Any comments on what the generals stores carry? Are they pretty stocked with the basics - eggs, toilet paper, etc. or do they mainly carry souveniers?

I just wish they had something for me to wear, like REALLLY big fort wilderness t-shirt, or a hat or something, Erica and Matt have hoodies, t's, sleep shirt, sweat shirts, all I have to wear around home is a pin.
I was in Meadows one day last month and there were some big wigs there looking at merchandise, and talking about what they could add. I hear one say that they get a lot of calls for stickers.... LOL I told them they need hats and license plates etc. He wrote it down, don't know if it was just to make me go away or not... lol

We have a hard time finding any "big" merchandise around the world. DH isn't the smallest either, and we can never find a shirt that works.

To my knowledge, and I look long and hard for crap....the largest shirts on Disney property are the 3xl hockey jerseys, and they fit big, so its really close to a 4xl. I think they are really missing a "large" part of their potential purchasers by not having the larger sizes....the avg american aint no super model!!!

I thing it's false advertising calling it a Trading Post. I once tried to trade a neighbor's child for a blonde I saw there and they turned me down. They mumbled something about not being that kinda place.

Was there two weeks ago and saw a number of FW shirts (both polos and tees) in 4X at the Meadow T.P.

As far as the supplies, I thought they had more than anything you needed if you forgot the basics...of course at those wonderful WDW prices :)

 I am KICKING myself that we didn't make it over to the Trading Post on this trip. I would have loved a decoration for our camper, and some kind of souvenier as well. They don't sell that stuff anywhere online do they? We only found FW pins for the kids in Animal Kingdom...but nothing else! Waaaahhhhh!

Theres a phone number on any disney merchandise reciept that you may have held onto....you can call that # and tell them what you saw and where you saw it (or heard about)and they will mail it to you.

We have the best luck finding stuff for DH (3X) at World of Disney. But then he's easy to buy for. He likes the button down dress shirt with the silhouette Mickey on it.

I love going to the stores. :thumbsup2 I am always looking for things to put in our motorhome to remind me of the Fort when we aren't there. I go there multiple times during the trip. Plus you go there (Meadows) to pick up purchases you have made in the parks.

I couldn't agree more. On our last trip I did luck out and get a 3x T and polo at the Meadows TP. I should have bought two of each. The T is holding up well but for some reason the polo, like all my others (my preferred type of shirt for work) seem to shrink some with washing. Either that or I'm just expanding. The selection of "large" merchandise is even tougher at WOD. With such a large selection of apparel it amazes me there aren't more "large" offerings.

there are three outlet stores that usually have (unfortunately little or no fort stuff) the larger sizes in bulk at really good prices...

there is one on 535, one at the outlet mall on i-4 and the turnpike off of i-drive and one at the outlet mall next to the dolly parton thingy (horse show)

we always take a day to go to all three and stock up on stuff

Not to defend Disney Merchandising, but I used to manage a clothing store here in LA(Lower Alabama) and it is almost impossible to find large merchandise to sell. There are no shirt factories left in this country, and the overseas factories for some reason have stopped making big and tall merchandise. We used to beg the vendors for Big and Tall shirts and they just didn't have it. Chances are the tees and knits Disney sells are manufactured by some large clothing company and the Disney label is added. So Disney has little say in what sizes are available. It is sad really.

That would be excellent...if I knew what I was "looking" for. I have no idea what they have. :lmao:

I agree. When I had my store in Alabama, I had to go to a special manufacturer in the US to make those sizes. Usually, the customer did not want to pay that amount of money for the item, so I made few sales in that category.

We usually hit those locations as well. One year I bought a polo shirt at WOD that has Sorcerer Mickey on it. I think it cost $40. The next year we saw it at Character Merchandising for $10. They had a rack of 3x. I kick myself for not getting a couple more. Now, when I see it I get it because you never know if they'll have it when you go back. Our first trip to the Meadows TP last August I bought all my shirts at once since they were in stock.

That would be excellent...if I knew what I was "looking" for. I have no idea what they have. :lmao:

Unless things have changed they don't know what they have as well. I believe their online system only has descriptions of items not pictures. They can look things up that way but you have to know what it is you want. They can also look up items using the sku codes. I now keep the tags from the shirts in case I want to get more. I believe shipping is still $10 per order.

When I went to the stores at the campground, I wasn't looking for souveneirs (sp). They had basic supplies: milk, bread, some diapers, fruit, cereal some canned goods, etc. The prices were high-- but if you need it? I could have restocked enough to get us to the next decent grocery store.
