Forgive me if this has already come up...
I read on another thread where someone said Cirque du Soleil--La Nouba will cease production.
They didn't state when, how, why...
Just wondering if anyone else has seen / heard this???

That would be a shame--I very much enjoy that show.

Hope it's true. They can use something new down that end of DTD.

Changing a permanent show doesn't seem to be Cirque's style. They have 5 permanent shows in Vegas (Mystere, O, Zumanity, Ka, and Love) and none have changed since each opened. It would be a shame to see La Nouba disappear. Can't count how many times I've seen it.

I'd say something's up. They just offered CM's 50% off tickets for La Nouba. That's always telling.

1) It is tough to tell, but it could just be a rumor.
2) But, they might have run their course and time for a new Cirque show.
3) Just as an FYI
. . . the theater was built for Cirque by Disney, at Disney's cost
. . . by contract, Disney owns 50% of the seats
. . . purchased seats are first assigned to Cirque, up to 50% of the house
. . . remaining seats sales are then assigned to Disney
. . . each Disney ticket has a percentage split for Disney and Cirque
. . . so, if seats go unsold above the 50% mark, they are Disney's loss
. . . plus WDW still owes the profit percentage to Cirque
4) In many cases, unsold Cirque tickets are freely given to CM's to use.
5) Even Category #1 and Category #2 seating.
6) We got four Cat #2 seats for free last year.

La Nouba has the lowest attendance percentage of the six resident Cirque du Soleil shows. Of course, that may be an unfair comparison since it is the only one that is not in Las Vegas.
There have been quite a few rumors circulating lately, as this coming December marks the end of the initial 10 year contract.
dvc at last !

If you have been to LasVegas to know that if you take a tour of
Timeshares they give out FREE Cirque tickets.

Cirque has never closed a resident show, unless you count the Alegria production at the Beau Rivage that closed about a year after the property originally opened in 1999. If you read Cirque's spin, they say they always planned to make it a touring show. If they close La Nouba be prepared for the most unbelievable spin you've ever heard.

They do this just about every year.
It's a great perk for Disney cast members, it helps fill extra seats during the slower seasons, and it helps cast members from across the property promote the show by seeing and experiencing the show adding to their product knowledge.

I hope it stays. What else would they put there? Disney Quest 2?

I've also heard this rumour floating around.

... this coming December marks the end of the initial 10 year contract.
And here is probably the source of at least 75% of the rumor mill.
I suspect that either the show will continue as-is or a "new" Cirque show will take up residence using many of the same performers (if not all) ...
Time will tell.

Well, I've been three times...
the first was in '04 & there wasn't an empty seat in the house
'06 lots of empty seats
'08 less than half full, on a Friday night!!
This rumor wouldn't surprise me to be true.

Not really, Disney has done that several times with both La Nouba AND other shows.... On my 3 college Programs from 1998-2000, La Nouba and the Luau were both offered for 50% off to cast members. In 2002, when I went on Vacation a cast member friend got me 50% off tickets. So there are several times where it has been offered and it wasn't meaning anything was up.

Well I would like to see that space used for some of Disney's traveling or set Broadway shows. I like the Cirque show and have seen it a few times but if it goes I hope the space is not turned into a music stage or anything we can get anywhere.
