Allie is doing better but we forgot her antibiotics last night and again this morning. Plus the meds didn't get to daycare so she will miss 24 hours of medicine. I hope we don't set her back. Her nose finally has cleared up. Last night was the first time she went to bed without a decongestant in over two weeks.

I went home yesterday and got all of the stuff ready for those Mickey burgers so all DH had to do was throw them on the grill. Before DH even gets home with the kids my BF from Kansas City calls and tells me they are going to be in town within the hour and wanted to know if we could get together.

I ended up quickly making a cheese quesadilla for DS and DD to share so they could eat dinner and we packed the kids up and headed over to Bonkers to play. DH took DD home about 8:00 which is way past her bedtime but she had fun. She was just too tired to continue. I stayed with DS until they closed at 9:00 so he could play some more with my BF's boys.

Sounds like fun! I miss my BF. :guilty: I can't even call her in the morning now because she is 3 hours behind...

Since I didn't eat anything for dinner I was starving by about 8:00 so I headed to the snack bar at Bonkers...lots of healthy choices there. Anyway I ended up ordering the jalapeno poppers and just this morning figured up the points. At appoximately 4 points a piece with 7 pieces they were 28 points! Ouch! Of course then I used just a little ranch dressing with them so there was another 4 points. It was a good thing I still had 19 points left yesterday before that snack and I still had all of my flex points!

It looks like we are going to the KC Renaissance Festival this weekend and we may end up staying with DH's parents. If we do we will go to his parents on Friday night, go to Ren Fest on Saturday, stay at DH's parents Sat. night and come back on Sunday. We will probably miss 30,000. :(

I am with you Lisa - I have never had anything dry in the crock pot! :confused3

I've had things come out dry quite often. I think it's if I cook it on high for too long or use too large of a crockpot. I bought a smaller one and it seems to work better when I make the chicken breasts. Also cooking on low helps.

My DD might want to chat too.
Bring her on! I'm going to feel safer with my DD doing E-mails than Disboarding (too public). I'll try to get her to Email some kind of opening to your girl at your address tonight.

I almost said oh I'll just wait since I was feeling better and then started feeling crappy again and guess what the visit showed..drum roll...pneumonia.

I'm so glad you went! That happened to me once. I had this really awful cough that I couldn't shake but I kept ignoring it, figuring it would finally let up but I broke out in this really bad case of hives. These hives were bigger than 50 cent pieces and they itched so bad that DH finally told me to go to quick care. While there the doctor heard me cough and insisted on a chest xray and found pneumonia! Scary stuff.

I'm glad you're on the mend now. :goodvibes

Oh and may I just say Z-pak bites the big one. I know this stuff works but the side effects - I thought I'd have at least a day. It's like add insult to injury.

:sad2: I have such a hard time on antibiotics. If it's your stomach make sure to eat a little something when you take it and eat lots of yogurt while you're on it.

Pj, You can get a few foils done at any salon (try 10 to start) and that will give you alot of blond highlight and look really natural as it grows in. It will look great with your now darker hair.

DD and I have been getting highlights for about 4-5 yrs now and it really adds some depth/illusion of volume (through color variation) to hair.

Kristin, I don't need no more volume. Oy! I have so much hear with a wave and it is fine, so If I were to blow dry it, it takes 45 mins. So I don't. It goes up in a twist held by a clip and dries naturally. You will get to see the puffy hair on the cruise, lol  .

Every 6 months my salon has a free highlight special, just foils on top, and I have chickened out twice, but will get a cut in October and get the highlights this time.

Well I was hoping my car would be ready to pick up around lunch but I just called and it sounds like it will be later today. I guess that means I am doing lunch here at work. I know I need to be good today so maybe I will just grab a salad.

I am getting a bit of a headache and I am not real sure why. I only had about ½ can of Diet Pepsi this morning so maybe I just need some more caffeine or maybe it is just a hunger headache.

When I got home last night I did watch that Brothers & Sisters show that was on after DH. It was pretty interesting but I spent the first 45 minutes just trying to keep everyone straight. I am still not sure I have everyone straight. It was interesting enough that I think I will at least record it this next week to watch. If it is a good show and if I continue to watch Studio 60 that will mean that I will have added 2 new hours of TV each week! :faint: Of course since they put My Name is Earl on against Survivor that is actually ½ hour less so my net would still be 90 minutes additional per week.

Did anyone mention that we only have 73 days left until we cruise? It is actually getting close enough that I am thinking I need to come up with some way to let the kids “count” down the days. I was thinking of a paper chain or something that they could tear off each night or maybe a sticker chart with 70 boxes and they can put a Disney sticker on each night? We all know it can’t be anything too crafty! :lmao:

I was thinking about getting the blonde highlights in my hair again just before we cruise. I am going to be at the salon a lot before the cruise. I want my hair done plus I have my birthday manicure/pedicure. :)

funny girl!!

and back to the hair. Used to be during the summer, mine would get blonde streaks all on its own....now that I have to be a grown up and have a job, not so much.

Same here, it was family thing. I go them around the face. My older cousin got a streak down the underside at the back, looked very cool in a ponytail.

So there is another one who does not like bones in their food. DH is like that. He claims he can't figure out how to get the meat off the bones. I just think it is laziness! I really just cannot understand this for the life of me and it makes grocery shopping much more expensive when you can only buy boneless chicken breasts rather than just getting a chicken.
It isn't lazinesss....who on earth wants to see a nasty bone on their plate!

It was not good! In the past I always followed the point ranges but the new plan gives you one set point target for each day and then you get 35 "flex" points to use throughout the week as you want or as you need in my case. ;) You can use a few everyday or just blow them all at once if you want to splurge. Everyone gets these 35 points so I took a big chunk out of mine for the week.

Yes we just started a WW at Work so my meetings are on Mondays. I am not discouraged (yet!). I am just glad the flex points are there. Because I splurged yesterday it just means I will have less to splurge on at the Ren. Fest. I really want a funnel cake and I think my book said a 6 inch one was 7 points. Of course then you have to have a little sugar with that but I have 22 flex points left for this week so as long as I stick to my target points the rest of the week I should be fine.

Does not make me feel any fuller but it does taste soooo good. ;) Actually they gave me this huge tub of dressing and I very sparingly used it. I counted it as a serving (2 T.) at 4 points but I honestly doubt I used a full 2 T of dressing.

Of course then you have to have a little sugar with that but I have 22 flex points left for this week so as long as I stick to my target points the rest of the week I should be fine.

Good luck! I know you can do it. :thumbsup2

I made a frozen pork roast today with carrots, garlic powder, and water. It was great. We just made a side of mashed potatoes. I think I am going to make a boneless turkey breast for tomorrow. I love my crock!!!! I am so happy we passed along the frozen meat in the crock to you Lisa. It is so much easier!!!

Well, it would have been easier if I had remembered to put it together this morning. I was at school in the middle of setting up the book fair & remembered OOPS!!! I didn't know what I was going to do until they announced that it was CiCi's night....problem solved. :thumbsup2

DDs have a few BABs, but they don't really play with them. Actually DD3 doesn't have one. Hmmmm... But DD just got her room "Tinked" so she would love that outfit. DD7 wants an Ariel room and DD3 is in love with Cinderella right now. Now if we could just get to the mall I could surprise them with a trip to BAB and I could get them the outfits for Christmas!!

The shipping charges are really low on the BAB website. We can't go to one nearby so I am ordering them.

Good news on the dryer, Lisa!

Not so good news for us today with DrHug's car. Been having a really bad smell, odd sound, now engine light was on. It is at the dealer and the manifold is cracked...Kia has 100,000 mile warranty and that is covered since he is at 96,000 (whew!) , but some sensor is also burned out, and two smog thingys are bad. Those are not under warranty so our part of the bill is $2400. OY! Well, cheaper than new wheels for him though. I did tell him to ask dealer to call Kia and ask if they will cover the smog thinkys because they said that the cracked manifold COULD have caused them to go bad or it could have been vise versa. (cost of those two parts is $1800!!) In my VA world all I need a doc to say to get benefits for a veteran is "as likely as not." So, he called and they said they would ask Kia, but......

It isn't lazyness, and I do eat meat with bones. T-bone, Ribeye, Porkchops. I just can't figure out how to eat birds.

Well, up till now our pre cruise plans have been to drive as far as we can get after school on Friday, stop over at an el cheapo hotel in north Fla Friday night, then complete the drive on Saturday morning.

So, DH says to me earlier this week he thinks he can make it all the way to Orlando Friday evening so why don't we make reservations at an All Star? HA! I've been trying. Why didn't any of you tell me that you have to take a blood test to find out availability there? Yikes! Anyhow, we are settled with a room at Best Western on Hotel Plaza. Don't look for us at Jellyrolls however, I still don't expect us to get there before midnight.

Love it Becka!

When I used to listen to local sports talk a lot on lunch (do any of you listen to Jim Rome?), all the commercials were for beer, viagra (or fake substitutes), male enhancement herbs, baldness cures, online gambling, and strip clubs. I figured the only people listening were impotent bald men with small swords drinking beer in strip clubs while they played poker on their computers.

So I stopped listening. I honestly DID get sick of all those commercials.

Public radio is much better . . .

I don't mind cutting around the bones in pork chops, etc. - and I give them a WIDE berth . . . I think the bones make it too REAL to me that this was actually a living thing that I am eating. I am not a vegetarian (but if I toured a stockyard I probably would become one).

I also am very picky about fat on my meat, or skin on chicken too. I guess that is good - I don't like all the bad for you stuff.

I didn't say it worked for me today.

In the past when we had short notice we have been able to book by calling first thing in the morning where we did not have any luck for days prior.

The booking more than 1 day used to be a trick I read about on here before. There seemed to be rooms available occasionally for people wanting more than one night but not for just one night. Disney wants people in their resorts to stay longer - it appeared to give a little bit of preferential treatment to those wanting to book a longer stay on occassion - especially on weekends.

Also when packages become due at 45 days out I would make sure to be on the phone early that morning because then there will likely be some cancellations.

A few tips on getting a room at a value resort.

#1 Always call the moment they open because reservations cancelled the day before don't seem to show up in the system until the next day.
#2 Lie and say you want more than 1 night - tell them you want to book 3 nights. If available book it and then call the next day to cancel the other two nights.
I will pass that on to my DMIL! Thanks Becka!

Just caught up. Girls had piano and viola lessons tonight, so I Tivo'd Dancing with the Stars and watched it at 9:30 instead.

Now for my bid for the worst mom in the world award...
At back to school night last week, DD8's teacher gave each of us a large yellow star. We were to take it home, think about what makes our child special, come up with 5 special traits and write them in each point of the star. Then add the child's photo in the middle; decorate if you're crafty. The teacher is putting them up in the room so your child can see it if she needs a lift.... and we were to hand it in by Monday the 25th. And I totally forgot to do it. DD saw me looking at it tonight and said "I was wondering why I didn't have a star on the door!"

Yikes. I'm now crafting a colorful, glittery star for my creative, smart, energetic, happy, fun daughter!!

We spent one night in that Best Western year before last. It was very nice.

I am so glad things worked out with your new pool. How is the water color these days?

the water has stabalized and now looks like the "caribbean, love"! The paver people are coming to meet with us Friday evening I think. I am not sure what can be done at this point. The ones they replaced due to cracks, etc are now toe stubbers. What a headache this has been. This is my first experience with any sort of work being done/contracting. I dread anything further.
