I'm back!!!
After a long absence from the Boards, and the Fort, TCD is just back from another mission errr.... visit to the Fort.
And, I have the pictures to prove it.
The Fort looks great!
After having camped at the Fort for many, many years, I had become accustomed to things staying the same, or maybe slowing decaying. No more. It is clear that Disney is sinking a lot of $$$ into the Fort, and that exciting times are ahead.
I have photographic confirmation that the rumored site expansions are actually going to happen, and soon. But I will get to that later.
Who wants to see some photos?
First, a couple of photos from the pre-trip, just to set everything in proper perspective:
Have any of you heard of Airstream Ranch? You may know that there is an attraction in Texas called the Cadillac Ranch. A bunch of Cadillacs are planted in the ground, Stonehenge style. Well, just outside of Tampa (mile-marker 14 on I-4 to be exact), an RV dealer has erected Airstream Ranch. Take a look:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08050.jpg
The bad news is, this is a code and/or zoning violation, and the attraction is going to be coming down.
Now, on to the Fort.
But, first, I need to give you all just a little more background. There are three TCD DD's, ages 12-16. There is this music group called the Jonas Brothers. They were scheduled to be at Universal Studios on March 28th to tape an appearance on the Ellen show. They begged the old mad to take them on the way to the Fort. Well, I guess these photos will show you who is boss:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08052.jpg
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08053.jpg
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08054.jpg
So that is Joe, Kevin and Nick (in that order), above. Yes, I now know their names, and I can tell them apart!
Here is Ellen with the boys:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08051.jpg
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08105.jpg
So, all this is being mentioned to explain the golf cart decorations displayed on the TCD spy mobile for the week. See for yourself:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08059.jpg
As I was waiting at the marina one fine afternoon to pick up a couple of the DD's from a visit to the MK, a woman on her golf cart laughed out loud at me sitting in my cart. Her young son asked mom why she was laughing. She told the young fellow that that man over there had "his man card taken away." Ouch!
So, now that the preliminaries are out of the way, how about some photos of some new and different and obscure places at the Fort? Anyone up for that?
Do you think I can deliver?

I'll start with something easy.
Have any of you ever seen this golf cart before?
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08086.jpg
Well, now you have.
It looks like something that is actually used on a golf course, and there was a cast member driving it.
This photo was taken on Ft. Wilderness Trail, with the 700 loop in the background.

The Fort was crawling with surveyors last week!
These guys were working around the 700 and 400 loop:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08085.jpg
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08072.jpg
They appeared to by Disney employees.
Over by the 1400 loop, a separate company was doing a lot of survey work:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08062.jpg
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08063.jpg
This photo above is taken from Big Pine Drive, facing toward the 1400 loop. You can see the Meadows movie screen in the background.
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08073.jpg
I spoke to one of the fellows doing the surveying around the 1400 loop. He confirmed that they were drawing the plans for expanding the campsites, and that Disney was using its own people for the work being done around the 700 loop. The work is going to be done soon.

So one morning, I am leaving the Meadows Trading post just after 8 am with a cup of coffee, and I run into a group of about 25 folks milling around outside. They all have Disney name tags. Some are wearing suits, some are casual. They all have either cameras or clipboards, and some have both. They are all swarming around looking at things around and on the building. Snapping pictures and taking notes.
They go in to the Trading Post, and look around, and then the all end up on the back porch for some kind of pow-wow.
What is this all about?
Are changes coming to the Meadows Trading Post? It would sure seem that way.
Here is the group on the back porch. Sorry for the photo quality. Trying to be surreptitious.

Dude- I was stalking you. I expected the folks on the 900 loop to call security, because I kept driving by your rig to try to catch you. No luck this trip. I saw your Disboard sign. Also, saw signs from BradisGoofy and presumably a friend of his over on the 300 loop.
I have issues about putting up a Disboards sign on my site. I have three DD's, and the DW only spent part of the week with us, so it was just me and the girls most of the time, and sometimes they were alone at the campsite. I am not worried about my fellow Disboard members, but it kinds of makes me worry that anyone can read these posts, and figure out when and where we will be at the Fort.
Plus, I have to keep a low profile. Helps with the spying, you know.

You know what else is really looking good at the Fort? All of the canals. They are full and clean! I have never seen them look this good. They always used to be low, stagnant and green.
I saw these fellows spraying herbicide on the green stuff one morning:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08005.jpg
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08004.jpg
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08006.jpg
The first two photos were taken from the bridge behind the Meadows Trading Post, looking toward the 1300 loop. The third was taken from Ft. Wilderness Trail, looking towards the Meadows Swimming Pool.
I saw tons of folks fishing, and lots of canoes and kayaks. I have never tried the canoeing- did not want to paddle through the slime, but I'm rethinking that for my next trip.

Did you all know that the hot tub has already been installed at the Fort?
Somehow, I was expecting more, and I don't know why they put it in the back of a site on the 1800 loop, but here it is:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08104.jpg
Seriously, I had never seen anyone bring their own hot tub to the Fort before. I thought that these would be my kind of people. People who know how to party.
But, sadly, I drove by this site lots of times hoping to see this baby in use, but it never was. :(

Here is an update for ClKelly and all of the other 2000 loop fans.
There are lots of new trees planted along the road around the side of the 2000 loop. Already things seem more private:

I have never seen so much maintenance going on at the Fort.
During my trip, there was a crew with a big truck which was essentially vacuuming out the drainage pipes that run under the loops. I don't think that this has been done in years.
Here they are in action:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08068.jpg
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08066.jpg
You can tell these guys are pros, because only one guy was needed to do the work, and the rest stood around to watch! :rotfl2:
On the 1800 loop, this work caused a little boo-boo (sinkhole), which was bigger than this photo makes it appear:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08057.jpg
I am glad to see this work being done. I think, perhaps, it will help with the standing water issues that are now so obvious with the clearing that has been done.

We took a DCL cruise back in 2005. I had a great time chatting it up on the Disboards, and I posted names, photos, etc. before the cruise. On the cruise, people kept coming up to my DW and DD's and telling them that they knew me from the disboards, and they knew their names, and a lot about them. It was all a lot of fun. On the cruise, I met a man who was a lurker, and who had read every one's posts. He was a nice guy, and he subsequently became a disboard member, but it really made me think. Anyone can get into the Fort without having to identify him or herself. It doesn't make me feel real safe. I have never had a problem there, and never even bother to lock the camper, but I don't want to announce my presence to the world.

My DD took the same picture of the CPR dummy. It is nice to see them working on the fort but some of the loops really look bad now but will be great soon. The 1500 loop is looking so much better now than it did last year right after they cleared it out.

OK, about those vehicles and the men working by the canal behind the 1800 loop . . . The pet walk area terminates at a gate. There is a sign at the gate that says "NO PETS BEYOND THIS POINT." It doesn't say anything about people, and the gate is not locked.
The area where the men were working is just inside the gate. They were clearing a path through the woods, adjacent to a small canal. They had cleared about 200-300 feet into the woods, which is where I came upon their wood chipper:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08019.jpg
I am not sure what this could all be about. This pathway is a considerable distance from the 1800 and 1900 loops, which are the closest loops to this area. On the other side of the canal, just on the other side of the gate, there is already a wide, paved road. Here is what it looks like:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08020.jpg
What do you think could be down this road? It's a pretty nice road. There aren't any signs saying to keep out. Shall we take a look? . . .
Just a little ways down the road, I do see a sign, posted on a tree along side the road:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08023.jpg
The area that was cleared is on the other side of this sign, just over the little canal.
Let's keep going . . .
I think I hear something . . . .
What is it . . .
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08022-1.jpg
A deer!
Wait, what is that?
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08023-1.jpg
Two deer!
They look at me and then run off.
I continue walking.
Off to the left, I see what looks to be a golf driving range. It is just that:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08021.jpg
The road terminates at what looks like a maintenance complex:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08024.jpg
I don't see a soul along this road. I decide to head back.
You can see the area where I was on Google Earth. Here is a link:

The buildings in my last photo are at the bottom of this aerial photo. The pathway heads north from it.
Next, the walk back . . .

So, I head back from the maintenance area.
As I come back to the big canal and pet walk area, I hear some kind of animal making a loud noise. It isn't a peacock. What is it.
Check this guy out!:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08034.jpg
As I am stalking this fellow for a good photo, I hear a vehicle approaching. It is a maintenance worker coming in from the golf course. He stops his cart, and he and I watch the turkey for a while. He (the turkey) is gobbling like crazy! The maintenance worker says that there are a bunch of hens sitting on nests in the area.
I ask this man about the construction going on over on the golf course. He says the Eagle Pines course is closed, and that there is a lot of work going on. For the immediate future, the Osprey Ridge course (the one closest to the Fort) will remain as is.
The man goes on his way. I walk over the the bridge that you can see in the distance of my earlier photos, and take a photo of the view looking back toward the Fort:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08035.jpg
You can see some of the sites on the 1800, 1600 and 1500 loops there in the distance.

The buildings are probably the buildings that you would see if you made a right, just past the horse barn on the main drag on the way in. There's also a path from 1700 loop that finds it's way back there I believe.

Yes- you are correct. If you look at the link to the aerial photo- this complex sits behind the stables, and can be reached by the road on the south of the main parking lot and also from the road way that you mention. It is a pretty big collection of buildings. I didn't know that the buildings were used for maintenance on the golf courses, too. I am still thinking about one day "accidentally" driving down the roads to get a better look at what is back there.
We stayed on the 1700 loop this trip, and it is amazing to see the number and variety of vehicles that come out of the little path all day long (life guards on golf carts, maintenance workers, etc.)

We saw your cart around a lot. My DD actually used it as ammo for her and my DW putting flowers all over ours. Our “theme” this trip was based on the Flower and Garden show. My DD took the same picture of the CPR dummy. It is nice to see them working on the fort but some of the loops really look bad now but will be great soon. The 1500 loop is looking so much better now than it did last year right after they cleared it out.
What loop where you all on? I am trying to remember a cart with flowers on it.

Speaking of the 1700 loop, did you know that the comfort station between 1700 and 1900 has not been refurbished. Neither has the one between 1600 and 1800. I thought all of the comfort stations had been redone, but these haven't been done yet.
Here is a photo of what the one between 1700 and 1900 looks like:

Correct about the Eagle Pines being closed. That's going to become a multi-million dollar gated community. I posted a like to the story from the Orlando Sentinel earlier in the thread. They are in the process of rezoning the Opsrey golf course, but that's about all it said about that one. Maybe they'll annex it over to the new community...

Yeah, IF they let you in. Sounds like you have to have lots of $$$ to get in there. I love Celebration, just don't want to pay the prices to live there. Plus, before we moved to Ohio (then back to FL) about 5 yrs ago, there was a news story about how some of the houses built over there were crumbling on the outside. The trim would just come off in bits. Well, that & the $700 HOA fee (at least that's what it was at that time 5 yrs ago...).....:lmao:

With as many times as TCD has been to the Fort over the years, you would be justified in thinking that I have seen it all.
But, you would be wrong.
In all my visits, I have never seen an alligator.
I never thought there were any, even though there have been a couple of photos posted.
Well, last week I was poking around the canal behind the 1500 loop, and two kids tell my DD that there is a gator in the canal!
It couldn't be. There are campsites all around.
But, this is what I saw:

It's probably been caught & moved by now. We were on the ferry from POR to DTD w/ the in-laws in the fall & the driver/capt. said that if they find alligators, that they catch them & move them to their "happy" place. They probably ship them over to Gatorland. But they do try to not have them on property in the wild where guests are or can be.

Time to look at other people's campsites. Why wait for someone to post a picture of his campsite, when I can do it for him?
Here are some photos of some interesting set-ups seen around the Fort last week.
On the 1900 loop. This is a Winnebago product, built on a Mercedes SUV chassis. A neat little rig, note the satellite dish on the roof:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08042.jpg
On the 100 loop. I liked the whimsical signs this camper has installed on his/her site. Also note the purple theme. Not real common at the Fort:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08108.jpg
Also on the 100 loop, a motorcycle with a cool side car. (Just like the bat bike- remember how much Robin loved riding in that?):
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08070.jpg
Here are some good old boys enjoying their campsite on the 2000 loop. They kept their boat parked there for easy access, and dressed like dem fellers you see on those cable channel fishing shows (lots of plaid and denim):
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08011-1.jpg
Over on the 1200 loop, I caught a glimpse of some long-termers' garage. Note that this is where they keep their fancy golf cart, and their Christmas tree (this was taken in April-so I'm guessing these folks have been at the Fort a long time):
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08010-1.jpg
I thought this was an interesting rig on the 300 loop- looks like a travel trailer, but the roof pops up:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08067.jpg
Right next door to the rig in the photo above, I found the site of our own Disboard friend BradisGoofy. Quite a set-up. Note the lime green golf cart, and Mickey light. He also had a scrolling message sign in his window saying things like "Disboards" and "Fort Fiends." Good job!

After many years of visiting the Fort without the TCD DK9 (Dear Canine) it was finally the TCD dog's day.
On this trip, Mrs. TCD stayed back at the home base at the beginning of the trip. Her assignment was to rescue DD16 who can no longer possibly afford to stay at the Fort for a week, less her social life come to a screeching halt. So the plan was that Mrs. TCD would travel over to rescue the DD16 some time mid week.
When we got our site assignment, we found that we were assigned to a pet loop. After some lengthy negotiations, it was agreed that the DK9 would travel over with Mrs. TCD for the rescue mission, and get to enjoy a night or two at the Fort.
Have you ever seen a dog smile?
Take a look at the TCD DK9 in this photo:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08094.jpg
BTW, that is me (TCD) there in the back seat with the DK9, and TCD DD16 there in the drivers seat. I am breaking protocol by posting a photo of myself, but the huge smile on the DK9's face is priceless, and I had to share.
So anyway, we are off to the Dog Park!
First, proper introductions need to be made:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08095.jpg
After everybody is properly introduced, it is time to run with the pack!
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08096.jpg
DK9 had a blast:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08100.jpg
BTW the DK9 is a boxer. She is "big boned." She was once mistaken for a St. Bernard. The man who called her that won't make that mistake again. (DK9 is sensitive about her weight issue.)
The Dog Park was a big hit with the TCD family. Also, the DK9 loved driving around on the golf cart.

Hey TCD, do you ever explore the old railroad while you are out and about?
I tried to walk the entire route a couple of years ago, but some areas are pretty much jungle now.
Tony- Yes, I do check out the old railroad. On one of our very first trips to the fort in the early 90's, I remember walking the a good portion of the route, and ending up by the Settlement Bus Stop. It was still clear enough to walk most of the route then. Now, a lot of the ties have been pulled up, and there really is no way to walk the path behind the 700 loop.
Great pics TCD! Loved seeing the latest shots of the Fort, and I agree, they really are sinking money into the Fort, and it's starting to show!
Hey Colson39! It's been a long time! Thanks for the props! I agree with you about the Fort starting to look a lot better. I actually had mixed emotions seeing all of the surveyors, and long deferred maintenance finally being done. I kind of grew accustomed to the Fort being a forgotten gem. I have some concerns about what it is going to be like when it is all gussied up. It will certainly be busier, and harder to get a spot. Oh well, change is inevitable, and I was amongst those who used to bemoan the fact that the Fort was literally decaying before our eyes. Can't say that any more! The definite silver lining in all of this, is that the Fort is definitely here to stay for at least our lifetimes! Woo Hoo!
I think I took pics of it in December. What a cute golf cart!
Thank you for all the pics TCD! :goodvibes
You are welcome!
Thanks for sharing TCD!!! Those are great pictures, although the gator in the canal freaks me out....agghhh!!!
The gator didn't want anything to do with anyone. I wish I had the camera out when I arrived at my site. When I pulled in, I noticed that there was a long piece of black hose laying by the sewer drain. I thought maybe the site cleaners were slipping. I didn't want to have to touch some nasty old hose. So after parking, I walked around to take a look. The "hose" started to slither away!! It was the longest black snake I have ever seen at the Fort- and me without the camera ready. D'oh

In case you haven't noticed, one of my favorite pastimes at the Fort is people watching.
I love to just look at my neighbors and see the things that other folks do at the Fort.
Now that there is practically no vegetation between the sites, this is almost impossible to not do.
So, on my spring break visit, I enjoyed watching folks come and go.
For a few days, we had some folks next to us who must have been in the witness protection program. They had a class C. They had a cover over the windshield, and kept their shades drawn the entire trip. They had not one thing outside of the RV. No rug, chairs, shoes, ponchos, beer cooler, etc. There were four bikes on the site, which periodcally moved over the two or three days they were there, but otherwise, there were no signs of life. Weird.
Across from us, and down the loop a little, there was a large family camping in a pop up. They had stuff all over their site, and in the back, they had a whole kitchen set up under an awning. Deep fat fryer, microwave, you name it. The brought Grandma along. All day long, Grandma was back in the kitchen area, cooking something, or washing a pot or something. She was great. Always working. I was thinking about asking them if I could borrow her.
Anyway, one afternoon we were taking off to visit a park, and I happen to glance over at the campsite.
Look at good old Grandma, God bless her! :

I was there during the golf car incident. We were staying in the 500 loop and heard a huge crash and someone scream. My mother got on the cart to go see what happened, apparently the cart behind didn't see the cart in front and crashed into it, like a fender bender during rush-hour. The cart was broken down and in the morning they picked it up. No one was hurt but the scream sure made it sound like someone was.

I remember having a campsite on the 1400 loop a few years back. It was right on the canal. The water was gross! One day, two ducks came swimming by. They were coated with green slime. I couldn't believe the poor things were in that nasty water. Back then, it was impossible to get a canoe down the canals. The water was too low, and full of fallen trees. Now, everything is clean and nice. I have never rented a canoe at the Fort, but I think I am going to while the water looks as nice as it does.
She looks like when you're driving down the interstate and you see somebody laying up against the window with their mouth wide open lol.
Yes, out of respect for Grandma, I did not take a close up, but she was definitely catching flies, and I think snoring a little.

Got a chance the check out the Wilderness Swamp Trail on this trip.
I couldn't even find the pathways to the old boardwalk. Everything is so overgrown. The main trail is still clear:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08138.jpg
There are still a lot of magnificent bald cypress trees back there:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08139-1.jpg
Here is view from just next to the little old cabin looking toward the Contemporary and Magic Kingdom:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08039.jpg
I don't like the impact the new DVC building has on the skyline:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08040.jpg
Does anybody know how tall this building is going to be? It looks like they are starting to put in windows, and put up walls on the frame that has been built. But, those cranes are awful high, and I thought that I saw some drawings making the building look a lot taller. I hope that it is topped off, but I am afraid that it isn't. I'll tell you, though, the view from those rooms is going to be really nice.

What do you think they were trying to catch here? Not a mouse or rat. Something they wanted to catch alive and relocate. I've seen plenty of poison stations around the Fort, and at one time, there were some big traps for the peacocks, but I don't know what this trap was for. What do you think?

It is even more noticeable now, because for some reason, this area has been spared from the clear-cutting.
It comes out just behind the 1500/1600 loop comfort station. A nice short-cut for those on the far side of the 1600 loop:

Here's something I have never seen mentioned here before.
What do you think about the coffee at the Fort?
At Trail's End, the coffee is brewed from ground coffee in a big commercial coffee maker:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08109.jpg
At the Meadow's Trading Post, they have a Nescafe machine. I am not sure exactly how these contraptions work, but I think there is some kind of premixed syrup that gets used to make the coffee. I saw a cast member open the machine once when it was out of coffee, and she removed and replaced what looked like a box with a plastic liner.
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08055.jpg
The results are two very different tasting cups of coffee.
The Nescafe machines are what they seem to have at all of the other resorts. I know that this is what they have over at the Wilderness Lodge, Polynesian, and Contemporary. It's also what they use on the Disney Cruise Line ships.
I don't really care for either one, but I drink both.
Anyone have a preference? Maybe someone can post a poll? popcorn::

Just a few miscellaneous photos to help wrap things up:
On Friday, April 4, there was an incident on the road way between the 1700 and 1900 loops:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08135-1.jpg
I tried to find out more info, but the DD's, who have social skills, told me that it would be insensitive to gawk. There was a person down on the street in front of the ambulance. I think everybody was OK, because when we returned after a quick trip, the ambulance was gone.
On the 1200 loop, some long-termers have installed a fountain on their site:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08127.jpg
Here's a turkey wandering around the 1300 loop (he is right in the middle of the photo, in case you don't see him):
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/arodnite/FortWildernessSpringBreak08134.jpg

We took the segway tour when it was still in the trial phase. Riding the Segways was fun, but they really have very little info to share. They began to make stuff up as they went along. Lots of the tour is in the heavy foilage areas. They identify some plants and come up with names for others. If you do take the tour make sure you know the name of the horse from old Disney shows as there is a trivia question. And remember the name John Deere when they are talking about the blacksmith shop. You could win a prize :thumbsup2

They say that all good things must come to an end, and so it is with this thread.
Sadly, with this post, I give you my last photo from the fantastic Spring Break '08 trip. It is, however, my second favorite photo from this trip.
But, not to worry, as of now, the TCD gang has ressies to return to the Fort in May (that is May 2008, as in next month). There is a strong effort being made by the TCD DD's for a stay at the AKL, so we will all have to wait and see how that turns out.
On this great spring break trip, we had several afternoons and evenings with rain. Usually, this is a dry time of year, but not this year. No worries, Central Florida still needs the rain.
And, while it may have put a damper on some campers, it was great weather for ducks . . . . .

TCD Thank-you! This was the best report ever! Our first trip is Mayish and I am even more excited to go! I shared the Granny picture with my husband- He is a people watcher, too. Your compostiion in some of your photos were excellent, especially the gator. Wow! Thanks for the wonderful diversion.:)
