View Full Version : Best time of year?

When is the best time to go? I definatly want to swim at Castaway Cay. Is the summertime too hot? Is there a rainy season? Also is every cruise booked up , or are there some cruises where you don't need to fight over the pool chairs? I am a teacher with kids so I can't go mid October or anything like that.

Late Spring and Summer is a good time to cruise. We have cruised in January, March, and June. January the water is really chilly. March and June the water was heavenly....

Even with a chance of hurricanes we like Sept. We have cruised in March, May and Sept. The water at Castaway Cay was just too cool for us in March and May. Air temps were pleasent during all cruises.

Hi,

We have cruised in October and January. We loved January!!! When we sailed in October we were hit by hurricane Irene so I really don't know what its like to sail then during normal conditions. January was very warm but not hot and sticky. The water at Castaway Cay was a little chilly but it didn't stop us from snorkling and swiming, you got used to it fast and the sun warmed you when you got out.

We have cruised twice in June and enjoyed calm seas and great weather both times.

How about Thanksgiving week? What is the weather like in Nov.?

We sailed on the Magic last November, the week after Thanksgiving. The air temperature was great everywhere, about 80. The water temperature at Castaway Cay was a bit chilly. It didn't stop anyone from going in, but iot was a bit chilly.
