wheelchair bound in WDW - is there a reference book?

WDW with disability -- Is there a reference book?
Is there any sort of travel or reference book focussing on traveling in Walt Disney World with a disability (wheelchair bound)? Looking for a tell all book with hints, etc. Just wondering if one actually exists?

There used to be one, I think Sue has a copy, but it is way out of print and outdated now. We have a ton of information here on the board, though. And there are links from the DIS main page, and the FAQ, and all of us here to answer your questions. You can also get theh Guidebook for Guests With Disabilities online, or at the park gates, but it isn't as good as we are. ;)

I do have a copy of one, but it was out of date when it was printed and I think it's been out of print for at least 5 years. Paginf thru ot recently, I came to realize that a forum like this is probably one of the best wasys to figure out what works and what doesn't because when things chenge, someone hears about it and posts it. You can also ask questions and get answers from someone with similar abilities.
The guy that wrote the old book was a paraplegic who sounded like he had arms of steel. Some things that would be fairly accessible to him might be fairly inacessable for someone with different abilities. For example, his assessment was that the Haunted Mansion and Peter Pan were similar in ease for getting on. We find it very hard to get our DD on Peter Pan (probably we have ridden it for the last time), but Haunted Mansion is not too bad.
If you have questions about specific rides, I can look up in the book and see if the info is still current or not. We also have regular board visitors who are willing to share how they get on.
The only other alternative is the Guidebooks for Guests with Disabilities that teri mentioned. There is one for each park. While not particularly enlightening about how any of the rides board, they do have some good general information about the rides. I think this link to the official Disney site (http://disney.go.com/disabilities/index.html) should still take you there.

That book is practically worthless. It is far too grneralized and really tells you nothing of value.

jadedee, sorry to say, but the Guidebook for Guests with Disabilities that you mentioned is the same thing that teri and I mentioned.
It's several booklets that are sort of short pamphlets about each park. It gives a short description of each ride, like is it a turbulant, thrill ride or a quiet boat ride. It does tell whether you can take a wheelchair on the ride with you, but that information is also on the park maps. So, as lisapooh mentioned, it's not very helpful.
