A new hello - with a band question

Hello to all you Disney fans out there!! I'm new to the DISboards, but have been to Disney twice before. First time was in 80s as a graduation present and then again in 2004 with DH and three DS's. What a blast that was! We are headed back this June with oldest DS HSBand. We will be with them one week and then will another week after the band leaves. :cool1:

I can not tell you how excited we are to be able to see DS marching down Main Street in MK!!!! :rockband:

Was wondering if any other DISers have done this and if so can you give any advice as to anything I should be sure to do or any certain place I should stand to get best pic??

Both our children got the opportunity to do this on separate occasions and both we memorable events. We visited WDW many times before this and just seeing the Electric Parade come down Main Street, no matter how many times you've seen it, just brings goose bumps, now to watch your children participate in the band march is priceless. I know both our children, now grown, will never forget that experience. Take many snap shots and be sure to take movies, have your battery charged, a spare one too and we liked the view from the train station, you're up high and have a good shot up Main Street and around the circle at the flag pole. Something never to miss.

Thanks everyone for the welcomes and info! Mapping out my picture taking strategy for the march! We are picture takers here. Last time we went to Disney for 7 days and took 900 pics. :rolleyes1 I'm sure well hit way over that this time! Only used 300 for the scrapbook though! :laughing:

We love our band and I know they will always remember this adventure!

Hi There!

Our high school band goes to Disney every 4 years. Our oldest son is now in high school and we are participating in this for the first time! The band gets to march down Main Street at MK (while playing). I really don't have any more information than that, but I know it is not just our school that does this. Schools from all over have participated.

We live in Arkansas btw. DS15 plays percussion, DS13 plays trumpet and DS10 will play percussion when it's his turn. Our bands are award winning in Arkansas, although that doesn't have anything to do with going to Disney - I'm just bragging a bit because I AM a band mom and am so proud of all the band members! :cheer2:
