What are your dates?
When did you call?
1. POP (1st choice for my GG) - preferred room
2. Overall savings for 3 rooms (5A; 1JR; 2CH): $1263.00!!
3. Sept. 2-8 for my room; Sept 2-7 for the other 2 rooms
4. I called at 7:00 a.m. and was only hold the first time for no more than 15 minutes. I was placed on hold by the GG CM for another 5-10 minutes after that. She didn't tell me why she put me on hold, but she did come back asking me about the deal I already had booked at CBR. I had to go through the whole story..."I originally called to book Pop Century, the CM said 'something just popped up on my screen, let's see what it is,' yada, yada, yada." Once she decided it was an upsell, she completed the process of modifying my existing reservations to free dining. She didn't reconfirm my details to my satisfaction (she obviously needed me off the phone) so I'll be calling back when the phone lines quieten down in order to verify everything and add my room preferences.

We got free dining!!!:cheer2:
I was on hold for at least 50 mins. and total of 1hr. 4 mins. 18 sec. on my cell phone doing my hair, putting on makeup then driving to work!!!!
Okay, I may need help w/this:
We are trying to estimate the savings so here is what we have come up w/so far:
We got POR for 7 nights, 5 people, 1 day base ticket, and free dining for 9/20/08 - 9/27/08.
$1675.35 - Total
DH estimated (he thinks this is the low side) that w/ free dining, we could save approx. $735.00? Here is how he broke it down:
$5.00 - bkfst/lunch
$1.00 - snack
$15.00 - Dinner
Which would make our hotel $562.00? And of course I believe the tickets were $378.00.
Are we thinking right? I hope so! Of the many times we have been to Disney over the past 23 years, we have never done a package or dining.
Thanks Dis'ers for giving the heads up on free dining!!!:cool1:

**As far as saving, we don't usually buy the DDP, so we don't eat like we'll be doing in Aug/Sept. However, we do pay for 2-4 table service meals while we're there. Based on the fact that the last time we were there, we paid OOP for CRT, LTT, Prime time Cafe, and 'Ohana dinner...I estimate that we are saving between $400-$500.

IMHO yes. You have to eat anyway, so why not for free? I wouldn't book a trip just for the free dining, but we were going either way, so this is just a perk.

Not sure but we are talking 6 adults and 8 juniors
9/14-9/20
called at 7:25 Central Time
Part of the call was holding for group dining reservations.
I'm calling on Thursday as we don't have Disney Visa. However, I was hoping to get All Star Music Family Suite. But they are not offered for the free dining? What about two connecting rooms at ASMu....Is this an option?

I am so glad to see that people have been (for the most part) able to book Free Dining for stays that extend beyond 9/20! We're going to be at POR 9/16-9/24.
Hopefully by Thurs they will still have rooms for us and my parents (one standard, one king) with the plan available. We already have 2 standard rooms booked through AAA, and are hoping our TA doesn't have trouble upgrading to the Free Dining / tickets package and one king room.

I know, I'm trying to figure out why others aren't saving as much? We are going for 7 nights instead of the 5 they advertised....3 of our family qualifies as the "adult" dinner ticket (me, dh, ds (12) dd (10) and dd (9))...we didn't ask for a special view or anything...he acted like it would be no deal to switch my reservation (had already used my Disney Visa to book this trip a month ago)..my old reservation says "Magic Your Way + Dine" so I don't know if that means we have park hoppers or just one park/day tickets....I need to go to the Disney site and see what pulls up...they were supposed to have already taken insurance off but I forgot to confirm that when I made this reservation...

It sure doesn't save for solo travelers:sad1:
I had a AAA discount room at CSR for 8 nights at $1072.88.
It will cost (for the same 8 nights/same resort) $1,417.81. That's $344.93 extra for 8 days of "free" dining and a one-day pass. Since the pass costs $75.62 per Mousesavers, I guess my "free" dining costs $33.66/daily. A savings of $4.33/daily.:rotfl:
Oh well, I could offer to take my niece. We could eat at some nice restaurants.
Also, if I have two one-day passes, can I use them together towards an annual pass (with a DVC discount thrown in)?? :confused3

We wanted: Sept 13-21 POP standard
We got: Sept 13-20 ASMo Preferred (This was ALL that was left - all you earlybirds got the rest!;) ) Also, the guy wouldn't book us past the 20th
1 day park tickets (plan to upgrade to AP with DVC discount after we get there) and FREE Dining
Hopefully we can call back and get the extra day and maybe switch to POP - yeah!! :cool1: :cool1:

The upgrade is a 1:1 ratio. So you cannot have multiple passes applied as credit to one pass.
Can't say for certain, but I don't see why you could not apply one pass towards an AP as a DVC-er.

DF called at 7am this morning and got all the dining we wanted and THEN got transferred to CRO and was able to switch to POP. I thought they might open up more rooms and I was right cause we got our POP standard for 8 nights (this one let us book to the 21st) and our bill went DOWN $3 since we switched from preferred to standard. So only $894 for 8 nights with dining and 1 day tickets (yeah yeah, our upgrade will be $600 and we have to pay tips but a girl can pretend for a bit).
