought we shouldnt get any though becouse I did all the stuff on line.
Also anyone know. My TA has messed up a few times the latest time being even after I sent her copies of our flight stuff she had DSD on our ressies instead of DH, then when she fixed it she still has him coming in the same day as us and he isnt coming in tell the 2nd. Is this going to matter with ME. Do I need to call them and change it. His laugage tags even say her name and the ta said we will not get new ones. I figure I will just cross out her name and write his. Then we have gotten nothing about our stay after the cruise, Hello where is our paper work for that one. Not happy about it.
