We're going Sept 27-Oct 4th. Right now we're booked with AAA discount. Hoping for something a little better. Anyone else waiting to see if something comes out for after free dining?

Yes, count me in! We are using AAA for now, but I would love to have something better for our September 26th to 30th trip.

Me!! We are doing a quick trip Oct 3 - Oct 6 (mostly for MNSSHP) and are already booked at Pop. If something free/discounted comes my way then GREAT, but it won't make my trip any less magical :)

What are the odds of other freebies/discounts/specials coming out for times after free dining? This will only be our 2nd trip to WDW so I've never really followed the deals before.

We are currently booked with the bounceback free dining 9/25 - 10/4 but do to a change in the school calendar, we might have to change our dates from 10/2 - 10/11 falling into the discount "BLACK HOLE".

After asking on the DIS awhile back, I finally tracked down what we paid last year after free dining for dates 9/29 - 10/4. We stayed at CBR for 7 nights with 8 day Park Hoppers and it looks that we saved about 20%. I thought I saw somewhere on here that Deluxes may have been 30%. I WILL TAKE IT!!!! :thumbsup2

Me!!! We are booked right now for Club Level AKL. I'm 99% sure Disney will not be offering free dining for Club Level. We reeeeaaallllly want to do the sunrise safari for my daughter's b-day, so we are hoping for a code that works on club level. :)

I'm soooooooooooooooo hoping one of these comes through this year.
We have only been once before too and want to go this year either 4 days around September 27th OR the following weekend around October 4th. Depending on the offers/discounts and the vacation schedule at the office ;)
We don't even have AAA so we can't save that. Is the yearly membership worth the savings on a value as that is where we want to stay?

Thanks so much for the info - that is exactly what I was looking for!!
We passed on the free dining this morning, hoping for a 40% discount room only at the Poly from Aug 22/31. We have AAA discount right now! I will have to keep my eye out for an AP room only discount!
Thanks again!

AAA cost about $60 a year. You can call CRO and ask them the price with the AAA discount and then decide if it's worth it. I know right now we're booked at the FW Cabins end of Sept into Oct 4th and we're saving about $420 in AAA discount. My SIL is staying at CS about the same time and she's saving about $250. AAA has other benefits as well, take a look at their site.

I just got AAA but when I booked my trip I did not book it with AAA...still hoping for a better discount. We are going 9/26-29. We are going for F&W and MNSSHP. We will be staying AKL club and wanted to do sunrise safari also. O well on the free dining.

Planning on WL for Sept 22-29.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a GREAT AP rate. I saw where discounts for those dates didn't come out last year until 6/20 and it's agony waiting and waiting and waiting.
But in the meantime I can wait for MNSSHP tickets to go on sale. Disney really knows how to string you along!

I am a VISA cardholder and got the offer, but now my question is, I saw the post earlier about the package deals in December. Does anyone know when they were released? If I book now for September with this good deal, but really want to go in December, can I change it without penalty if the new deal comes out before my Sept. trip would be final? Hopefully that makes sense!

You can still get AAA discount when booking through disney, not sure if you were aware of that.
AAA discount will save you 20% off value in december

Just wanted to mention we have AAA room only rate at AKL club for fall 08. If they have club rooms at AAA rate available, you can get a discount. It's worth asking. :goodvibes
(Our savings were about $360.00 off a 7 night stay.)

So now I'm just curious as to how much those package discounts were when offered for 2007? Does anyone know? Late September (after the 20th so we miss FD drat!), possibly first week of of October is when we want to go.

The next time we are looking to go is in mid October and would so like a code
or some kind of discount. Here is to hoping!!

We're actually arriving a few days before FD ends, but a room discount would be a better savings for us. Waiting to find out about AP discounts.

jrasmom, Here is a link to previous historic discounts. It won't tell you the amount of the discount, but might help to calculate when an announcement might be made. http://www.mousesavers.com/historicalwdwdiscounts.html#codetrends.

I'm daydreaming about a possible mini-trip from September 27 - October 1. A discount code might make my dreams a reality!

2007 Discounts and Codes

9/30/07-12/23/07 package discounts for Disney Rewards Visa cardholder

What exactly does "package discount" mean? Or what did it mean last year? Anyone remember or take advantage of it? Was it just a percentage discount like AAA?

ChrisAlli

Package Discount is room plus tickets, I think really the room is discounted but they make you buy tickets as well. A room only discount is just that. You can book just the room at a discount.

That is one reason I only book room only and wait to see what they come up with. If a package deal comes out that's better than my room only plus buying tickets through ticketmania, then I'll go with that, but if they have a room only deal better than AAA i'll switch and buy my tickets through Tickemania.

I just hate waiting

DH and I are heading down 10/6- ? for a 3-4 day F&W trip. I have my fingers crossed for a discount. I think we got free F&W when we did this 2 yrs ago. I'd be just as happy with a room discount.

Disney typically offers discounts to fill rooms during slow periods so if you all keep booking your AAA rooms in the hopes of switching to a discount package, Disney won't see this as being a 'slow time'.

If the economy keeps tanking, there will be discounts!

You will have to cancel your september trip and make a new reservation when the details come out. Whether they penalize you will depend on when you cancel your september trip. Sometimes the CM will just apply your amount paid to the new reservation after cancelling your first reservation.

If you got the resort you wanted for september, i would stick with that. Your resort option may not be available with future discounts.

Well...we were supposed to be coming in September for 4/5 days (after free dining) then meeting my parents at the beach & using my couson's beach house for 4/5 days. But my parents aren't going to be able to go, and the kids insist they can't go to the beach without Grandpa.

So..now dh & I are thinking about January/February instead. Maybe the first week of February. I need to go read that link on past codes when they were released and such and do some research on Jan/Feb crowd (which I know they aren't bad) times, when is the marathon, things like that.

Hansel1 I see in your siggy you've gone in Jan. the last 3 years would you recommend it? Weather wise, nonexistant crowd?

We love january. Although crowds have risen a bit in the last two years, I believe it is still one of the better times to go. The marathon and MLK weekend are usually the second and third weekend in january. If you had to pick one or the other to go I would pick the Marathon weekend. The crowds have seemed lower.

As for the weather:

In 2006 we had perfect weather with the exception of our first night when the temps dropped to mid 50s and windy. It rained a total of 15 minutes that week.

In 2007 the weather was great as well for our 10 day stay. It rained 1 night while we were sleeping.

This year the weather wasn't so great. Mostly in the upper 60s with rain scattered throughout the week. Very windy.

We have a son now and he had a great time despite the weather, but we probably won't go back with him in January until he gets a little older and can handle the weather better. We have planned a trip in May 2009 and will take him then.

If it were only my wife and I, we would definately continue to go in January. It is great to get through the holidays and still have something to look forward to.
