I think we will wing it mostly, except for trying to get a few Princess photo ops.
Mostly, the kids will want to play in the pool, I'm pretty sure. They will also love the club, as they are constantly bugging us to go to the gym every day so they can go to the kids club.
We won't be bringing many toys as we will probably pick up some at WDW the week before. DS just needs his GameBoy to keep himself entertained, and DD likes to draw and color. We will pick up sand toys at WDW (staying at BCV) and bring them with us to the ship. Leaving them at CC is a great idea as I am already worried about suitcase space.

this way the entire DIS group can also check up on you once we board - like we could say hey Brandi did you forget to bring hair clips?
KWIM?
Or maybe we can all pack extra of the stuff others worry about forgetting. Like, "Brandi, I have extra hair clips if you forgot them." "Angie, extra lime green shirts here incase you forgot yours." :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

so Becka, if we have 15 regular posters (approx.) and 30 days left to get to 60,000 - how many would we need to post per day so that we hit it.
we can have John1 develop a contract to all commit to 20 posts per day. Just quickly ballparking it with no other factors thrown in there - we should just about make it by cruise day.

I think I may raid my Grandma's closet for some shoes. Now before you go making wise cracks...this is the woman Haley gets her shoe fetish from. My Grandma will only wear 3 inch heels and they are all pretty darn stylish and sexy.
Last time she came to Epcot with us I think it was a tad cold and she walked around in 3 in skinny heeled boots!
I think I am beginning to freak out. As I have been packing I realize there are clothes for everyone but me! I don't even have a new swimsuit! Oh my!

I forgot to mention this morning that when I went to put Allie down for bed last night she gathered up her puppies and headed for her crib. When I put her in I noticed her binky must have fallen behind the crib but I didn't go looking for it. I just tucked her in as usual and then left thinking that as usual within 30 seconds she would start asking for her binky. I heard silence. She went to sleep without the binky! :woohoo: I am hoping she can do it a few more nights and the maybe they can disappear forever without too much crying. :thumbsup2

Tonight is supposed to be Samantha's dance class. I am thinking of pulling her out (yes quitting)....something major happened at the studio (not sure what) but the director has left to open her own studio.
This class in particular the director was supposed to teach - and she is AWESOME! But she has only taught it twice since August. They have had a different teacher every other time. For the little ones not in daycare it has been pretty hard for them to go in without major coaxing from the parents.
They are not learning anything except to count beats and pretty much have fun with music which is FINE, but I initially was looking for something for Samantha to burn off some energy and have fun and the class is only a 1/2 hour. Usually starting 5 min late and ending 5 min early.
IDK, I don't want her to get the message that we are "quitters", but I don't feel we are getting anything worth out of it for the money it is costing.

OK....thought you people would enjoy these. They are spoof movie trailers for movies, changing the theme to something unexpected. Some are combinations of two movies...For example, The Shining turned into a comedy...

Tickets go on Sale November 18 for the January Cleveland Show . . . they were passing out leaflets at Cheetah - but I am soooooo bummed - no Troy!
It WAS really funny all the moms commenting on no dads at Cheetah. The mom behind me (while Amy and Sophia left the seats to shop) mentioned "see suzy, there ARE some dads here" I turned around and said, yeah, but not that many! She said "Yeah, I guess you are a little outnumbered".
Well, at least there are short lines at the men's room . . . although I remember going to concerts in my college days where women used the men's room because of long lines . . . wonder if that happened last night?
(I did not venture out - didn't want to miss a cheetah minute!)

This is just something I thought about last night while going to sleep but so many of us scrap...maybe we can use PJ's yahoo group to encourage each other to get this cruise scrapped? Can you post pictures on it or is there another site that would work better for that. I know that one group of friends who have left the deal board I was on now post as a group on gather.com. You can post pictures there. I haven't scrapped our 2nd or 3rd cruise so I could use the encouragement...as well as someone to answer to. ;)

ok this is a neurotic question -
but can any experienced cruiser give me what your typical day at sea is.
It would be helpful if PJ, Angie and some families chimed in so I could see the different perspectives - single, w/kids, empty nesters etc.
How do you start your day? what do you like to do during the day - review navigators, wing it? etc.
In what subtle ways is it different from a port day. Like I know I will not be doing .........
just curious. no experience here.
thanks so much.

I love the sea days. They are very relaxing. There are lots of things to do, from movies to classes. We enjoy sitting at the Cove Cafe and playing Skip Bo over a couple of Mochas, or Cognacs. Makes a good day for Spa apointments. The pools. Napping in a chair on Deck 4. On our first cruise we attended an Inprov Comedy Class. That was AWESOME!. Let the Personal Navigator be your guide.
See Sample Navigator. Learn to make a dessert. Karaoke. etc., ad infinitum.

I'm jumping around because I haven't had a chance to read in ages.
John - sorry to hear about the levy. We have the same issue and so does my sister. "I've raised my kids" vs. "I have kids now" The fundamental issue that everyone forgets is the community aspect. Yes, your kids have been raised but when they were younger they did have these things and it does effect your property value to have a good school district because when you retire that is your additional savings. It is shocking how ugly it becomes though...and it becomes a "that's your problem" not a community problem.
John you've done Cheetalicious (loved the photos!) are you ready for High School Musical? I posted that their concert is coming. You can do it again!
Suzanne, I haven't caught up on all but  pixiedust:
Okay back to reading. I'm trying to skim but when an older post is referenced I need to go back anyway - I just need to find out where I left off. I think I'm hesitant to do that because it will be gads of pages.
oops, sorry Karen I should have split this all up...right?! :confused3

I haven't scrapped our 2nd or 3rd cruise so I could use the encouragement...as well as someone to answer to. ;)
I am trying to learn this scrapping business because I was volunteered for something ???? to do with it. I would be glad to help out with some good advice from somewhere. Most of the web sites seem to be ALL WOman web sites. ??? Pretty Scary. DOn't want Cappy and John makin' fun of me. :rotfl:
Adobe has a book making service. I put 5 on ....oh, it wasnt that kinfd of book making. Anyway, I think they bind picture pages into book form for a reasonable fee per book. Or do you just post or e-mail pages for everyone to assemble themselves??

Keep in mind I worked the xmas tree lot the entire xmas season in '04 (aside from the one week we went to WDW instead of cruising since I was pregnant and had to CHANGE).....and belly sticking out and all I never complained nor had a problem opening 800 trees for customers. We have three super skinny fake trees that the lights stay on permantly. We put them in the corner and they make up just as much "eye candy" without taking up as much floor space. Floor space is a premium in our living room. We like them because they stay assembled and lit all year long and we just tote them from the basement to the LR in one carry.
I'm a little worried this year though. We have two kittens in the house. I have a feeling the trees are going to spend a lot of time on the floor. Rule for this year "No Breakable Ornaments."
Now for my dirty little secret. I never took down the Dept 56 Snow Village last year. So it's still in the china cabinet and ready to plug back in.

I had it appraised and the value was 3 times what he paid for it. :thumbsup2 One of the diamonds fell out and I took it in for reair/replace. Got a call yesterday that is is back and there is NO CHARGE. Wow! I was fully expecting to pay for a new diamond since I had it for so long and I had not had the prongs tightened like I should have. Definately neglect on my part is why the diamond fell out. Anyway, nice bonus there and I am :) camper.

Nathan and I had our lunch date and we had a great time. I am really glad I took him out and I hope he will start feeling a little better. I sometimes forget that each of my kids really needs some time alone having fun with just one of us occasionally. He was having a really good morning at school so that was great news. I let him pick the place and he of course picked McDonald’s and he was so thrilled to hear that we could eat inside. He loves to eat inside fast food restaurants but 98% of the time we just do drive thru so this was a treat. He picked us a nice table by the window (Mom, you can see the McDonalds’ sign from in here. ;) ). We enjoyed out lunches and then we stopped to get him a chocolate milkshake at the frozen custard place. He only finished about a ¼ of it but we were able to put the rest in the daycare’s freezer so we can take it home this evening. I think it put us both in a better mood. Nathan drives me crazy but he really is a great, fun-loving kid.

Becka - that's awesome!! He'll go back for the afternoon fine? I know Haley would not but Samantha probably would. You are right, I think one on one time does wonders for them. It seems sometimes I don't have enough arms and legs....I get the "you love Haley more than me" bit, if I am carrying her around....I tell her my heart is big enough for her, Haley and daddy...
I have to sneak in and out the daycare because if Allie sees me then we have a big problem. She would expect to go home with me. Nathan does fine. He wanted me to not go back to work and spend the whole afternoon with him but I couldn't so he understood. I did tell him right up front he was coming back after our lunch and he was fine with it. I think I do sometimes forget that because Nathan can do so much more for himself that he does feel like we love Allie more than him because she takes more of our time. I think things like this really help.

Everyone has been chatty today! I love it! This group is way too much fun! :thumbsup2
Becka, this brought back such good memories for me. Our DS (who is now 28) and I would go to McD's every two weeks when he was 2-3 yo when we would pick up Daddy's check and go deposit it. (We lived before direct deposit! ;) ) He would get a happy meal and I would have chicken nuggets and ice tea - every time. He still remembers those outings with Mom and what we had to eat and he was just a little guy. He was #3 and it is sometimes hard to remember individual time for each, but it obviously meant alot to him. We talked about this recently. :goodvibes

There are several dresses I want to order off the internet. Trouble is the size...I am not sure if they will fit or how they will hang. I don't usually order clothes for myself but these are great buys on dressy dresses.
Can you post a link, V?Exactly what I was going to ask. I've been looking on Nordstroms and Neiman Marcus.

I think I just may have made a big mistake. This morning I was checking the prices of the cruise again and noticed that the category 12 went down to only $1282.16, this price does not include transfers or insurance. Paul and I originally booked at category 7 and paid $3058 for it. So, i was thinking of switching us to save us some money. Well, I called costco and they quoted me the $1282.16 price, so I said sure, go ahead and switch us. Well, after she switched us she came back on the phone and said costco could only guarantee the amount of $1882 for the cruise and the rest of the savings would be up to the DCL accounting department. I was so angry as I told her we were only going to do it if we got the $1282 price. So, I am sitting at work just wanting to fall over right now. The money is a huge savings and it will pay off my car, which will be nice becuase we want to start looking for new homes.
Anyways, I emailed costco telling them how upset I was with the travel agent and that I was quoted the one price and was given the other. I know that they don't have to honor anything after the final payment is due, but I told her only if it was the cheaper price. So now, I just hope i didn't mess up our trip.

Vanessa, they play at Epcot - Canada. They are an amazing band - Bagpipe rock and roll! DrHug has all their CDs. Another story with those of excellent customer service. He bought 2 CDs while there in 2004, then we did the 10 day cruise, and somewhere in all that we lost the CDs. We called BCV and asked of they had been turned into lost and found. Nope, but the very, very sweet gal who talked to DrHug for hours about everything including the CDs went to the Canada pavillion and got 2 CDs and sent them to him. We lost them somewhere, but she still replaced them free. :goodvibes

Adobe has a book making service. I put 5 on ....oh, it wasnt that kinfd of book making. Anyway, I think they bind picture pages into book form for a reasonable fee per book. Or do you just post or e-mail pages for everyone to assemble themselves??
I wasn't talking about that, Dennis. :) I think that we had considered doing a group online scrapbook. I am talking about those of us who still do the scrapping by hand. It wouldn't be a circle or swap. Just a group encouraging each other to get our cruise scrapbook done and exchange ideas.

:thumbsup2

Jodie - hope it all works out. That just doesn't make any sense why they did that.

on the canon xti, thanks
There is a 100mm Canon lens that focuses as close as 1 inch! A little pricey but it looks like a good lens. I was tempted.
