I have a question. We have an ADR for 4 at LeCEllier for dinner. We are considering putting the kids in the babysitting club and doing an adults only dinner. I don't want to change the ressie just yet until I am sure that we will in fact leave the boys. Can I call the morning of and change it? Will we still be able to keep our ressie even though it changed from 4 to 2 people? Thanks for any insight!:goodvibes

I had a similar problem last year & had an ADR for 7 but ended up with only 5. The Dining people told me not to change my ressie, just to show up at the counter & explain as if we changed the ressie we would lose it altogether. That's what we did & it worked great. They had no problem putting us at a table for 5 & we only waited maybe 10 minutes?

That is sooo helpful! Thank you so much! We have been trying to eat there for 3 years now and I would hate to lose that ressie!:thumbsup2 :goodvibes

it is kinda crazy how they do that. I would think adding to would be a problem not taking away from.(but it does happened to us last year) i booked cindy's castle yesterday and needed a table for 4 with a highchair for the baby. I had to of course get a table for 5. They didn't have any so they booked me 2 tables. I explained to the CM I hated to take a 2nd table when I am fairly certain when I tell them after arriving for our ADR's I want the table for 4 with a high chair that the other table will go to waste. I know how sought after this place is and don't want to take from someone else.:confused3 she laughed and agreed but it was what they had to do.

We had the exact same situation (down to the exact number in our party), with the exact same result.

We were told if we changed our reservation we'd lose it all together, but had no problem telling them at the podium that we were two shy.

I felt bad for the party of two who maybe missed out on the dinner, but it's Disney's messed up system for reservations, so there's not much we can do about it. Hopefully they improve their system so this is no longer a problem.

We did this just the other day - Monday actually! :sad1: We had ADRs at Crystal palace for my family of 5. My sster decided to join us for the day, so we just called WDW Dinde from the park and they added her right on! No problems what so ever. And i think it was only 2 hours from ourressie time... I think they try to be as accomodating as possible. I think adding or taking away one or two is a bit easier than upwards of 3+.... We have oly been home 2+ days and I am in total Dis-drawls!!! AHHHH..... :confused3
Good luck and have a Magical Day! :wizard:

What about my situation? My family is coming down for a vacation where there are 9 of us total. However; my brother and his family (4 of the 9) may not be able to make it because of my sister-in-laws job.

We have the Hoop Dee Doo, and CRT reservations. Which I had to put a CC reserve on. Will they still charge for the 9 if only 5 are able to show? :confused3 :confused3

EXCELLENT point and yes, you'll be charged for those that don't show if you don't cancel in time.

I should have specifically addressed CC reservations in my reply - thanks for clarifying this.

Yup, you'll be charged for those. It is a much better idea to re-do that ressie. Honestly, I re-did other ressies too just to be polite as soon as I'd find out how many it would really be, I'd call and change the number. But if it was going to make me LOSE the ressie, then they told me to just keep it & tell them at the podium. But at CRT, for example, they charge your card for each person so it's a much better plan to lose it all together, then have to pay for people who aren't gonna be there!

Thanks for the info, my brother was supposed to call me last night and let me know. But did he, nope. So now I get to call and annoy him. :lmao:

An option might be for those 4 spots to be reserved on one of their credit cards, not yours. Should they not show, they would be held accountable, not you..... food for thought. and remember as long as you call to cancel wit the alotted time (24 or 48 hours) you will be fine.

Good thought, I may call and see if some of the current reservation can be split into different cards. Then he is responsible for it. I found out why he did not call me, his company pulled all the June and July vacations off the table for everyone. His union is currently fighting the company about that. So who knows when he will find out... :headache:

What about places like Cali Grill that require a CC guarantee but aren't set price meals? We have a res for 5 + an infant but may end up being only 4. Would we be charged a no-show fee for the adult who doesn't go?
