We were just at DLR resort and one of the DVC guides told me the current SSR model is closed and they are working on a Grand Californian model that will be ready by the end of the month. Hopefully we've got some DVC'ers headed that way that can get some photos for everyone.

I'll be there April 24-28 and will take pictures if it's open and I can squeeze in a tour. This doesn't mean that GVC will start going on sale then does it? Is the model going to be a "teaser" to get people to buy AKV or SSR to have the right to purchase GCV later. :confused3

The SSR model was closed when we were there at the beginning of February. My husband and I had gone to the SSR model in Florida, so we knew what we were buying, but our kids weren't with us and have no idea. I'm looking forward to the models finally being done, but I'm going this week, it would be nice if they were done a bit early.

I apologize as I really don't have any other information. The guide I spoke with didn't offer anything other than the SSR model was not available for viewing because of the remodel going on for GCV. Plus I think we've all discovered that the guides sometimes don't always have the correct information.

I hope it will be ready when you arrive as it would be nice to see some photos after everyone has been anticipating a west coast location for so long now. :goodvibes

This is exciting! I can't wait to see how they will design it! I'm sure it will tie in with the current scheme, but I'm curious as to what will be added for DVC. :cloud9:

I talked to my guide today, and was told that the models will open in May. They will be sending out invitations to owners before that time.

I'm thinking that probably the GCV models won't be open end of April, but I will check and will be pleasantly surprised if they are. And I'll let everyone know what I hear from any guides I talk to at DL while I'm there.

My guide is at Disneyland, and today he said the models won't be open until May. I was hoping they'd be open sooner too.:)

I'm a Socal local w/ an AP and I'm there often. I'll make it a point to pop my head in each time I'm there to see if its done. I'll always have my camera handy just in case! ;)

Why would they open the models if they can't sell the points for GCV yet? Or will they?

Just read this on DVCNews

DVCNews has learned that the model rooms for the Grand Californian Villas at the Disneyland sales center will open just in time for Memorial Day weekend. On May 23rd - 26th, DVC will host special preview sessions exclusively for existing members. Invitations are being prepared now and will soon be sent to members living in the Southern California area.

I can't wait for our invitation, but we will be checking regularly just in case there is a "surprise" showing. You never know... :goodvibes

I wish I had time to go check them out, but I've already made two trips this year.

Can't wait to see them... I just postponed a business trip out there a few weeks so that I could actually see them, instead of missing them!
