I was about 10 yrs old.

BTW - My wife went to East Stroudsburg U. Many late nights at Floods and the Front Row with her.

Thanks for that link Bob P. I started visiting WDW in '78 and I recall seeing signs for the boats, but I don't recall every actually seeing the boats. Wish I could have tried it. :earsboy:

Yep, I remember them...not sure I ever rode one, though. :confused3

I was just talking about old MK attractions last night. My very 1st memory of Disney (when I was 2 or 3 yo) was the Skyway ride. For some reason, I thought all the bubblegum-ball colored cars were the best thing EVER! I remember asking to ride again & again & having my brother & sister give me the stinkeye for making them ride it so often. :rotfl:

'Course, I also loved to ride shotgun in my uncles little Cessna 170, so much my nickname became "Roger", short for Roger Dodger. :cutie:

Ah, the MK swan boats. Summer of 80' I was with the summer college program and so excited with all my friends to be working at MK for the summer. (At that time there was only MK and River Country.) Welll, Once there WDW said they wanted me to be a 'swan boat girl':boat: I was sooooo disappointed because all my friends were assigned to the more glamorous attractions and I was stuck on a boat shaped like a bird that no one ever rode. Plus I had to adorn a hideous sailor uniform with a pleated skirt (not on these hips!) I mean how was I ever to look cool wearing that get up? Plus the attraction closed at 5pm (dusk) and all my friends worked till 10:00pm. To make a long story short, I cried big ol' alligator tears and they switched me over to the Tiki Birds and I was happy ever after.

p.s. I still have nightmares about that pleated skirt though...lol :scared1:
