These are adorable. I'm going to print them right now. I just happen to have a bag of Hershey's nuggets. Just one quick question.....do I need to cut out the head and feet? I thought that's what it looked like but I wasn't sure. Do you think you could do any other characters?

Sorry I didn't read the directions closely enough. I see that I have to cut them out.

Ok I just printed them out and have already assembled 3 of them. They turned out even cuter than I imagined. I'm going to give one to my kids each day or evening. I have a request though. Could you make something likea little card, maybe a little bigger than a business card? I want to attach the candy bar on the left side of the card and have a little message on the right side. I just wanted them to say Have a great day or Good night with the characters signature. Does this even make sense?:confused3 I've probably rambled too much.

Here are the requested cards for six of the nugget characters. I used a template that was the size of the Altoids tin, but they look quite a bit larger...Hmm....If you need them right away, you may wish to resize them. I'll try to do that for you later tonight....

:cheer2: Those are just like I wanted. I wouldn't worry about taking the time to resize them. They look great to me. One last question, is there any way to make the characters for a pack of gum? The heads and feet are OK. I think the bodies just need to be a little longer and maybe a little bit thinner. I think I'm goning to wrap the gum longways. It will look kind of like a Pez dispenser.

telynn, These are great. I am going to have to try them this weekend. What is even better is that Dh and I are Altoid lovers. I always buy the Disney tin for trips. Now I don't have to I can use these labels.Killed two birds with on stone. :lmao: Now for the request, do you have any with Tinkerbell or the Disney Princess for girls? No rush if you can do them. We are going for the summer. Thanks

I hadn't planned on the princesses or Tinkerbell as being "human" they may not look as good. I am willing to give it a go, however.

Someone please make these & post a picture! I think they're really cute, but I have absolutely no visualization skills!
What are you all doing with these exactly? Are you using them as a countdown, small 'Tink' gifts, thank you tokens or what? I think it would be fun to leave them along with a tip at the restaurants, but I really don't want to carry chocolate around the parks all day in June! :rotfl: Any other ideas?

I leave my Ds what we call Tinkerbell kisses or sprinkles of pixie dust. The Tinkerbell kisses are for bedtime. They are left on the pillow. The Sprinkles of pixie dust are for when he is feeling down or can be rewarded for a good day.
Now that I am thinking about it I can do this for Dh also on our trip.
Just an idea of how to use them.
Telynn
04-12-2008, 03:05 PM
Personally, I'm designing them for fun! Eventually I'll use them for a party for my niece. My first post has a image of how to assemble.
Basically you take the long strip and wrap around the Hershey Nugget (may also work with Nestle Treasures, Lifesave mini roll, or single chunk of gum like hubba bubba) then secure with double sided tape. Use the "heart" shape for the character's feet (again secure with tape) and secure the character face on the wide side of the candy.
I'm still working on finding a template for making the body using a 5-stick pack of gum. If anyone has a template for this size of candy, I would LOVE to have a copy. (Thank you!)

I just wanted to let you know I made a character with one of the gum wrappers and it worked great. It looks so cute. I made the feet out of cardstock to help it stand up. I can't wait for my parents to see them. It's so hard to keep all of this cute stuff a secret. Would you be able to make the gum wrappers in Donald, Daisy & Goofy? That should be it. Telynn,
The cards and the character wrappers are so cute. I also like the mint wrappers. If you have a chance to make any more of the mint designs, I would appreciate it. Do you know if the characters are able to accept gifts when we meet them and get their autographs? If so, I would love to give them the little mint wrapped up, choclate would melt and the mint book would be easy to carry around. I don't know how long it takes you to do these and I certainly don't want to ask for too much. The main ones would be Mickey, Minnie, Cinderella, Ariel and Buzz. Oue trip is not until September, so no rush at all. If this is too much and you don't have time, I totally understand.
Thanks again!

I don't know if the characters are able to accept gifts. If no one else here knows the answer, you may wish to ask on the "Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies" section of the DISboard.
I'll try to get these completed tonight...

Sure, since they do take a bit of time the first time, I'll actually get to these tomorrow. I'll do both the nuggets and the gum. So I can prioritize, do are you looking for the Disney characters dressed in Star Wars Costumes or the actual SW Characters?

Good morning Telynn,
I am so happy you like them, they were so much fun to make. I stayed up til 2am working on them :scared1: cuz I was having so much fun making them. They were pretty easy to make, I think my 4 year old boys would even be able to help make them.
The sizes of the images worked good for me. the gum body wrapper, just fit over Juicy Fruit gum. The Nugget body wrapper was a little too long, so I cut it down by an inch.
I was thinking it might be cute to leave one for mouskeeping everyday along with my mouskeeping tip envelope.
Thank again :thanks:for creating these

From what I understand from those that printed the nuggets and the gum wrappers they are close to the correct size. The nugget strip is about 1" longer than needed. This will give you some playing room for the DISign. The gum wrapper is exactly the size you need to wrap the 5-stick pack.

I'm thinking these would be great for the kids to wake up to in the morning this summer at disneyland...
now, I just have to get them there, unmelted, driving from KS, that might be tricky.
maybe we can just wake up to them here in the house, instead.

I've printed some gum wrappers but they are short going around the pack of gum. It is short about 3/8" and no allowance to glue. Why am I coming up short? I actually resized it to 6.25" X 4.167"(it automatically made it that number). Is it only supposed to wrap around 3 sides and then trim off the extra? HELP!! I am trying to get these done tonight but after printing them off and not trying any of them first, I'm messed up!
Thanks!!

Hmm....the gum wrapers are sized to fit the 5 pk, but no glue flap--double side tape is used to secure. Which ones are you using and I'll try to resize them a bit and include enough for a glue strip.

I've added an "invisible" glue strip to all of the Fab 5 gum sticks but they are still coming up about 3/8" short. They aren't even close to touching each other. I just made them 7 inches tall and they fit perfectly around the gum sticks but I then had to cut some of the height off. Strange....it adds another step. Plus I've printed several pages! Yikes! Can you tell me what the height and width are when you go to print? I'm printing in Photoshop. They come up 4 X 6 automatically. Is this the size that you show when you print? Why am I having to enlarge to fit around the gum sticks but then the height is almost 1/2 too large?
What is going on? Maybe those of you who have made them could help me out!!! Thanks so much in advance!!
I'm trying to make a set for my mom who flies back home tomorrow!! Just a little pressure!:scared1:

I'm not sure what is happening to the gum character as I am using a template. Fran stated that the size was just barely big enough. I just went through and resized both the width of the gum wrapper strip and the overall size of the images (now 4.5 x 6.5). You may need to trim, but it's better to be a bit larger than have the coverage problem. I hope to be able to actually make these myself tomorrow. Thank you for your patience!

I know I am a little late commenting. I printed the wrappers for the gum exactly the same size as Telynn created them and the size was a perfect fit. What kind of gum are you using? I used Juicy Fruit and Extra berry fruit flavor. As I stated in my previous post, it was a tight fit. I just used a tape runner as the adhesive and ran the tape along both sides of the back of the gum. There was no overlapping of the wrapper.
Hope you got yours to work. Your mom is going to love them, they are just so adorable.

I made my first few nuggets the other night and they turned out GREAT! I taped the heads to the top of the nugget (flat) instead of upright to make sure they would still look the same when I send them to my mom in her basket. They look really cute flat like that as well. I'm with the pp who said her DH just rolled his eyes at her. Mine does the same and says..."You are such a geek-but you're my geek!". :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Telynn,
If you would like to, and ONLY if you would enjoy it :), is there any way you could do a few of the mint wrappers that say something other than Thanks? Maybe have a good day, or Disney 2008, or something (I really don't have a specific preference)? I'd like to add these to my family suprise gifts for our September trip. If you have to pass on doing this, I can probably figure something out with a text box in Word. :thumbsup2

I print everyday from Photoshop. I can't figure out why they won't fit. I have tried checking to see if adjusts the size but it doesn't. I printed it larger (7" instead of 6") and that fits really snug and then have to cut off the top. Now my tape runner isn't holding! I woke up this morning and they had all popped! Maybe I need to walk away from these for a few days and come back to them!

Hi Telynn
I'm from the UK and we don't have Hershey's nuggets:sad1: However, I have discovered that the mint wrappers are perfect for covering our little treat size bags of Cadbury's buttons.
I am travelling to the World with 2 friends and between us we will have 3 children (2 boys and a girl). I wanted to leave buttons wrapped in your beautiful disigns as a daily gift. To this end, I wonder, if you're not too busy, whether you could do me 4 more boys disigns for the mint covers (eg. Donald, Wallee, Aladdin, Peter Pan or whatever you think) and 4 more girls disigns (eg SnowWhite, Belle, Giselle, Jasmine or again, whatever you think). It would be great if you could leave them blank as I think I can add my own messages (I hope!).
I realise you are busy so don't worry if this is not possible, but I would be so grateful.
any thanks for sharing your time and talent:flower3:

Hey Telynn,
This are the cutest, I am doing some for my grandsons birthday party tomorrow with "Cars". I have one more request I am doing a bridal shower for my very special neice, I love the mickey and minnie bridal. What I need "pretty please" is Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. We are doing the shower with that theme and having chocolate bouquets and a chocolate fountain. I would love to do favors with the mint matchbook cover and nuggets and I also want to do a candy bar wrapper with a gold ticket for a door prize. Can you help me out with this? My neice loves all things involving movies and characters and chocolate, she would get a hoot out of this. I even thought about surprising her and coming out as one of the characters, some of my other relatives would think I had lost my mind but this is about her not them.
Thanks Dean

I made some of the mint wrappers today and have put personal messages on them (such as the person's name, or a message about the day). Instead of mints, I'm putting 3 sticks of gum (secured by placing a strip on double sided tape on the cardstock and sticking the gum to it) in the adults and I'll probably put a tiny pack of goldfish or some other very small single serve snack in the ones for our kids. Just wanted to add another idea! :) I'm having WAY too much fun with this!:rotfl:

I printed mine in Word (don't have photo shop or anything), and they are about 3" x 4" folded. They are much bigger than a match book. And I'm talking about the TINY snack sizes...like for toddlers and such. It may not close very easily due to the tickness of the snacks (depending on what I try). I haven't tried to put on in yet. Using Word I can make them larger or smaller by resizing the overall image if I need to. Are mine printing larger than everyone elses? I like the size of them.

Telynn,
I would like to make another request. I see alot of people are doing Cars themed birthday parties. I am having one as well.
Could you create the nugget strips as roads and the heads as Cars characters. Instead of feet, maybe make tires for the sides of the nugget.
Thank you so much!
Wendy
I did both the road strip and the body color...I hope the tires work!

What program are you using to print the image? Are you pasting the image into MS Word? If so, since the size of the image is 3.28" x 9", you can only get 3 images on a page if you turn your page to "Landscape".

Thanks for the mint wrappers and for changing the Giselle one for me. I love the cards that go with the nuggets and I have decided I would like to leave one of these with the treats from each character. If you would not mind could you please disign a card from Lightening saying something like ' Dreams, I am dreams!' with his signature, and a Walle one with just his signature. I will add a quote with Paint after the film is released and I have an idea what he might say:rotfl: I know I am asking a lot of you and cannot thank you enough for your contribution to making the magic happen for our children:flower3:

Could I request the nuggets with a cruise theme? Any characters will be great. (I will be using the pirate mints as well!)
Also, this is my big special request. We are having a big family reunion in December and calling it "Christmas Safari" We are staying at Animal Kingdom Villas and I want to have lots of special treats. Would you be able to design mint wraps, nuggets, and life saver wrappers with a safari theme that would also say Merry Christmas or Christmas Safari 2008?
I am so NOT talented when it comes to these things and am so grateful for all the work you do.:worship:
Thank you,

I will try to get to the nuggets as soon as I can. They do take a while to create and I have a list of nugget cards to complete.
Since there is more time for the Christmas Safari items, I'll just add them to my list. (I'll do both a Christmas and non-Christmas version). I don't have the template or measurements for the Life Savers, but I'll see what I can find.

I looked through the thread & don't remember seeing any Toy Story characters like Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Jessie, Mr. & Mrs. PotatoHead?? If you get a chance, could you possibly design a couple of those? If not, there's plenty of cute one's to choose from! Hi Telynn! I was wondering if you could fix a little typo on the Mickey and Minnie cruise ones above. Crusin' is actually Cruisin or Cruising. Just missing the "i." If I created like you, I'd be missing a few marbles in my head because Photoshop and I don't get along!:rotfl: Thanks!!

Could you make a mintcover for the Fab5? You don't have to put any writing. I just realized there's only 7 days on the cruise so I have too many characters! If there was one with the main characters, I could give that at the beginning of the week! Thanks!

I know you've been busy, but I was hoping to put in a personal request. I would like to make some nuggets for my son's Bday in July as a Thank You. Would you be able to make a Mickey's Clubhouse card for them that says some sort of Thank You? No rush, and if you can't I can use a generic one too. TIA!

I have an idea on how to keep the nuggets cool in the car. Place the nuggets in a ziplock bag then place in one of the insulated lunch bags/6-pack bags with a reuseable ice pack (or double bag ice in a ziplock bag)

I am hurting inside because these are sooooooo cute. I am at work and cannot wait to get home to my colored printer so I can make some of these. What a true talent to share with others.
Each year our school does a mother/son bowling event and next year we are thinking of a pirate theme. I am sure these will be on the tables.
I may have to host a few parties just to use some of these great designs. I have two cousins getting married later this year and I think they will both have the most unique card on their gifts.
Thanks!!!!

Hi Telynn
You have done some beautiful work for me before and was wondering if I could impose on you again!!! I am using the mint matchbooks for little choccie treats at the end of the day and I am also leaving the children your cards as little 'goodnights' from the characters. The 'Cat in the Hat' one will be perfect for after our day at Universal (perhaps I had better wash my mouth out with soap for saying that dirty word!!!). Do you have a Cat mint book? Also can you kindly change the wording on the card to say 'Today was good today was fun tommorow is another one'. Also do you possibly have mint books and goodnight cards from Shamu for our Seaworld day? Thank you so much for helping make the children's trip that extra bit magical:flower3:

These are so cute!!! Could I make a request for the mint wrappers with the Lion King or Safari Mickey, Minnie, etc. We are eating character breakfast at at AK and these would be great to give to the kids that morning. I am actually thinking of putting their vitamins in these for each morning we are at the park.
May I also request the mint wrappers in Star Wars (either Lego, realy Star Wars or Mickey Star Wars will do) and in Winnie the Pooh and Friends?
Thank you in advance!!!

Ladies, I'll still make the mint wrappers as requested, but you may wish to rethink using them for vitamins or medications. I don't know how old your children are, but my concern is that giving meds and vitamins in this manner would make the children believe (even innocently) that these items are a treat. I would hate to think that the children would get into the stash of the mint wrapper items and accidently poison/overdose themselves because they think the wrappers covered candies. (Especially since they do not receive the medications/vitamins in this manner at home.)

Thank you Telynn for the Lion King first set. I am going to buy more nuggets today to try making these also. I will post pics when I am done.
Also I agree with what you said about using these as wrappers for medication. I think it could be very dangerous.Children sometimes overdose on meds. in there correct bottle. Just imagine if the medicine is now dressed up in a nice Disney wrapper at Disney World.Ladies I beg you to rethink it.

Could you make some more girl mint matchbooks? I want to put my daughter's medicine in them. We will be there 2 weeks. I was thinking...
Mary Poppins
Mulan
Jasmine
Alice
Daisy
Wendy
High School Musical with Gabriella, Sharpay, and Taylor
Hannah Montana
Pocohontas
Marie
Lady
Jessie
I know this is alot. If you don't want to do them or have time, that's ok. I can reuse the ones you have already done.

I agree with what you said about the meds and vitamins. I'm not really worried about it. My kids are 12 and 8. My 12 year old has been taking medication out of a daily planner that I fix for her for several years. She'll be fine. I was thinking of putting vitamins in the 8 year olds envelopes. She knows the difference between her gummy vitamins and her sister's meds. (8 year old does not take her vitamins herself, I give them to her)They have both been educated on medication and it's effects. For added security, I will probably hold on to the envelopes myself and give them to them myself so that there is no question on who's is who's and we don't have any accidents. I am not doing the mints so there won't be any problem with getting them confused. Thanks for reminding me of possible hazards that this could cause.

As for the medication in the mint wrappers, I'm happy that they will work for your family. I wanted to make sure that others considering this were aware of the potential hazzards.

Hey Telynn! You did this darling design for me a little while ago, and when I sat down to do these this morning I realized that this size is for the nuggets...I have tired to alter it for the pack of gum (5 stick size) with no luck. If you are too busy to make the alterations I understand, and really appreciate all the great designs!! :cheer2: I am on the countdown to our Disney Cruise...June 1st can't wait to give my nuggets in the fish extenders!!

What is just as good is that you did Star Wars. His friend is going for Star Wars weekend. I did the nuggets for his mom & dad but he can't eat chocolate or nuts. So this will be special for him also. By Saturday I should have all of these done Lion King and now Star Wars. I will post them for you. Thank you once again. These designs are Fantasmic!

I am working on my neices shower with the Willie Wonka theme. Do you have any ideas for the nuggets? I have the candy bar with the golden ticket for a door prize and the mint matchbook covers and then I thought the nugget would be cute as well.
Thanks
Dean

Thank you Tinkerbell/pixie!
I was also told that the Nuggets size fit the mini Lifesavers rolls and the Nestle Treasures -- this'll give more options to those who cannot have the Nuggets. I'm also testing to see if they will fit the mini raisin boxes without modifying them again....

Hi Dean!
Thank you for the compliment!
I have the For Dummies book too and it's still difficult for me to follow. I want to take a class (once I find a job)
As for ideas for the nuggets, I'm drawning a blank right now. I'll add it to my list of requests but I cannot guarantee that I can get them done before this weekend.
Since at Willie Wonka's place, everything is sweet and delicious...have you considered making sushi? It's gummy worm fish wrapped in rice krispy treats then surrounded by a fruit rollup. You can google "Candy Sushi" to get the directions.

Hey Telynn,
The shower isn't until June 7th, that sounds like a good idea, I will tell my sil, she handling all the food. She is making all kinds of fancy things with candy, the chocolate fountain with fruit, she loves stuff like that I like working with the computer so its a good fit.
They offer a online class here thru our Community College, its $55.00, I thought about taking it but haven't signed up yet.
You are doing awesome work. Don't you just love these Carolina blue skies this week.

Unfortunately I haven't had the opportunity to enjoy the pretty skies. Spending days making calls and sending out resumes since I was recently laid off. Hopefully I can enjoy the out-of-doors tomorrow...

Telynn,
Could you make some more girl mint matchbooks? I want to put my daughter's medicine in them. We will be there 2 weeks. I was thinking...
Mary Poppins
Mulan
Jasmine
Alice
Daisy
Wendy
High School Musical with Gabriella, Sharpay, and Taylor
Hannah Montana
Pocohontas
Marie
Lady
Jessie
I know this is alot. If you don't want to do them or have time, that's ok. I can reuse the ones you have already done.
Thanks a bunch!!:)

I wanted to see if I could add a request to your list. I am helping with my DD's 5th grade graduation this year. I've made all the kids personalized candybars from this site. I would also like to make something that could be put out on the cake table. I thought about nugget/mini candybars with just a wrapper that say "Class of 2008" in their school colors or the mints with a graduation hat and a saying at the bottom. I thought it would be cute to say something like "Mint for success/ greatness....something like that. I'm not sure what would fit. Anything you could come up with would be wonderful I'm sure. Their school colors are maroon, gray and white. If if doesnt look good, don't worry about the gray. Their school name is Greysbranch. Thanks so very much.

Here are your requests. The first is the mint wrapper:
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u291/Telynn_Rose/DISigns/Mint%20Wrappers/08Graduation.jpg
The second is the base design for covering Hershey Nuggests or Miniatures, Nestle Treasures, or Mini Lifesaver rolls. It was designed to be printed on Avry address label #8760 (#s 2660, 5160, 5960, or 8460 will work as well). If you PM me your email address I'll send you both the MS Word document and the PDF document with the labels already created.
