When is value season at the Fort? Also, if I wanted to reserve now for 2009 how do I do that? On the website it says you can only book up to Dec 31 2008.

Also, I have a pop up, have never camped at FW, what are the best sites, loops? Do I get to choose my site or just loop? We have no pets but do have 2 kids 8 & 10.

You can make reservations up to 500 days in advance if you call. I have a reservation for spring break 2009, but since the rates aren't set yet for that period, the quoted rate is not guaranteed. You reserve a certain type of campsite and will get that type. Within that type you can request a loop, a feature (such as easy to get into with a big rig or near the comfort station) or even a particular site, but there are no guarantees. Up until now, there were preferred sites (WSEC), full hookup sites (WSE) and partial hookup sites (WE), but they're adding premium sites (WSEC and better big rig access) and converting all the full hookup sites to preferred sites with cable. I think the WE sites (basically tent and popup) are getting cable too. I'm not sure of the timing, although I've got the new premium site category reserved for two future trips, so they're taking reservations for them.
