Can anyone confirm this???
I read somewhere that you are limited to
a piece of fruit
a drink
a single serve chip
a ice cream treat
I really loved the variety when I purchased the dining plan as far as the snacks go and this seems so limited to me. :confused3
While Disney SAYS your snacks are limited to this, that is not the reality.
See thread above that is titled "2008 dining plan snacks" and you will see a list of confirmed snacks that people have gotten w/ their DDP. It seems a tad more limited than previously, but not much, certainly not nearly as limited as Disney states.
I don't see the box of donuts for 1 SC that was breakfast for 2 or 3 days for my kids at POP...what a great deal! Shucks!

The items you list are the published, absolute snacks. In fact, those were the ONLY snacks allowed when the Dining Plan was first introduced.
As you can see from the sticky, other items are permitted - although not to the extent that they were the last couple of years; now it's only (and not all) single-serve, non-"meal" items.

NO big deal !!! Those donuts go on sale here at my local supermarket all the time for $2.99 :thumbsup2
No loss IMO :)

Typically things under $4 count as snacks. However, to help you while you are there...everything included on the DDP is clearly marked with little purple DDP signs.

OP's original post suggests a concern that there are different rules for those on the DP with free dining. No one knows if you got Free DP or paid DP once you're at Disney. It'll be your little secret! The DP has rules that apply for everyone, no matter how you paid for the DP.

Two years ago, (our first free DDP trip), Me and DW go to our first ADR, San Angle, the CM comes up and askes if we are on the DDP, My DW says yes we are on the Free DDP. The CM takes our order and walks away and I told my DW don't say free DDP is just DDP they don't know and shouldn't have to know. We only ever said we are on the DDP from then on. So there is no difference free DDP or paid DDP. And I must say 2 years now and about 16 free TS and the CMs have been real great to us.

Well, maybe think about it this way...the Entemann's donuts might be a good deal, but you can get those any old time at the grocery store. Where else are you gonna get a Mickey bar, or a Dole whip float, or a slice of tie-dyed cheesecake, or Figaro fries??? :mickeybar Isn't it much better to use snack credits on specialties that you can't get outside of WDW? :goodvibes

Katiebell, dole whips are still on the plan? I heard they are no longer offer for a snack.

Did you check the 2008 Confirmed Snacks sticky thread? Post number one breaks down the confirmed (i.e. actual DIS experience) snack items by location.

Well, as katieeldr mentioned (hi katieeldr, long time no see! :wave2:) they are still in the confirmed snacks sticky thread (such a silly name -- sounds like they only confirm sticky snacks, as opposed to crunchy, salty, or creamy snacks )

Not sure why someone would have said Dole Whips aren't included? :confused3 They are single servings, they are less than $4 (even the floats), and almost every snack that meets that criteria is included :mickeybar

We're kind of crazy, but my DH REFUSES to use a snack credit for water or sodas, only for specialty items. I've been there twice in three years and I've never had a Dole Whip. Sounds wonderful!!! I can't wait. 20 days, 19 hours...(not that I'm counting or anything)! I did have a tropical smoothie at Epcot last year-is it similar, because that was incredible!!! :cool1:

I hate to use a snack credit on sodas/water too. We usually pay OOP for those and then end up with a bunch of snack credits before we leave. I guess it's just I want to maximize my snack credit and feel that using one a 2.50 soda is waisting one; however, I don't mind using one a 2.50 :mickeybar . I know, doesn't make sense.

Exactly! Last year my wife, son, and myself shared a Cinnamon roll from the Main St. bakery for breakfast that only cost us one snack credit. :thumbsup2 This is it.

Well, as katieeldr mentioned (hi katieeldr, long time no see! ) Back atcha, Katiebell! Not my fault, by the way - I've been here all along, holding down the fort and supporting (with varying degrees of success) common sense :teeth:

No box of donuts. This year snack credits apply to single serving items. But it's a broader list than the one in the first post.
And unless it's been changed again, the sodas in the parks are $2, not $2.50. When I did use the dining plan I used snack credits for Diet Coke. I wasn't hungry. Once I stayed at Pop Century and used the snack credits for Coke slurpees.
The only difference between free dining and paid dining plan is that you didn't pay extra for the plan when you bought your package. It works exactly the same way.

No loss IMO :)I agree, I can get Entemann's at home, and while that would be an easy breakfast, and would last me the whole trip, it isn't a big deal to me, and I understand why Disney would take off the multi-serving packs of doughnuts and bags of chips.

Tell your DH that I agree 100%. That's what refillable mugs, free ice water and the extra drink at breakfast are for....so you don't have to waste your snack credits on them.;)

DF and I agreed on not using snack creds for soda or water but we did use one on a Dole Whip Float (had to try them heard so much about them), it was well worth it.
